NFL 2011 Wild Card |OT| Where Everyone Is In Like Flynn

The most single-minded of the Michigan fanbase will, but I'm not so sure about the national stage. I recall a lot of people complaining that Michigan didn't really deserve the BCS nod that it received in the first place, and I didn't see anything on the field tonight to silence that opinion. I think a lot of people will look back at this game and see it as a real dog.

I can pretty say that LSU - Alabama game is going to be a dud.

BTW, you know Jr Hemm/Robinson has done this crazy thing before. it's all about winning at the end of the day.

Especially being a lions fan, I don't care about style points.

I am an alum also.

Well, that actually does make sense, because style points don't have anything to do with the way your season operates in the pros. When college football is determined by voted polls partially deciding your ranks, though, there is something to be said of it. Anyway, all these bowl games are are a showpiece for your team and in that respect I don't think that Michigan did themselves any favors from a perspective standpoint. On a personal level it just makes the sports talk radio around here much more annoying to listen to from my perspective.

How many years does P. manning have left?

I'd say 0-5. He wants to play but no one is sure he even will be able to at this point last I read. I'd like him to stay in Indy and am still hopeful he might given Irsay saying it's going to be a 'family decision' and not a 'football decision.'

Kind of terrifying to be honest. I just fear if he takes one solid hit (which is plausible behind that O-line), he is going to be in real trouble. I don't particularly like the Colts, but I don't ever want to see a player in a career or life threatening position. I'm nervous for Manning no matter what he chooses

It's been funny having Bob Kravitz go on a media blitz basically celebrating his victory over Bill Polian. Kravitz seems to think they'll take Luck

Two. He has neck AIDS, he's pretty much done. Combined with coaching turmoil, he'll only make the playoffs once.

I'm just gonna stay out of Zelda threads completely, mods are WAY too quick to ban.
At least amir0x is not a mod anymore, he was the worst.

I don't have the balls to make a thread about it, but I think we should have a policy of ostracism on GAF like the ancient Greeks did. Every year, Gaf votes on the mod they hate the most and that mod gets banned from gaf. I know who would get MY vote.

That thread would be locked real quick, lol.
I'd vote to make amir0x a mod again just to have to him get the most votes so he'd be banned.

So I came by this Mock draft.

1. Indianapolis Colts: Andrew Luck (QB-Stanford)- Indy is ready to turn the page on the Bill Polian/Peyton Manning era by bringing an NFL-ready prospect with the arm, mind and athleticism of a future Hall-of-Fame inductee.

Seriously?! Dude can throw a football, but damn.

No doubt. We're coming for you, Kev!!

What? Why?

I hope Falcons fans realize that we're more likely to promote Bob Bratkowski than hire someone outside the fold if Mularkey leaves.

Sadly, I feel you are right. :-/

One of my big fears for Saturday is us going into the no huddle and Ryan calling a bunch of failed passing plays that ends up with us getting away from the run game.

give me a fucking break, TJ yates couldn't hold alex smiths jock. yates started 1/3rd the games of alex, had almost as many turnovers and had just as many losses. yates is a fucking joke. there is only one QB on your roster that can take you to the superbowl but your coaching staff is too fucking stupid to realize it

Not the Raven game, he rushed 20 times for 46 yards. Yeah, he banged in two TDs from short yardage, but he has been unable to do that this year. He played better against the Jets but that game was won with the Steeler defense early. I don't hate or love Mendy. He's average IMO. If the line is blocking well, he's good. And if they're struggling, he's completely a non factor.

He has 9 TD's on the season while being injured, behind a patchwork O-line, and not nearly getting the carries he had the season before. One game this season he had over 20 carries; he had 140 yards and a TD. He just didn't get the work because the Steelers are now a passing team.

lulz, the bet was that the texans would either win or lose. i honestly don't give a shit about what two crappy teams do. truth of the matter is most AFC teams wouldn't even be participating in the playoffs in the NFC. our #3 seed would be a #1 seed in the afc. the texans and bengals would be drafting top 5 if they played in the NFC

i can't wait for your 49ers to sink back to garbage Tampa Bay style

Indeed. I've always liked him because he can have some really great games, but his performance in the Super Bowl solidified my view that he is just not the type of RB that the Steelers need in our current offensive scheme. He's neither a pounding back that fights for yardage like Bettis or a dynamic back/receiver like Sproles. He's a two yards a run back who barely gets out in the open anymore, and he fumbles much more than I'm comfortable with.

I like him, I really do, and I'd like him to stay on as possibly a third down back, but we need someone much more like Sproles in this day and age.

Mendenhall is a 24 year old RB who is quick and elusive. He doesn't pound for yardage but he can break big plays when given the opportunity. They just weren't there this season due to different factors. We both know that Arians doesn't even utilize screens and his RB well; if we had a Sproles type he would never use him properly.

At this rate there wont be any Packer fans left by the Super Bowl. Not that the Packers will make it to the SB. I'm just saying there wont be any left here to watch the Saints take on the Patriots in the SB.

I don't want to make excuses for Mendenhall as I think he has a work ethic problem but Arians sucks at drawing up run plays. He defers to Ben's arm so much that his formation looks give up the play often before the ball is snapped. Seems the opponent always has 8 in the box on designed runs and the O-line isn't physical enough to bull them out of the way. They rarely use any zone blocking schemes either.

Arians is horrendous at it. Just imagine having a fullback like Leach, for instance, blocking for him. Arians screen game to his running backs is also non-existent. He loves the quick WR screen though; god does Arians frustrate me. I swear we win in spite of him.
