Videogame facts that blow your mind (SuperMarioBros. SHOCKING SECRET INSIDE p #70)

There are a few Mario facts in the newest Video game vault and I think not all have appeared in this thread (might be wrong, read it all some time ago, but it's just too many information to remember it all).

Domino's sponsored the Super Mario Bros. Show? Isn't that where Reggie was president before jumping ship to Nintendo?

Haha, that's great!

Funny how you could move from Pizza to Video Games.

Man, the first time Reggie appeared on stage at E3.

2004, was it? He presented the DS and Metroid Prime Hunters and blew everybody's mind with it.

And NEW REALISTIC GAMECUBE ZELDA, don't forget.

Also the GameBoy Micro. :lol

Has she really only been Kidnapped 12 times? They must be skipping the RPG games, right?

Let's see..

Super Mario 1
Super Mario 2 (Japan)
Super Mario 3
Mario World
Mario 64
Mario Sunshine
Mario Galaxy
Mario Galaxy 2
Mario RPG
Uh...

I don't have time to check the Wiki, but was she kidnapped in the M&L series? What about 3D Land? And Paper Mario! And was she even kidnapped in Galaxy 2?

I should have done this check when I got home from work and had more time.

Somehow I think it's way more than 12.

She was kidnapped in all of those at some point or another.

I'm sure cloudbush is just a humorous bit of knowledge at NCL. I have to think they've known all along.

I doubt the MK7 thing is in reaction to GAF.

They even straight up acknowledged it in iwata asks.

I dont know how to feel cloudbush is enough to make me forgive no waluigi.
Gonna pick up mario kart today.

Kidnapped in Super Paper Mario.

Or are we only counting Bowser kidnappings?

This shown up in my subscription box today. Very appropriate video title and description. From Final Fantasy 7.

It's very weird that they actually programmed this in due to being so hard to find and it having no real purpose. Another interesting thing is how it shows a very castle-like surrounding of the town whereas most of the game towns and settings incorporate industrial-punk elements.

That's awesome. I love hidden stuff like that. It reminds me of the unopenable treasure chest that will never be opened, ever.

I don't know if it's well known, but watching this video sure blew my mind: it's a small thing from Kalm in FFVII, but I was surprised I could never notice it or never heard of it before.

EDIT: yeah, I should've checked. Sorry

Cloud bush in MK7 blew me the fuck away. Moreso because I haven't seen anything of MK7 yet, I didn't want to be spoiled, but damn.

Wow never knew about this.

Speaking of FF7, wasnt there something that happens when your HP drops to exactly 777?

Dang, I have known that like over 10 years, I could have been internet superstar :(

So, I'm not sure if this is true but it's a pretty strange thing for someone to make up so publically but, uh.. apparently Kameo has a reference to..
um..

me.

Or more specifically, my old webcomic, at least according to IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0491007/trivia
The line "There are many guards in the castle" is a reference to the Adventurers! web-comic that ran until 2006.

This blows my mind, at least.

(if anyone knows if this is actually true I'd super-appreciate evidence one way or the other)

in the dreamcast version of skies of arcadia, just before u encounter a random battle the disc will start to spin like its loading, if u press the start button at this time u can avoid the battles entirely.

Damn, this is great!!

I just finished Mother 3 and I am on to Pokemon, and noticed that the Route 10 sounded the similar to something I heard before. Nice homage.

Works nice with the whole twin and dragon storyline that Pokemon has.

Thought it was pretty well known, but posted it in this thread anyways.

Wow, nice find. Now I really want to play M3 again. I remember playing through it in Japanese on my DS and having a printed translation from GameFAQs the whole time lol. Then I played through the English patch.

People might already know this but in DQIX the town of Zere is where the
story of the "Right/Wight knight" is told
and to symbolize this whole thing of heartbreak the town of Zere is shaped like a broken heart

OK, I know I've done this before, I swear. I was playing Pokemon Fire Red and I was somewhere in the Sevii Isles. I was looking at my pokemon, when the option to 'Cut' came up. There were no small trees around me, but I went and did it anyway to see what would happen... and I ended up cutting the tall grass! I could cut the grass that wild pokemon appeared in! So far I've never been able to do this in any other Pokemon game and my Fire Red file was erased. Can anyone else confirm that this is true?

tl;dr You can use Cut to get rid of tall grass in Pokemon Fire Red.

You could do it in original Red/Blue, too. Possibly also Gold and Silver but I don't remember.

That's how I got through my first playthrough of Red, kept cutting grass when I didn't feel like going back to a PokeCenter :P
