They need to change that singletouch resistive into multitouch capacitive. Now.
multitouch hasn't been invented 5 years ago.

No. Get a real tablet. And I don't mean "tablet" as in iPad or other such toys, I mean Wacom tablets. The input devices you connect to real computers.
I think the Wii looked fine, and the WiiU looks OK, if a bit similar to an external HDD. But that controller..
I completely forgot this thing doesn't have multitouch.
Dumb, dumb dumb.
Anything that you can zoom into. Like a map, or a view, or anything. Which is kind of the point of the Wii U, isn't it?

I wish it were see through. Then we could see the little pikmin running in their wheels like hamsters.shit, i wish the wii u were purple.
Yes, because zooming on touchscreens was impossible until Apple invented the iPhone. You'll basically never use more than your right thumb to touch the screen. And I'm almost 100% certain you only have a single right thumb.Anything that you can zoom into. Like a map, or a view, or anything. Which is kind of the point of the Wii U, isn't it?
lools like a toy, just like wii did. Yeah in that little thing is a beast processor and beast GPU roll my eyes.
On other side maybe it's fun to play with, definitely not my thing, since Nintendo seems to be taking same direction.

Buttons and sticks.

Is this the promised re-unveiling of the console? Cause it looks an awful lot like what we saw back at E3.
Don't mind the controller but the console does look like a HDD, the horrors! I'm sure it will be re-designed by E3...
I'm certain they tested the upad with sticks before deciding to go with slide pads. I hope
Nintendo added the speaker for the Wii remote, as well as refined its design to be sleeker overall from its first show. Maybe there's something up their sleeve again that they will want to reveal at a later date.People hoping for redesigns

I'm sure they did too. And somebody said, "Fuck it, it's good enough. Look at how cool and svelte the sliders are. We're going with that."
Plus, if they're the same size as the 3DS slider, they can have one production line manufacturing their "sticks." Further savings realized.
Wait what is Nintendo's reason for doing resistive single-touch?

Everybody, shutup and listen!
The Wii U will look different at E3, and any major concerns will have been fixed by then.
The backlight is fine. The OP photo is a bad one.
Nintendo said the CES models are identical to the 2011 E3 models.
Okay?
Cool.

Cheapest option possible I guess.Wait what is Nintendo's reason for doing resistive single-touch?
-slidepads instead of normal analogs
-ackward positioning of ABXY buttons
-resistive touch screen
-xbox HUGE
why, fucking why? Why can't it be more like this:

Why, why, oh why?
I don't think anybody asked yet.Wait what is Nintendo's reason for doing resistive single-touch?

I wish more people would read this.
Huh? What re-unveiling? Wasn't this supposed to be for people who missed the E3 demos?

If nothing else the Slide Pad could mean that the Controller might be expensiveWhy did they have to include slide pads? if anything I hope that changes more than anything else
You can play the game without the use of the TV, or by using them bothSolid_Rain said:Forgive me, but I still don't know why I need a screen - especially of that size - on a controller.
Well that's... I don't know more of an addition than a redesign right? In retrospect, the changes weren't that big imo regarding the Wiimote.Nintendo added the speaker for the Wii remote, as well as refined its design to be sleeker overall from its first show. Maybe there's something up their sleeve again that they will want to reveal at a later date.

What about them? They're meant to control the game on the TV, not the touchscreen.
But yes, let's press a ZOOM icon repeatedly instead of pinching and pulling the screen like every single tablet on the market to date.
People complaining about the look, lol. Looks like a video game console to me.
