Thanks Houston! Winning was exactly what we wanted. Now, we get the pleasure of crushing you at home, and advancing to the AFC Championship. Good win today, but we aren't Cincy, we're a real team. We beat you once, we'll beat you again. TJ Yates doesn't have a chance.

So Texans-GAF, be prepared for a delightful week of lead up and post victory shit talking.

Congrats for your first playoff win, and can't wait to serve you your first playoff loss.

Only chance for Houston is if Flacco losses it for you

Stafford made some bewildering decisions during crunch time at the end there, but I think he still does have room to improve, especially once he has a running game and doesn't feel like he needs to force anything and everything in order to score. I'm fine with him being our quarterback heading into future years. Megatron is Megatron, obviously, and while not a stud rookie like AJ Green or Julio "The Alien" Jones, Titus Young came on pretty strong during the second half of the year and it's looking like he can be a nice compliment too, going along with Pettigrew and Scheffler, and Burleson for however long he's still around. The offense will be in fine shape so long as we can procure or develop a good run-blocker. I look forward to seeing what the likes of Jason Fox and Corey Hilliard can grow into with another year's experience, with Backus and Raiola aging.

The defense, though...hoo boy. A little more firepower on the front line would help, but our linebackers still feel like they need a step up and the secondary kind of speaks for itself. We can still make marked improvement at pretty much every position, which is a difficult prospect going into the offseason. I'm very curious to see how the front office handles this.

there were quite a few 3rd down conversions/big plays where the lions had guys in position, and then they would just do one of the following:

1. missed tackle
2. a guy is in zone and as the play progresses he drifts back to the inside WHEN THERE IS ALREADY A GUY IN A ZONE THERE! now the receiver clears him and there is no one out there
3. have brees in a good position to hit him and they just can't get to him. part of this is brees but there were a couple times where the lions were just on their stomaches, inches away from brees. stay on your feet and make the play

unfortunately for the lions, you can't really give a dangerous offense those types of plays. i'm just glad the niners were already eliminated so we don't have to face this unstoppable new orleans offense and their new found best running game of all time

no, you're wrong per your usual, it was clearly the refs. Thats why detroit lost.

Cam Newton holds the record breaking for a rookie QB against packers. Are packers good?

You may want to let it go, you don't really have a fight here. The Lions had a pretty damn good season, but consider this:

1. You never beat GB once this season
2. You just got bounced.

Just say Fuck you Packers and be done with it.

Yes. but people aren't using the fact that Cam broke records against them as a one of the signs that they are good. Things like the fact that they are the defending Superbowl champions, are 15-1 this season, etc. are the reasons why people claim they're good.

You on the other hand, pretty much said that its no shame to lose to a record breaking QB when the reality is that Flynn only broke the record by playing your atrocious defense.

At first read this post doesn't make sense, (it's like, duh?) but it does because it uses what beast was arguing.. or something

Well looks like we have an answer for Tebow's replacement.

Who the hell is talking about packers?

I said congrats to the saints, the best team in the NFC in my first post.

Then something about bears fan talking about how honorable it was to not be in a playoffs.

This...has actually been a problem that I've noted at times throughout the season. There have been a lot of QBs that actually did get pressured, only to find ways to slip away and buy enough time to make things happen downfield. It infuriated me during the first game against the Bears in particular. Front 4 was definitely our most overrated unit this year, relative to preseason expectations. There are a lot of players on that unit with potential...up to them to actually rise up to hit.

Newsflash: I was born in Grand Rapids, MI and have the birth cert to prove it and lived there till I was 4 1/2 before getting usurped by my parents and moving to the crappy northeast. Packers LLers are belligerent, band-wagoning shmups that latched onto the team during Britt's heyday. I doubt more than 1 or 2 of you have any ties at all to Wisconsin or Green Bay. You picked the team up during Britt's run and that was that.

All of your ostentatious well-wishes to the Saints read like a child putting on a show in the hopes of attracting the attention of an otherwise pre-occupied daddy.
In this case, that daddy being the Packers.

The late 90's?

..bandwagoners?

It is almost impossible to get pressure with just 4 against good teams. You have to mix it up. And that is where we suck balls. We are one of the lowest blitzing team in the NFL.

You cant rely on just 4 men pressure. Which can be easily neutralize by back and TE clipping on the outside and double teams in the inside.

Biggest dissapoint for me was stopping the run.

Awesome. Now do every other team! We need to be prepared!

Browns call dibzies. Since I live nearby, my wife's parents need something to keep their Browns anger suppressed. Pretty sure they need to address the WR position in the draft, but I don't really keep up with all their personnel.

Best team in the NFC is the Packers, #1 seed says hello.

Maybe it's just me, or maybe it's just the rum I'm now drinking in copious amounts after the Lions lost, but my suspicion is that the Packers and 49ers are going to meet in the NFC Championship game....and San Fran will take it. But I don't know if I can bring myself to root for the 49ers in the Super Bowl! I don't think my heart could take it! D:

We lost to saints big, have congratulated its fan base in GAF.The teams we have played so far, they are the best IMO. Am I the only person who thinks they are playing the best?

I think the 49ers have a significantly better shot to beat the Packers in GB than the Saints do, personally.

Since we've already beaten the Saints I'd like to play the 49'ers to complete the full rape of the NFC though.

I think the weather forecast is supposed to be warm and sunny in SF next weekend.
Not sure how that relates to my post?

Saints winning on the road in SF? lol

I hope they do because there is zero chance they win in a cold GB, but it isn't happening.
Just like how 'Fatford' wouldn't be able to put up any points @ Lambeau because of the dome/turf right? The Saints are a better team than the Lions, at least defensively, so don't think it'll be that impossible.
