Haha. I give as good as I get and although I'm only like 5'10" I have quite a strong build. I don't get pushed around easily!
.

Haha you do better than me then mate.

I remember an old pair of boots I had. Diaddora ones. They were all black but the logo was flourescent green. I felt like a right cock.

I am hilariously shit at football too which doesn't help.

Crazy Real doesn't want him, we'll take him.

Cardozo scored one too.[/QUOTE]

Cardozo* I swear I know his name :P He's seriously underrated.

It's always good business to buy Real Madrid's rejects.

Purple boots are a sure fire way to get nailed to the nearest 5-a-side wooden barriers where I come from.

God speed, dc.

Haha, yes.

I remember back when I was about 10 I went to All Sports (remember that place) to get some new boots and I came back with some White Adidas ones, no doubt inspired by David Beckham (this was just before the 2002 World Cup). The look of utter disgust on my Step Dad's face told me all I needed to know.

It's been black boots ever since, although I stopped playing 11 a side football when I was 15 because I got a job at the weekends, and I needed a day to visit my Dad. My favourite boots were the Black and Red predators around 2004ish. They were fantastic.

Don't think I could hack 11 a side today anyway, what with all the Lime Green, Purple and Orange boots doing the rounds. I'd see red within minutes for what I'd describe as a professional foul.

I'll stick to 5 a side where I don't have to run as much and the small pitch diameters make me look like Pele.

So are Barca fans really going to get this depressed over a 5 point lead? Claiming the league is over is reeeaaalllly premature people.

Madrid's scorelines rarely tell the whole story. They're always shaky in some parts of games, and if Iker is not in god mode, they do concede, time and again.

I like Madrid, always have. They've got a lot of players who I admire as athletes and personalities, but they won't be as consistent as Barca (or rather Messi) this season when we get to May.

I don't think I'm needed in a 5-a-aside.
Deep-lying playmaker

:(

If you can defend as well you'd be great at 5 a side.

This is with 5 a side you need to be quite mobile but someone who can pass really well comes into their own.

I'm quite good at defending and I'm pacy too so I can often tackle, win the ball and carry it up the pitch and hold it up for a team mate etc.

I love playing, it's fantastic.

I used to juggle 6 aside with my sunday league football. The 6 aside team folded, despite on the path to winning the division we were in. Now I just focus on my sunday league football. Returned to action yesterday, lost 3-2. Not happy as we were 2-0 up and in the last 10 minutes of the first half, crazy shit happened and bam, 3 goals let in. Sums up our season really.

Football can be depressing.

BERLIN, Jan 9 (Reuters) - Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich and champions Borussia Dortmund were locked in a war of words on Monday days after the latter snapped up forward Marco Reus, long a target for the Bavarians.

The 22-year-old Borussia Moenchengladbach and Germany forward, who has scored 10 goals this season, agreed last week to join Dortmund at the end of the season in a five-year deal that is the biggest so far in the winter transfer period.

"Dortmund have been successful in keeping up with their own understated position," Bayern sports director Christian Nerlinger told Bild newspaper. "This is now finished with this transfer. It is a whole new step."

Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes said Bayern had had a string of rivals over the years but remained top of the heap as challenges from clubs such as Werder Bremen, Gladbach and Dortmund faded after a few seasons.

"Let's wait and see how long they can keep moving on this level," Heynckes told reporters.
Dortmund, surprisingly dominant champions last season and in second place three points behind Bayern in the current campaign, have repeatedly played down their chances of defending the title, saying they would be happy with a finish that would secure them European football next season.

"Have no fear. When we decide to change our strategy we will make sure to let Mr Nerlinger know," Dortmund coach Juergen Klopp told reporters in response.

The 1997 Champions League winners have come back from the brink of financial ruin a few years ago to become Bayern's biggest title rivals in recent seasons.

Reus's reported 17-million-euro transfer only underlines their ambition for a more permanent place at the top of the Bundesliga.

I think you need to be fitter to play 5 a side. At least if it's competitive 5 a side anyway. Infact in general, at the level most of us probably play at...I think you need to be a better player to do well in 5 a side than 11 a side.

