I believe in Tim Tebow

this notion that tebow must be homophobic is so absurd and ridiculous. yes, there are homophobic 'christians' out there, but they are only christians in name. real christians dont pass judgement on others.

in fact i think there are even gay clergy in some religions like the episcopal church, and other denominations.

From FB:

Tim Tebow threw for 136 yards Saturday. The best applicable Bible verse with that combination of digits in that order (and yes, I checked them all) was Mark 13:6:

"Many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and will deceive many."

He never said he was Christ, others did, fail.

Also no, someone who hates gay people can never ever be a good person. He can do good deeds, sure, but he cannot be a good person.

You realize most normal christians don't hate gays right? They don't approve of their lifestyle choice but they're not running around screaming hang the gays or anything like that.

Dude kiss a girl or go for a walk. Something.

Sorry I was drunk :/.

I really love the assumptions people are making that Tebow hates gay people just because he is religious.

Fuck off with that bullshit. Please.

He did a Super Bowl ad for Focus on the Family, an organization that donated more than half a million dollars to the anti-gay Proposition 8 campaign. It's not a stretch.

I don't think we should even bother. He is an embarrassment to rational thinkers everywhere so I guess him and Tebow are similar in some ways.

Not sure how you can be a judge of rational considering you just whined about people being unfair and calling him homophobic, someone posted why, and you said oh well I'm going to ignore that. That's not exactly rational.

Religious =/= hate gay people.

He is not a religious fanatic either. People really are going overboard.

If you sponsor commercials for your religion and anti-gay religious groups you are up there and don't deserve the benefit of the doubt unless you are insane

No, an organization that Tim Tebow did a super bowl ad for 2 years ago has some anti-gay sentiments. That does not mean Tim Tebow is anti-gay. He regretted doing the super bowl ad. I just don't like how people are jumping to conclusions and are letting hate blind their judgements.

You're letting love blind yours

He had the option to make it better and he and the Broncos punted on that one (ironic really when you think about it).

Thanks to the media, people that aren't even fans of the NFL were watching - that in itself is quite the accomplishment.

And yes, people in here are totally right - jumping to conclusions that someone that is religious does not automatically imply everything else. Damn.

Uh every interview he mentions God. Every single one. Fuck him. Fuck the completely bigoted horse (bronco) he rode in on and fuck the Broncos period. He got all that was coming to him. He's not good. The media hyped him up. And his team lost by 35 points and it wasn't even that close.

Close this thread, he and his team are an embarrassment to the NFL and the playoffs.

Just let it out. Let it all out.

Show that it isn't even about Tebow or the Broncos or NFL at all.

People have clearly stated why we came to the homophobic conclusion. No one has presented any evidence in defense of Tebow besides the 'assumptions' argument which is baseless and ad hominem.

Nope it's about promoting rational thought!

As far as the definition of religious fanatic well: http://www.btea.org/index.asp

Alright guys, you win. I concede. Tim Tebow is obviously a religious nut-job who wishes death upon gay people and all of his extracurricular work means nothing because he is a Christian. He is a bad person and his family and friends are also bad people. I am an embarrassment to atheists and football fans everywhere because I try to see the good in people.

It's football time baby... I hope the Packers don't lose

Innocent until proven guilty.

Doing a commercial with the notorious Focus on the Family group and refusing to participate in the It's Get Better campaign which is honestly fairly innocuous to all but the most insane social conservatives is pretty fucking damning.

Clearly you should know better. There's no difference between disapproving of a lifestyle and wanting to execute the entire gay community.

So now you're the one making assumptions. Just clearing that up.

No, still you guys.

The focus on the family ad he did was pro life, not anti gay. And it was only one ad, it's not like he's their spokesman.

Provide a definitive quote, something he actually said that proves he hates gay people. I know I've never seen anything to suggest it

Except during that ad he was. That is what it means to star in a commercial representing a specific group. That was the point of him doing an ad for Focus on the Family. That is why Focus on the Family wanted him to participate in their ad. You don't do ads for radical anti gay groups unless you're radical and anti gay. Or ill-informed. That's pretty much it, duped or dick.

I'm almost sure he said he endorses FotF agenda.

Right, because Dan Savage is a beacon of civility.
