Do you know if there is an app on Cydia that allows to tweak the iPhone screen white balance? I broke my iPhone screen, had it changed but it is now yellow tinted. I need to add some blue tint to retrieve my previous colors. Any idea?

429 on apple.com/uk. That's really the only place you should be buying an apple product. that being said, for 70 quid more you get a 4S with double the storage space. think about this real hard. I have a feeling the 4S is going to last you *a lot* longer than the 4.

Wait, really? Wow. :o

I don't know what I did when I was drunk on New Years but I woke up and can't seem to get my phone to be on vibrate only. When I press the volume buttons on the side all the way down I can never get the ringer to be on mute, it always just goes down to one "notch". I've gone into sounds settings and tried putting the volume all the way down and I still get a ringtone when someone calls. Anyone got advice on this?

So, I was recently looking at getting an iPhone. $25 for data -- okay, whatever. But fucking SIXTY DOLLARS for voice and text? When I only pay $32.00 with Cricket? No fucking way.

Shit, that must've been some good hooch. You could never turn the volume down to vibrate only on an iphone 4S You can only turn vibrate only on by flipping the switch above the volume biuttons to vibrate only mode.

Is the 4S the first iPhone to have that switch? Man, I love that thing.

Yeah, all iPhones (and iPads) have a mute switch (also can act as a rotation lock switch depending on the software).

Often enough though, I feel the need to turn off the vibration too. Wish there were some simpler way to do it.

Or it'd be nice if I could turn vibrate off but leaving it on for my alarm. But who would need such a feature?!

So I just threw out two screen protectors because there were all these bubbles between them and the screen when I put them on. Fuck, these things suck.

Yea, I buy them in batches on eBay for cheap, so I have multiple tries to get it just right. Fortunately once they're on good you never really have to take them off.

The iPhone4 really doesn't scratch unless you do something stupid like put it in the same pocket as your keys or drop it on concrete (which a screen protector won't help)

The iPhone's glass... doesn't scratch. I've had my 3GS for 2 years and even then, the screen remained (the only thing) pristine. And god knows I've had it in my pocket with lighters, keys, money, what have you.

Really, you have none? I usually just throw it into my bag and I have lots of scratches on mine. They are not very deep or noticeable but they are there.

After over a year with the iPhone 4 I managed to get one microscopic scratch (just a dot) in the middle of the screen. Barely noticeable but I have a screen protector now.

The glass is great though.

I can attest to this. Right after I bought my iPhone 4 a lady at the Verizon store put one on for me. It's still on today and not bubbles have formed. That was back in February.

It scratches. It's just usually the scratches will be fairly minor depending on what you pocket it with. Still, I can see why that would bother some people and I don't fault them for that.

Drops are a bigger concern IMO.

I've found that the back glass collects micro scratches fairly easily but the front is ridiculously tough.

I do keep my phone in a separate pocket from anything else. No point in tempting fate.

Have a slim back-covering case but I'm not a fan of the screen protectors at all. I've never personally seen one that wasn't bubbly, felt weird or did bad things to the optics.

white model gets some dirt buildup around the home button and the edges of the glass

why do you guys use screen protectors? the only thing they should protect against, that being the screen breaking on impact, they really can't...

because jakeleg sales people tell people that they need them. I posted in the thread when i bought my 4s, i actually had a female sales rep tell me i needed a screen protector and that if i didnt get one that i shouldn't let any woman with earings use my phone. I stared at her like this -_-

fwiw none of my iPods got this grimy and I had them for years.

welcome to the wonderful world of all things that are white.

as pretty as it is to look at in the beginning, it gets unbelievably gross over time.

Clean it. Are you guys just not clean people. Mine is day one and still looks emaculate. Do you guys not wash your jeans? Whats up with this. Its glass, the whie wont get dirty or fade or. W.e if theres dirt. Clean it. Duh.

I keep mine in an iPod sock. Never looks like it has smudges, all ports are still clean as fuck and no dirt in sight. No other case or screen film.

I have better hygiene than anyone here. The phone itself is fine, it's only the tiny tiny ridge where the glass meets the edge. I can't see it right now as I'm typing this on the phone, it only becomes visible upon extremely close inspection.

And there is no way to clean it, save for removing the glass panel completely. it's that small.

Than ANYONE? Really? Im glad you spend your days stalking GAFers so you know when we brush, shower, wash our hands ect.

In any case like I said. Mine is oerfect. Not a bit of dirt, dust ect that I can se. I dont let my tech get gross.

because you touch and use your iPhone way more than you would an iPod. All that grease collecting on the display with the added bonus of all the dust in the atmosphere will do their part.

Yes, the glass will most likely remain immaculate, but the dust underneath will be a lot more visible on a white iPhone.

Giant-Macro-Image I just took of what I'm talking about.

This. This is impossible to clean. Its like one step away from those watertight cracks in a windshield. Thats how small it is. But there is buildup. I find it hard to imagine your device does not have something similar.

yup, exactly why I will always buy black when it comes to stuff I hold in my hand half the fucking time.

I don't have anything like that going on in my white phone, but I don't at all doubt that it's entirely possible, and would certainly be much more noticeable on the white phone versus the black.

Use a brush with some cleaner thats touch safe in other words no alcohol. I use a tough screen brush and cleaner.

Can you link me to what product you use? I have a mac/screen cleaning kit I got from apple.com years ago but I can't imagine any sort of brush being fine enough to get inside that crack.

My 3GS had 3 scratches on the screen when I sold it. And I had it for less than 3 months (it was my 3rd replacement).

That's the reason I bought a screen protector for my 4S.
