turn that sumbitch sideways. . .
Just revealed on Spike's CES coverage, Mad Catz new SFxT VS Sticks!
You can combine two of them together to form one long panel that mirrors the control panel of a japanese cabinet. Very cool!

MSRP: $199.99 for one stick.
More info here: http://www.madcatz.com/ces/2012/
I'm about to embark on a Seimitsu custom stick project for 360 since the Hori EX SE ones are too damn expensive now. I've heard recommendations to mod a madcats SE fightstick, but seems even those are pretty pricey right now.
What is my best option for this? I'm looking at the WWE Brawl stick for 64 bucks on Amazon, is this my best/cheapest bet right now?
Oh and it seems this stick is not compatible with PC?
I really like the size and shape of the VS stick BUT there is a couple of things that I would like to have been done differently. First maybe have a non glossy version of the stick, it looks like it is shiny plastic casing not metal, same case in matte black metal like the VSHG would be amazing!......
Markman, do you have many really rare sticks left to acquire? Is there any particularly rare one that still alludes you?
It's PC compatible.
Yeah the brawl stick should work. I don't think it uses the 5-pin connector that the SF4 SE stick uses though, so if you're thinking about replacing the lever with a Seimitsu LS-32-01, get the regular LS-32 instead.
It does, you just have to flip it around. I put an LS-40-01 in mine.

So my dual modded SSF4 SE stick keeps randomly disconnecting on me, which apparently is a sign that it's dying
I wanted a Qanba Q4RAF but the standard editions are out of stock and FocusAttack is saying they won't get another shipment until March. I don't think I can wait that long.
I am eyeing the EightArc Fusion but fuck $185 is a hell of a lot for an arcade stick
There really isn't any other alternative as far as dual-compatible joysticks go right
There's also this, but it's more expensive.
I think I prefer the build of the EightArc, but I do like how the Omni appears to have easy to swap buttons like the Madcatz SE/TE. Does anyone know if the EightArc is like that too? I might swap the Sanwa buttons for the Seimitsu PS-15s I got for my SE.
Just looked over the TE Kitty installation instructions and I don't think I like it. I'm not a fan of removing the select button from your stick and putting a jack in its place. I think I'd rather strip wires again with the ChimpSMD.

Also, as someone who only has experience with Sanwa and Seimitsu, I am kind of curious about the Omni Korean Edition. How do Crown buttons compare to Sanwa and Seimitsu?
just did a quick button upgrade for my qanba:

How do those translucent sanwas feel? Are they any different from the regular opaque ones?
It's an optional step, and the kitty remaps the back/select functionality to the turbo button so it acts as both. But again just to repeat the rj-45 jack is optional, it's just there for multi console support. If all you care about is PC/PS3/360 then skip it. Also it's possible to drill another 24mm hole to the left of the start button and move the buttons and jack around. I've done this on both of my TEs that have MC support.
EDIT: Also, if you're not going to use the MC support you might as well just get a TEasy Strike (S), quicker install than the Kitty to be sure. That said, I don't think it's confirmed if that works on the SCV stick yet either so again, check phreakazoid's TT thread.
Stainless steel screws; my R1 TE's screws rusted a bit overtime due to perspiration over
Cool, and it only took Mad Catz what... 3 years to fix this?
Mine turned to pure rust immediately and the upper metal plate too, had to replace it with an acrylic top (not just a cover, a thick acrylic replacement for the actual metal plate)
I use a hori v3 sa now. No screws on the top and no cheap metal = no rust.
Bad news. The Quanba/EightArc sticks use a metal panel overlaid with thick plexiglass. The Seimitsu PS-15's are too shallow to fit through the plexi, and don't clip into place. The regular depth snap-in buttons do fit just right, so you'll need some OBSF-30's or PS-14's. Sucks![]()
Huh? The VSHG case is plastic too. I have one.I also thought it would have been a lot classier if it was matte black like the VSHG too, but I figured I'd just powdercoat it myself, but it turns out that the exterior of the case is plastic.
Mentioned 4min in that the exterior is plastic...

Huh?? I know the VSHG is plastic. I have one too. My only point is that there's some mis-information about what's plastic on this new Madcatz VS stick and I was was just trying to post some clarification. I thought the entire exterior was metal and able to be powder coated to match the VSHG since I'm not a huge fan of glossy gadgets.
I eagerly await further clarification from Markman.
VSHG is metal, not plastic to my knowledge. I had one, I am pretty sure it was not plastic.
Anything I can get that has a shape similar to the V3 SA for the 360 with Seimitsu parts?
Damn, that is some high quality plastic then. The weight/structure/solidness felt like metal.
Yeah, try to track down a Hori V3 SE lol. This is what it looks like:

Good luck. They're getting harder to find now.
That's actually a VX-SE
One of my e-friends has one and I'm mad jelly.
Ah, yeah my mistake, he confused me when he said V3-SA for Xbox 360 lol.
Silly me, I have 3 of these too![]()
