a kill is a kill. It is a team effort in alot of cases so if a support gets the kill because the carry couldnt last hit in time then its fine. However, a carry getting the kills would help more

Yeah for sure.

But, there's nothing more frustrating then consistently having easy kills stolen from me when I'm a carry. If it looks like they have a chance of getting away, it's fine, but I've had more than one game where I had a number of super easy ganks and someone would nuke the enemy and take the kill from me and it can be really, really crippling. It only gets harder and harder as other people get more relatively farmed than me. Guh.

nothing arrogant about REEL TAWK

You're a tawk.

I hope this is the most updated version of the list for the tournament.

intentional ks is one thing and team kill is another thing. You sound like you dont like people ksing you

Sanjay, why would you max Curse before Glaives when you went Last Word first?

They all had low cost spammable skills, Curse is nearly useless.

Skill 1 is never useless, good in team fights forces people to use skills when they don't want to or else lose their mana and combo that with his ulti good way to take peoples mana but no matter what my build I went would have not mattered. Having no stuns on your team sucks if your Silencer.

My Pudge has improved a hell of a lot. The next game I went 9/1/7. In the one in this screenshot though, the other team wasn't very good too. Their Ursa has clearly never played Ursa before, as he never did Roshan.

So I'll be able to play this for the weekend, using my friend's account.
How can I get in on some GAF games? I'm not a noob, been playing HoN for a long while.

Ancient Apparition, so good. Finally broke my MOBA-gamegenre-wide losing streak.

Also, I need more insight on Tranquil Boots. The description says it transforms into Boots of Speed when attacked 3 times insides 10 seconds, but elsewise, does it give any movement speed bonus? Cause it's not listed if it does.

Meaning, is it actually viable to go Tranquil Boots (for +3 Armor and that sweet sweet health regen) AND buy Power Threads (or other)? As in, unless you get attacked repeatedly, there is no boots stacking per se?

EDIT : So according to the Wiki, the Tranquil Boots do give you Movement Speed...it's not listed ingame though. Kind of pressing to fix that lol

Huh? That's how you get better..

There's such a thing as getting stomped too hard to learn whatsoever.

I'd recommand starting out by getting stomped by Neki, for instance. Gives you more room for mistakes, more room to play and learn, and more room for salt.

Then when you graduate, you can go against Milkman!

This is what I was talking about earlier - Storm Spirit as a ball of light lol. His outline would show up if I hovered over him though, cool

Best game of the day, after 3 stomps of games of inhousing we got this gem, Milkman and co vs Hongaf:-

But when you get a good game the shit talking comes out but hey his Storm Spirit was pretty pimpin.

Dazzle was a poor choice, I wish I had clicked Lich faster.

What was even better was the primacy of armor, makes the late game crazier and even more high stakes. They picked Slardar and Dazzle to counter Dragon Knight's tankiness, I picked Lich to deny XP to Void and to counter their armor counters, DK built an Assault Cuirass, etc. I'd say we decidedly came out on top in those terms, Dragon became so ridiculously tanky that he could buy us all the time we needed in teamfights to get our ultimates off and focus people down.

Hmm, power treads are pretty expensive to be getting after other boots. Would you be planning on selling the Tranquils beforehand, using them early?

Not at all, his Weave can be a great counter to DK's dragon blood.

That was a fun game; I felt like we had it rolling early game but we threw a lot of team fights in our rabid "push" phase. Too bad bzm dodged and loki/swiftlame weren't on, but I think we played pretty well considering I have 18 games of DOTA 2 and I haven't played with haly, neki, or astroboy in over 2 months. But seriously, we didn't trash talk at all before or after that game--swiftx and xanthes (?) kept trash talking early, and I cracked a your mom joke on him--think that sent him over the edge. And Botolf, we didn't counterpick anything xD, we had no idea what we were doing hero wise; we just picked what we felt like playing.

It was way too slow (you'll notice that, despite weaving DK every time, we rarely if ever managed to kill him). What we needed there were stuns and damage, not healing and turtle's pace armor degen.

Even VS would've been better.

Swift talking shit I can understand, I don't know what the fuck is up with Xanthe though.

A case of miscommunication, Swift said "GLHF" at the start of the game and Mint replied "STFU"

When it was just typical HoN fake trash talk, bokr being bokr.

Uhh, I never said that. Unless I said it in response to one of Xanthe's idiotic comments, and it popped right under that.

Eh, don't think VS would have been much of an improvement. Very short stun, negative armor overtaken by Weave if a teamfight lasts longer than 5 seconds. The swap could have created some situations where you could 4v5, but even still, DK was snowballing hard. Storm Spirit wouldn't have been something to sniff at either. Once the AC went up and there was no counter built on your own team, our team durability vastly overtook yours and your accumulation of damage items on Slardar and Void came to naught. You needed that armor gap to stay close.

naw, it was the tidehunter + lich ult that was holding you guys above water during early team fights. without one or the other, game would have been easy.

