Ya know, I'm an Art/English double major that has taken a fair amount of sociology and psychology classes, and I don't think I've ever heard a person admit to me that they are (completely) on board with Freud, so the idea of there actually being a modern day faction that believes this man truly knew what he was talking about is SORT OF blowing my mind.

I haven't seen any distinction based on majors really as far as i can tell :
people who have never taken a psychology class- thinks he was some genius of the subject (blame television)
people who have taken a psych class- not so much
As for bingo topic: Yea though I don't think I would even win, If I did I'd probably feel uncomfortable getting free stuff from "strangers". I'd feel more comfortable giving though whenever I have the money to do so.

I majored in Art and Japanese (lots of literature classes) and I can't say that I experienced much talk about symbolism and all that. Not nearly as much as what I heard from my English major friend anyway. She went nuts with it and despises all academics as a result (a sad point of contention between us since she hates academics and I want to get into academics.) My art classes were more about technique than anything else.

Most impressive! How long have you been playing? You've got chops. I haven't been focusing on guitar since I shifted my focus to electronic music so this is somewhat old but you'll get the idea of my general style.

I don't know if he used to have a Bone avatar, but every time I see him post I just picture him as one of these:
Where ever you're doing your major must have some pretty awesome educated people, because most people I meet at my school have no idea that a lot of Freud's ideas are considered dated in modern psychology or that his methods were... less than scientific. I just got into a huge argument with one of my teachers about it as well - and he's usually a pretty educated guy.
I also blame highschool English classes for this. It was so weird - in another, unrelated class I was actually reading Freud's own work and I'd walk into English where the teacher and students were using his theories to analyze literature as if it was scientific fact.
