I'm surprised it went so low, the game is only a few weeks old (Nintendo one as well!). I was expecting £24-£27 price range.

Even at £20 I would have been shocked.

You don't have a GAME near you? You must really be out in the sticks!

About 20-30 minutes by car in either direction, so not a massive journey but a little far for just one thing. One of the drawback of living in a town with ~5,000 people.

Could someone please point me to the cheapest place to order Ghost Trick and 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors?

999 is unreleased in the UK, I had to order mine from the USA and it cost about £25. Ghost Trick is £14.86 from the banned site:

So, are Shop Direct Group (owners of Very) just shit in general? I've never heard of them before, but they also own Woolworths and Littlewoods. Would be good to know.

Look up the definition of loan shark and you're not far off the mark. Plus they often offer 'deals' by charging full price and then refunding in a timescale of their pleasing... If at all.

Basically just never give them any of your details ever.

Why is ShopTo banned?

I came into this thread specifically to find a good deal for Mario Kart 7 after getting a 3DS for Christmas, I was surprised and disappointed all in the same 1 minute.

Because the system they used for credit card transactions was hacked a few years ago, IIRC. Bunch of fraudulent charges and the like.

They still do have some flaws. I pre-ordered GT5 with what turned out to be an invalid voucher code and paid off with PayPal. They realised on the day of dispatch that the order was wrong so they cancelled it at the eleventh hour and hoarded the money away as account credit which "company policy says we can't refund".

Two days of arguing with a rep about consumer rights sorted the thing, but that's a pretty shady way of handling things.

So what's the best choice of action I can take against Very? The funds have been put on hold on my account, but I haven't been charged yet.

Should I just give me bank a call and tell them to block the transaction and then contact Very to cancel the order?

Damnit, I got a stock alert for El Shaddai on PS3 from GAME this morning at 9am. Of course I was wrapped up snuggly in bed to awaken at 11 only to find it sold out again. :(

Most the time those are false alarms. Just mention search Yakuza 4 in this thread. Kept coming back in stock. Even if you responded by the time you got the message and added to basket when you try to check out bam, no stock (pretty sure there was none to start with).

How much has been put on hold?

Very have just released a statement saying that all orders will be cancelled within 48 hours.

We have had confirmation from our Buyers that this was a pricing error and has now been removed from Sale. The correct price is £279.00 and will be loaded back up to the website soon. Unfortunately all orders made for this item will be cancelled and anyone who placed an order will be contacted within 48 hours. All customers who made an order will be contacted to be informed of the error and if you wish to order at the correct price then you can do so.