Big teamfight ults certainly were key early, but armor became more and more important the longer the game lasted. The Dire elected to build some hexes and damage, we elected for our own hexes and widened the armor gap significantly. Both defensively and offensively through the cuirass, with the Euls I could keep the entire team frost armored for free and at all times when combat was imminent, and a few of us were stacking armor with individual pieces on top of that. We held early and transitioned into the late game with some serious durability, the Dire's paled in comparison.

Should have just tried to cc Lich and not Tide, Lich only had 1khp. The teamfights them selves could have gone anyway defending on one mistake alone from any player.

It wasn't only that though, going for hero kills mid when you could have taken mid racks was a major turning point.

When void caught milkman behind the mid racks with his ulti but he also caught two of his own teammates too and Lich walked up and used ulti and killed Sand King. Milkman just bought back and turned that fight around and from that is when they took both your mid and bot racks.

And even then after that you guys actually won the next teamfight when they tried to take top.

But the next time round you guys tried to defend top Void blinked in and never used his bkb or ulti and got sheeped by Swift and got dropped.

Man not seen a good IH game like this since when HoNGaf used to play HoN.

For those who care, the Defense is going to screw Tournament mode and is going to use the 6.73 mode for the rest of the Tournament.

I like the new orchid but I realized SS needs a mana/hp pool more than he needs the silence/attack speed.

That inhouse match was a ton of fun, and I'm really looking forward to some more games with HoN-gaf. First thing first, sorry for Swift blowing up like that. Like Sanjay said, there was some miscommunication where Swift thought you were saying "STFU" to him and he took it to heart. He's a really cool guy, just gets heated when the trash talk starts flowing. I wish I could say the same for Xanthe though, I've only played a single mm game with him where he did very well, didn't know he had a vendetta against HoN-gaf and honestly I'm kind of embarrassed that he acted like that. So I'm sorry if he soured the game for you guys and hopefully that won't keep you away from playing more Dota 2.

You sure you guys didn't try to counterpick though ;)? Maybe not you specifically, but Slardar and Dazzle seemed like obvious responses to my Dragon Knight first pick for their massive negative armor skills.

Otherwise, some thoughts that haven't been mentioned already that I had after the game:
-Great response to swap procarbine bottom and put the dual stun lane mid, that really slaughtered my farm early game.
-What happened midgame though? Zero smoke gangs and Void's farm slowed down bigtime. I was able to happily farm vanguard/radiance/hyperstone because lanes were constantly pushed yet Dire did nothing to capitalize on their map control.
-Good plays by Botolf, Termyte, and Hyuna, they kept us in the match early until Storm and I could get our big items and start being serious threats.
-You guys really wanted me dead, but chronoing and killing Tide and/or Lich first in fights before they get their ultis off would have gone much farther than blowing all your ults and stuns to try and kill me (and half the time even with ults you couldn't take me out).
-Neki suicided twice mid in an attempt to kill me early!
-Pro had some *great* silences in there.
-Like Botolf said, we eventually reached a critical mass of armor where you guys really struggled to hurt us.
-Big shoutouts to Neki and Astro for both of you somehow missing your stuns on Tide in that fight at our Tier 2 mid tower :lol

Too bad bzm dodged and loki/swiftlame weren't on, but I think we played pretty well considering I have 18 games of DOTA 2 and I haven't played with haly, neki, or astroboy in over 2 months.

Overall awesome match, especially for a game that you don't play regularly. To be fair though, Hyuna just got back from Hong Kong after 3 weeks and Swift hasn't played any Dota in 2 weeks or so. Definitely looking forward to matches when everyone has their core players and are warmed up to the game.

From what I have gathered, Slardar was a DK Counter Pick, while Dazzle was picked without taking DK specifically into account.

Yeah we reverted to the HoN "push for the win" meta (middle?) game (in HoN, pushing is everything now--afk ricing has it's place but is becoming rarer by the day) and I spent way too much time trying to be in team fights or set up a push. My entire HoN playstyle used to be afk ricing until recently (past 2 months or so) where I've avoided hard carries like the plague. Farming just doesn't appeal to me much anymore (hence why I love playing Naixx in DOTA 2, you can play him like a farming ganker with that ulti). I wanted to pick Naixx that game but they told me DK counters him :P (probably true, shows that I don't know anything about picks/half the heroes in DOTA 2). I think I ended up spending half my time in the jungle that game trying to work the courier (I still don't get why I have to manually click it to myself then hit transfer items while it's close--for some reason it never wants to fly to me when I hit transfer items) and trying to buy items/read skills.

As someone coming over from HoN I was somewhat excited for Spiritbreaker. Rampage was one of my favorite heroes.
The thing was, though, was that I knew he wasn't going to be the exact same, so I was worried. When they ported SB into HoN directly he sucked until the rework.
But SB in Dota2 is fucking fun. The fact that his charge ignores terrain is really helpful, and his ult is dope as shit.
Only thing I don't really like is the fact that his bash is % based instead of one bash every few seconds.

What's the word on getting a leaver's money/items? You get the money/items of the first guy that DCs/leaves but if somebody else leaves you don't...

I'm liking SB. The chance to his charge is fucking awesome.

I wish I could say the same for Xanthe though, I've only played a single mm game with him where he did very well, didn't know he had a vendetta against HoN-gaf and honestly I'm kind of embarrassed that he acted like that.