I play both and you see some rubbish players playing 11 a side, but because they are big/strong/quick they can hold their own. They would get nowhere playing 5 a side with a poor touch and bad discipline, if you let your man go even a second early in 5 a side it's curtains...probably will result in a goal.

I enjoy 5 a side, it's so quick paced and physically demanding, but nothing can beat 11 a side for me, it's "real football".

My boots are blue. My turfs are green. Come at me bros.

Aye, 5/6 aside is also visually more appealing. If pulled off correctly, quick and snappy passing/movement can look sexy as fuck, especially if a goal is at the end of it. It's much more tight so it relies a lot more on 2/3 touch football than an 11 aside game.

Despite that, I would never drop 11 aside in favour of it though. A full game of football is always a great experience. I'd enjoy it more if I weren't a right back. :lol

He didn't join us because Reus demanded a starting spot at Bayern, to which they did not agree to. He would have to compete with Robben, Ribéry, Mueller, Kroos for a spot. We don't need him.

Full back can be a really fun position to play, though I think it depends on how good you're team is. If you're playing in a good team the full backs get alot of time on the ball and get to push on forwards, can be good. You're usually up against really good quick players though, mastering the professional foul is a must!

According to twitter (fucking lol) we've had a £6 million bid for Hoilett accepted following a transfer request.

If there is any truth to that, it could well be the deal of the window.

Indeed. I've been a striker/winger for the majority of my life, with this season my first as a right back.

Unfortunately my team are more fond of the hoof ball tactic than using the wings to full effect. Can be frustrating as I'm fiercely competitive and critical on performances.

I read that on rawk so it's probably not true! We'll buy Brian Deane for £19m instead.

In the event that it doesn't turn out to be bullshit, that would be a fantastic bit of business. The guy's quality; whoever does end up getting him won't be disappointed, especially not for £6 million.

I hate it when I'm writing an essay and I make great progress, I think I'm halfway finished, then I highlight my text and I'm on 500 words. Fuck. Might just sack it off for today and prepare for Henry's return.

I was wondering why we weren't linked to him earlier, Blackburn were willing to sell and we don't have a right winger. It'd be a great signing, but yeah.

Re: 5-a-side, maybe it's because I'm shit but I much prefer 11-a-side. I usually play on the wing and put in crosses, or take lots of shots from long distances. I look awful when the pitch and goals are lessened

I prefer 11-a-side too. But I'm usually the ref - it gives a decent pay :)

Theres a video on Youtube somewhere which is split in to 3, 10 minute parts which is the story of Messi.

They interview his family, his teachers, his football coaches and all sorts. It's all in Spanish but it has English subs and it's very, very interesting. It's filled with footage of him playing football when he was a kid, he was insanely good for his age.

Bjaelke = Chris Foy confirmed.

I've made very few mistakes...that I'm aware of. I guess that sorta makes me Chris Foy. It's not exactly premier league referring though. I often see the players down at the local pub after the game and have a drink or two with them.

You can see traits forming in a player even at young age. You know you have something 'good' when a 7-8 year old shows composure on the ball and basically looks like a 4' professional footballer.

Answers the question why I never flourished.

As a young'un I had real problems with composure and it affected my touch greatly. I'm class now of course.

You're not really leaving it up to him - you've made numerous posts about his, and other City fans, reaction to the game. They're not happy they lost - they're proud of the effort their side put in against the PL Champions and Champions League finalists from last season - with 10 men for 80 minutes.

And his point is his side DID show fight and could have won the game - United showed none and got smashed at home. I know I'd rather be on the losing end of a narrow 3-2 defeat than lose 6-1 at home to my closest rivals.

Spot on IMO.

holy shit! that's awesome :D i googled "he mad" and this pic came up lol http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&f...urce=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=ZhYLT4jBBurw0gGU6uikAg

Well, ultimately it still comes down to how much time is spent in the formative years.

10,000 hours is considered the 'golden' amount to become pro at 'anything', according to some publishers (see 'Bounce' and 'Talent Code').
Having seen Academy players in action it does blow you mind how gifted some of these players are already. Just need the right coaching, nurturing and patience to help them along the way.

Ibra is legend. But Ibra has shitty luck.
It really isn't. There's a reason Mou sold him, he's just terrible in Europe.
