NFL 2011 Week 17 |OT| It's Time To Shut Up, Fat Boy

As the starting QB he's 7-4 and very well liked in Denver. It will be tough to get rid of him. We don't have a lot invested in him contract wise, so I don't think it's crazy to give him an offseason to prepare properly and give it another shot. Not everyone is Brady right off the bat.

I don't care about his record. Just by watching him this season it's painfully clear that he isn't a NFL caliber quarterback and never will be. He has the physical attributes to remain in the league, but at the starting position?

Definitely cheering for the Lions next week. Yeah, I said it.

The whole sense of inevitability people apply to one game playoffs year in and year out completely boggles my mind. The Broncos do not have a 0% chance of winning the game next week, they have a higher chance of winning the game than whatever number you're thinking of.

Honestly every year there is some team that "doesn't belong in the playoffs" and inevitability wins a game or even two sometimes. On paper the Broncos "don't have a chance" (give me a god damn break) but the games aren't played on paper.

my (lions) friend on facebook is complaining about bad calls in the lions/packers game. sour grapes or were the packers beneficiaries of some questionable calls?

I hate working sundays..missed a hella of a game between Detroit and Green Bay...and a few recording setting days for certain individuals..And Houston dropping the ball AGAIN..seriously a 2 pt conversion..should have just fucking kicked the goddamn extra point you piece of shit Gary Kubiak.

Why risk further injury to players and play in OT when we had a TE playing as a linebacker and nothing at stake. Yes a win would have been nice, but we almost beat that shitty Tits team with mostly 3rd stringers.

I dont fault Kubiak for going for it today, it's not something you would normally do unless a rare situation called for it.

I'm not saying that they have zero chance. I'm just saying that zero reasons for any franchise to go forward with Tebow as your starter.

I'm not saying it is the right decision, it will be a tough sell for Elway. I'm willing to let him have a shot at earning the position again next year barring a deep run into the playoffs which would cement his starting status. He still has to earn it and with a good offseason he could make great gains, considering his physical gifts and work ethic.

With just one game left to play in this year's regular schedule, most of the top picks at the 2012 draft have been set. Indianapolis will pick first, followed by (2) St. Louis, (3) Minnesota, (4) Cleveland, (5) Tampa Bay, (6) Washington, and (7) Jacksonville. Carolina and Miami will flip for the 8th and 9th picks, while Buffalo will pick 10th and Kansas City and Seattle will flip for the 11th and 12th picks. We will the full selection order after tonight's finale between Dallas and the Giants

More draft positioning.

okay.

Not saying you have no chance ( I would never say that against any NFL opponent no matter how bad) but it's....well it's Tebow against the number 1 rated D, and more importantly, the number 1 rated pass D in the league.

well obviously they have better than a 0% chance but unless something crazy happens they're going to get the shit kicked out of them. are you saying people should just forget what teams are headed into the playoffs and say WELP ITS A 50/50 SHOT FOR BOTH TEAMS!

all playoff teams may start with a 0-0 record but they aren't different teams. there is NO REASON to believe the broncos will beat the steelers but could it happen? sure, it's just extremely unlikely

Larry had the greatest postseason run as a receiver in NFL history. He, as they say, put the team on his back.

Megatron and Andre are amazing, prototypical receivers, but Larry will always have that over them in my eyes.

I've been reading around, a lot of people saying GB can't afford to tag him. Then again a fair few are also saying they can.

*shrug*

I dont think they tag him. It was over $16 million this year for the Eagles to tag Vick. GB would have an insane amount of money wrapped up in QBs.

They were the beneficiaries of some bad calls, but that isn't why they lost.

There was one kick return that was ruled a fumble that clearly wasn't but the video replay wasn't the right angle to overturn the call. Another play earlier in the game was where the TE was clearly down and then had the ball ripped out. Again, called a fumble and Detroit had to waste a challenge on it. Then, out of challenges, the refs missed a clear TD by Titus Young in the endzone, calling it incomplete. Replay showed he was in but they had no more challenges left.

That last one was kind of mind-boggling as the official was in the perfect position to see it, but oh well. Such is life.

Even if they tag him (which they won't) nobody will spend multiple draft picks to get him after the Kolb/Palmer disasters this year. With the new rookie salary cap, it's MUCH easier to draft a guy now and try it that way.

This is just Packers fans feeling entitled again.

Why is that infuriating? That's how it should be.

9 rushes in a row, Mcgahee and Ball both limping around the field, passing up a FG on the 40 yard line with 30 seconds left out of fear when you're DOWN 7-0, rush rush rush punt trips.....

When i say people will talk about Fox "playing to his strengths" i don't mean that in itself is bad, but how Fox does it is bad. It only works against the worst teams in the NFL.

Fitz plays harder than any player I have ever seen. He just wants it so bad

If Denver and SF can attempt to make Smith and Tebow franchise QBs, tagging Flynn makes a whole lot of sense.

SF would make sense.
Denver would be stupid to.
Green Bay would be stupid to, unless they could convince another team that they were going to do this and then deal him.

Denver can be decent if the fucking coaches believed in him

For fuck sakes you have to take risks

I never understood Foxball, it worked for awhile on that winning run we had, but teams in the NFL adjust, they will force you to beat them another way, there is no fucking cruise control in this league, you can't just slide on by

Today they could've taken risks, made other teams go wait they ain't running as much as usual, they are adapting, others would shift and then you play the advantages/weaknesses

Fox is Elway's bitch, it's really Elway's team and Fox is just a fucking puppet
Good defensive coach, horrible head coach

Just thought it was a dumb call to make ya know?

Frankly, he's undervalued.

If Ted Thompson isn't offered 1st round picks from 2012-2015 and whatever voodoo Les Miles has on his side, they should keep him.

Well, Graham Harrell is probably twice as good as Flynn so they need to move Flynn now in order to show off Harrell.
