I still think N'Zogbia was a good signing at £9 million. He just not in good form at the moment. I don't watch enough of Villa to say whether that is McLeish's fault or not.

I would have agreed with exactly what you said at the start of the season. He hasn't played well once from what I remember.

holy shit. apparently berlusconi stepped in and blocked the tevez and pato deals.

what a guy, looking out for his daughter. :)

i'm not too sad if we don't get tevez, we don't really need him tbqh. give el-shaarawy more playing time plz.
Oh wow, Pato and Berlucunt may very well be dead to those qatari guys. Imagine if Berlu made Pato step out of the deal after some handshake ? Would be not good...

Predictions added to the OP (2nd post)

If you made a prediction and its not in the list, PM me the post and I'll add it. For fairness, I wont add it if it was posted/edited after 13/08/11

Edit* Wilbury, what post number were those predictions at?

Yeah, if we don't then I wouldn't be pissed at all at Spurs winning. They've been fantastic this season. Highly doubt they will though.

Looking through OT1, some predictions!:

I still say that at the beginning of the season Villareal was a very strong team. Very solid. The fact that Cazorla went to Malaga and Rossi and Nilmar got early njured destroyed completely the team's power.

Dunno if you guys have seen this but it's pretty funny.

Number 3 on top news is HUGE NEWS!

Sorry for crap resolution, found on another site.
What's funny is "Torres scores bicycle kick in training" was something Chelsea boasted about.

Wow.. extraordinary stuff.

So lets say Moyes leaves for whatever reason. Who comes into Everton right now and does a better job?

That is the thing, none. Its a lose-lose situation we are in right now. Hopefully, Moyes is making the players play awful on porpuse so he could get a cashflow from somewhere. If that is not the case, god help us, because as things stands, we could become the next Chralton/Sheffiled Wednesday/Leeds/Etc...

Why do you blame Moyes? He is a good coach. Look at the money he has at his disposal. How many players have Everton added in the last 2-3 years (I forget exactly how long it's been since their financial troubles began) and what was the total monetary expenditure? Blame the owner. If he doesn't have the financial resources to support a successful Premier League team, he needs to sell to someone who does.

He's in a shitty situation but he's not free from blame. His squad selections have been horrible this year. He repeatedly plays Osman outside when he is much more effective playing off the striker. This is largely because he refuses to drop Cahill, who can't score for his life anymore and offers nothing to the team otherwise. Vellios has been exiled to the reserves after leading the team in goals while playing 1/10th the minutes of Saha or Cahill.

Barkley looked fantastic in preseason and against QPR, then Moyes benches him for one bad play against Blackburn. He's fielded a central midfield of Neville and Heitinga at least 3-4 times this year. Saha has been dreadful, yet finds himself starting every week. He still doesn't trust Drenthe, yet he is the only player who ever looks like creating anything when he is on the field. Bilyaletdinov continues to drag down Baines' level of play whenever they play on the left together, yet is still getting starts over Gueye, who's looked good enough in the few minutes he's been given this year. Now Anichebe is back in the squad and won't be due another goal until 2014.

Everton still have plenty of good players, but you would never know it from watching.

We seem to be linked with a lot of 17 year olds. I'm all for youth development, but I would like to see something exciting being hinted at for our first team.

I don't understand the point of buying these young players if they aren't being given the chance. Liverpool have a bunch of young forwards which I'm sure given the chance would do much better than what Carroll is doing now.

ok i will clarify things for everyone regarding today's events.

we were going to fund the tevez transfer with the money we got from selling pato to PSG. however, pato came out and publicly announced a couple of hours ago, probably after threats of no more sex from barbara, that he has zero intention of leaving milan. there are also indications that berlucunt himself got involved to stop the pato sale but that is unconfirmed.

so galliani said the deal has now been "interrupted," presumably because of lacks of funds. right now there are two possibilities:

1. galliani and berlucunt are scheming to force city to accept a shittier bid closer to january 31.
2. we are really broke and won't be signing tevez at all because we don't have the pato money

Sporting won´t let Wolfswinkel go for less than 20 million €. He´s the only good striker that we have and he just arrived in the summer.

It would be stupid of us to let him go right now. I think he still has a lot of time left with us. If he goes anywhere, I'd want him to go to ManU

Tevez can now enjoy the rest of his holiday in Argentina.

Can't wait for City to sue him for breach of contract when he's gone though. He owes City a LOT of money.

My predictions aren't looking too bad at all.

However, only 2 people placed Tottenham in the top 4 - Ushojax and dc89.

I think dc89 will get the closest to getting the top 4 right so far.

Did I go with City, United, Tottenham & Chelsea in no particular order?

Edit: looked at OP.

1. United
2. City
3. Chelsea
4. Tottenham

I did a bet with some coworkers before the start of the sesaon to predict the top 10. Mine were:

1. Man Utd
2. Man City
3. Chelsea
4. Tottenham
5. Arsenal
6. Liverpool
7. Everton
8. Stoke City
9. Sunderland
10. Aston Villa

I have the e-mail to prove it!

Struggling to understand either of them tbh.

It's hard to understand Mancini, tbh.

Gerrard "You say to the press that Wayne Rooney tried to get Kompany sent off - and you try to get Johnson sent off."

Mancini “I say what I want" "yes, yes”

And according to youtube comments..Mancini wants frosties? :P

The problem there though is that us and Leeds were both sunk by off the field issues. We were ran almost into the ground and Leeds' problems with Risdale are well documented. We've had some terrible managers in the last decade - Alan Irvine being one of the worst, which might be of interest to Everton fans - but it was always boardroom issues that cost us.

Surely its the same issue at Everton. Moyes may make some poor decisions in your eyes, but surely there's a bigger picture here? He seems to have spent what little money he's had available well and Everton haven't seriously been considered relegation fodder for years, which frankly is a minor miracle when you consider the sheer lack of investment in that side.

Everton have got problems that run pretty deep, but if you do become the next Wednesday or Leeds it won't be because of Moyes.
