Anyone know of any good deals for a 3DS? Decided to get my daughter one for her birthday, no real preferences on bundle etc. although a Mario game of some description would be good.

In store or online is fine, as long as I can get it by Thursday. Ta. :-)

Morrisons has them for £99 without/£155 with a Mario game (depending on the store) according to UK gaffers, pretty nice deal.

EDIT: Amazon.co.uk has a mario bundle up for £150. Here.

Man you've just lost yourself £130 Vita! If they actually took the money out of your account, then they are legally obligated to give you that Vita! The moment money is actually exchanged, that is when the contract becomes legally binding. That's why most sites don't take money until dispatch, so they can fix any errors they make. I never understand why when there's a huge bargain people are always like, "I hope they don't charge right away", I'm always hoping they're going to take my money!

By accepting a refund, you're probably too late now.

EDIT:

Actually, Very have this clause to get out of it

They had actually issued a refund even without me asking for it. They didn't send me a email to let me know about this and I only found out after I decided to call them.

They also released a statement shortly after the pricing mistake to say they would let all customers know about the mistake and that their orders had been cancelled and this wasn't done either. (I still haven't got an email from them)

What annoyed me was how they charged me for something that they had no intention of honouring and now I'm without this money for 10 days.

A long shot but anyone know of a place selling Dreamcast Broadband adapters? If not, would anyone be willing to sell theirs for a reasonable price?

The actual incident wasn't really their fault - it was the company which handled their CC transactions which was the culprit - but how they *handled* it was abysmal, lots of denials and uncertainty prior to realising that they were the ones at fault.

That said, I'm inclined to agree with those calling for the ban to be lifted; they appear to have cleaned up their act significantly, and I've had nothing but pleasant experiences from them, personally - but the ban was justified, and it's reasonable for mods to think that their sins back then were significant enough that it's one that should not currently (perhaps even ever?) be revoked.

Oh I know; they are not on my personal list of banned retailers because of the leak [which as you correctly say was due to the company they employed to handle the transactions, not them] but how they dealt with the issue in general, which you also correctly point out.

Frankly I don't trust them and choose not to do business with people I don't trust.

Sony caused a lot more trouble with the PSN debacle and they aren't banned.

My post was in response to a post which said: "it seemed like nobody could even decide whether it was caused by them or not" and should be taken in that context.

I have clarified why I will no longer shop with them above.

I cannot comment on the PSN issue as I do not have a PSN account so have no thoughts on the matter.

Sony had the PSN voucher option before that scandal, and shopto got banned before they implamented the Paypal.

Besides, how exactly would you go about banning Sony from Gaf, they're bigger than just playstation and you can't link directly to their PSN store.

Holyshit at that Morrisons price! I wish I had some money saved up somewhere. Hopefully such a deal will come again from the morrisons.

Any deals for PSN cards anywhere? I think Game were doing £35 cards for £25? Looking to get £40's worth or more for less than £40.

They called me to inform me about the cancellation on Thursday morning

Planning on playing some PSO by any chance? I've looked into this a few times in the past, could only ever find them on ebay and they were always really expensive. :/

Yeah, i'm itching to get back onto the DC game before PSO2 releases. I'd also look into seeing if there's private servers for Quake 3 and Chuchu Rocket.

Kind of annoyed because a friend offered to give it to me a few years ago. I was too into the GC/PS2 to care though. I think my best chance is to see if any friends would sell me theres.

Sadly that offer as well as the £25 card for £20 ended last Wednesday, hence why it's now listed as "out of stock".

Very tempted to pick up Halo Anniversary as an easy January game. Seems like it's still holding at 22 GBP level though.

But as I posted on the last page, Shopto did the exact same thing with me with a Paypal pre-order, so surely if Very is going to be banned Shopto should stay banned too?

There's no way to "pay once it's shipped" using Paypal, regardless of the place.
You surely couldn't have missed the enormous "Pay now" button you pressed.

Are you sure?

Zavvi doesn't seem to take money from paypal until an item is shipped.

You didn't read all of my post then. I have no qualms with them taking the money before it ships. I do have a problem with invalid vouchers being accepted even though my account was clearly illegible for the offer and, once my order had been cancelled, being told that they can't refund the money back to my PayPal account and that it has to stay on my account as credit.

Wasn't the (now ended) deal on THQ's site where you get the game + season pass for £15 better value?

If you were planning to get the DLC then I guess it was better ( I wasn't planning on buying the DLC), but it didn't include a physical copy which some people prefer having in addition to the Steam key.

Gah, I was trying not to care about it, but it having online coop might tip me over the edge since there's someone I should be able to play with...

From Dust £2.99 on http://www.greenmangaming.co.uk/ today only.
They also have F.E.A.R. 3 for £4.99 (which is Steamworks).

Different strokes but IMO, yes. For anyone who isn't in the UK and already has an Amazon in their country, the THQ deal was better.
This is still a terrific deal for an absolutely terrific game.

Not exactly the same, but the most popular (at least last time I played) private server for PSO also has support for the PC version which includes everything that the DC version had and more.

We also have a GAF thread about it though it's not particularly active.

That would probably be your best bet to play some PSO while waiting for PSO2.

Just to let you know, my store had made a mistake on the price of the 3DS. It's the Wii that's meant to be £99, so you won't find it that price else where at Morrisons.

Yeah I play on Scthack pretty much daily. To be honest, one of the main reasons is I want to try all the codes I have. I found my old book which I wrote them in.

FALSE. It's possible to withdraw the money only when the items is shipped even using Paypal, Zavvi does that.
Regardless, I don't give a shit if they now have a paypal option, they're fucking liars and if they acted quickly and warned their customers I could have recoup the money. I and my brother are amongst the ones who've lost hundreds of pounds since we couldn't do a charge back, too late for that.
