As long as you make orchid correctly this time :lol
Hey! I didn't know they changed it, why didn't you mention it, you've been playing 6.73 for so long! To be honest though, that game was so hard, trying to outcarry BKB'd up carries, dumb that Glaives get blocked by magic immunity.

Speaking of, Viper's poison attack - his Q - confuses me.

I can't use it on people with magic immunity, but I also can't use it when, for example, decrepified? So it counts as both a magic attack and an autoattack?

Ugh.

I'm not made to win at this game. Had three straight game where a disconnect/leave happened on my team early game when we were doing perfectly fine.

One happened straight at start of game, so I was like "oh well, at least I'll be able to leave in 5 minutes sin..." and THEN he reconnects at the last second, ugh. Dude picks Slardar.

Then Slardar/Spirit Breaker are some best buddies who charges in alone WAY TOO MUCH.

17/17/23 Spirit Breaker...lesson to Spirit Breaker newbies : it is not worth dying to get a kill. At least Slardar had the right mentality, he went 3/6/23. But that Spirit Breaker....urgh.

Over the course of the 1hour 15m long game, I eventually decide to go Carry Silencer. Surprinsingly went well! 17/6/17! Vanguard, Eul's, Cloak, Power Threads, Shiva's Guard and Mecansm.

No kidding ; late game, their max level farmed Bounty Hunter backdoored our barracks, I said FUCK THAT NOISE and went in alone, and I killed him.

Then Zeus bought back and ulted me.

All in all an entertaining game, but disconnects really ruins it, fuck them disconnecters.

TL:DR : Well don't complain when people post huge ass pics of a score screen then! :)

So annoying when it is a 5 man pile up on a single enemy, then someone at the end of the fight goes "Why did you kill steal noob". If the enemy has escape, I'm tossing everything in reasonable to kill him, so yes I'm going to use Lich's Q to finish off the 100 HP Riki who is running out of the Sentry Wards vision.

Was a fun game, did the whole "Buy back/Grab BoT/TP in at last second" thing, before that I had Phase Boots and 3k gold that I was gonna use on a Shevas if we didn't win within 3 seconds. I like how the enemy team is more or less nothing but Pub Stomp Heroes. Should of gone Anti-Mage instead of Silencer though. They did get 2 towers in 6 minutes, so things weren't looking too good at the start, but in the end actually out pushed them.

It drives me insane when people complain about kill stealing. Aren't we all on the same team anyways...

What's the best skill build for silencer? I've seen some guides say curse is worthless, while others invest lots of points into curse early for harassment. Is it just play preference? Situational based on who you are leaning against? Or is one way the correct way?

Strength caster in lane? Max curse. Int caster? Max E and Q, the 3 second silence from your E allows a few ticks of Q to go off, and it can rape their mana. Against agi heroes go for a mix of Q and W.

edit: A high E also stops you being combo bursted and lets you get out of the range of the abilities.

It mostly depends on what hero you are laning against.

The Curse is worthless lategame, but it really shines early game against some heroes. You can completely shut down low-mana-pool-but-mana-intensive-heroes like Tiny or Sand King by draining their mana and life bit by bit (or they have to waste a huge chunk of mana to stop the curse ; either way it's a win for you). Just go in with an additional mana pot or two to be able to make your mana last for more than 1-2 levels.

I went against Sand King and Windrunner earlier, and that Sand King was basically a bystander for the whole laning phase. Windrunner had to powershot every time I caught her, making her waste mana. Because of that, my laning partner was able to farm a lot more efficiently.

Curse + autoattack harass is one way to play Silencer in the laning phase, if you are aiming for a more supportive style. However, his second skill allow him to scale extremely well lategame if you aim to go for a more carry style, which I eventually transitionned into! :)

I'm sure others will tell you this isn't right, but as far as I'm concerned, Curse is an excellent early game skill that definitively becomes a huge shutdown tool.

TL:DR : It depends on the enemy.

Well there's blatant kill stealing, like a Crystal Maiden using Frost Nova to get a last hit on someone that's guaranteed dead, and then there's someone getting the last auto attack on someone during a fight.

