There is some pretty glarring differences:
- Freeza was responsible for the death of Goku's entire race, the destruction of his planet, and fucking up Namek too. Pain was responsible for being the supposed leader of Akatsuki and wanting to destroy Konoha, who ended up being a sympathetic character who finally got defeated by Naruto talking him out of it.
- There was more of a character focus in Freeza arc rather than a storyline focus. The story was there, but was motivated completely by the characters. Pain on the other hand is completely story centric and the entire reason Naruto wants to fight Pain has nothing to do with his personal wants more-so than his want to prove to Kohona that he's awesome.
- We also never got the worst arc in the history of manga before the Freeza arc in Dragonball which helps a lot.
- Goku is still far more GAR than Naruto's skinny ass.
It was painfully obvious that I wasn't being literally about that comparison. If you and stat flow want to be facetitious about it, go ahead. Though you're not winning awards for being funny or witty whatsover. I said both fights were similar (having some, keyword some resemblance) but its interesting to see you drop your 2 cents into this.
- Pein was responsible for the death of Jiraiya (someone who was really close to Naruto) and the majority of the konoha citizens death. How you missed Jiraiya's death was beyond me, its pretty much universally agreed that his death was one of the greatest moments in all of Naruto. Naruto had strong motives to fight him.
- You're horribly misguided if you actually think this. Character focus in DBZ? The fuck? The characters do and act things in a way depending on the plot and i'm surprised you think otherwise. You're explanation as to why Naruto fights Pain is bunk. Did you forget what Jiraiya told Naruto beforehand? The whole "understanding the villains motives?" Pain had a fleshed out (not that I liked any of it) character development, and you could fully understand why he did what he did. "There isn't much depth in Freeza's character either (who does things because he's an evil asshole) the Pain arc was both more story centric and character driven than the Freeza saga.

- fucking opinions how do they work?
I guess I need to make this clear before you respond, I truly and honestly don't care about either your opinions on anything Naruto related from this point on.