One of those is a WTF moment, the other is Okay. Consider it this way, if a hero like AM gets all the kills, your chances of winning are much higher, compared to a support, so it just makes sense to give them to AM.

I usually leave Curse at level one and max Last Word / Glaives, just because people tend to assume that I'm maxing Curse, so they cast spells on reaction. If it's a lane that I know will have Mana issues, for example Strength Casters, then I'll consider maxing curse, but usually I get Last Word just because the 3 second silence is crazy.

Well I understand there are obvious times when it's bad. However I think it gets brought up way more than it should. It's like some carries just expect everyone to stop attacking once the enemy gets low, even of it means the enemy hero could get away.

Also, thanks for the Silencer advice guys!

Clearly the 200 gold on the carry is worth the risk of not killing the enemy. And for a support to get the gold, what good could come from that? What are they going to buy, Wards?

Decided to watch the replay, and really the Radiant team was horrable. Their items were bad, they didn't know what to do in team battles, horrable team comp, never bought a single ward (So many Sentry Wards spent on counter warding wasted), Courier never got upgraded.

You should be able to farm 200 gold outside of kills.

Well, generally you should, if the enemy isn't going to get away, then you should stop, and let your carry kill them, but if there is a chance of them getting away, then open the flood gates.

Sounds like something you should learn to do.
Cold Blooded.
I don't know if this is mocking me for getting the last hit on the enemy and saying I can get it else where, or that the carry should stop crying and just kill the jungle camp 10 feet away from them.
Nah I was just replying to your comment, didn't know if you were being facetious or not, but if you were being serious, your implying that you need kills in order to buy wards. It's a matter of need or ease, do you need that kill, or does it make your job easier.

I think DrKirby is saying that a support getting one or two kills isn't the end of the world. That's a set of wards, or sentries, or dust, or smoke, or boots, or flyer, etc.

The way some people react to "kill steals", you'd think there is nothing a support can possibly do with gold. They seem to think wards/mekansm/pipe somehow buy themselves.

If you're a support player the only reason you should be getting kills is if you have an uncontrollable, high damage ultimate (a la Lich and CM) or if an enemy is going to get away and the carry cannot get the kill. Excepting weird shit like an enemy activating soul ring one frame before the autoattack hits, you should leave the kills to the carries (just like you SHOULD be doing with creeps in lane). I learned this the hard way with the screeches of our resident owl yelling at me in hon when I would just be afk autoattacking a hero in a lane with a carry.

Killstealing in my book is intentional lasthitting of the hero, but it's almost as bad to just be absent-minded of the carry's needs. Sometimes people take shit too personally on both sides tho

not tonight, I'm doing a school thing and I think as one of the chief shittalkers, I should at least be present at the slaughter.

I wish I had snatched up Dark Seer before that guy on the other team did, we would have scaled so much better into the lategame :[

THE MATCHMAKING IS SO BAD AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH.

Unless I'm pudge or something i can't get any guranteed early game kills and playing carries never works b/c everyone in pubs is any asshole awoie;owaijfawejifowa;oiefj;ioawfejo;iawejfoawef

I really enjoy playing spirit breaker though I feel like I haven't come to grips with a decent item build and it feels like I'm doing it wrong >_<

After buying starting items I go :

1. Urn
2. Regular boots
3. Mask of Madness
4. Power treads
5. Daedalus

....ugh, that looks like all kinds of wrong :(

Mask of Madness into Daedelus?

I mean, yeah if you're SUPERPRO and just stomping everyone left and right.

Build him like Slar or NS.

Depending on the team I'd build a bkb in there somewhere, but thats fine tbh. Some people prefer face boots, the mask of madness is amazing, you're naturally tanky and it lets you get off more bashes. The build is fine imo.

Mask of Madness into Daedelus?

What is this, a Balls of Steel build?

It's the : oh thank god I didn't die for some reason in this game - build :'[

My usual build is :

1. nothing, I can't breathe, I have no money, god why are we all dying....
2. Tango
3. gg

edit : ah I see, guess it wasn't that bad then, what would you guys say to manta style? Charge in stun, manta style, mask of madness... profit?

a kill is a kill. It is a team effort in alot of cases so if a support gets the kill because the carry couldnt last hit in time then its fine. However, a carry getting the kills would help more
