Product alert:

Focusattack.com has the new Seimitsu LS-58 line in stock.

They don't have any of the new PS-15 buttons though.

Does any one have hands on impressions of the 58? The description makes it sound like a JLF competitor. Softer spring and longer throw, etc.

What's this now? I have PS-15s in my PS3 wireless stick, what's new about these?
I'm also looking for info on the JLF silent switches for the same stick.

I'm also seeing the Joytron EXChanger starting to show up at some web importers, when's Laugh/Etokki starting sales?

Oh heavenly blessed beauty...

Edges too pointy/10

My last TE was the R1 which I dualmodded and sold a while ago. So this is pretty refreshing.

Just got my package. Feast upon it! I don't have my tools to open this at the moment so no insides. But it should be pretty standard stuff for the most part.

Btw as of this post, there's about 1-2 more left to order on Amazon.com before they restock later.

Good stick. I purchased this for a few reasons:
  • The design is good, I will likely mod the look of it and the translucent body design will assist greatly.
  • Compact, I had the R1 TE which was nice but this is nicer.
  • Stainless steel screws; my R1 TE's screws rusted a bit overtime due to perspiration over the last 2.5 years.
  • NEW BUTTON LAYOUT! I can't remember the last time I played on a cab with this layout. this is refreshing as I am a tall guy with wide shoulders. I'll be bending my wrist a lot less while using this so physically this is good.
  • Lighter than my VLX so I can carry this to local gatherings easier lol

God Damn.

For some reason mine on Amazon doesn't ship until the game comes out. Any reason why?

I chose this over the Hori stick mainly because of the cord. 10ft is barely long enough for me actually.

I don't personally but there's a whole thread on it on SRK TT. I was following it a while back but I don't remember the hands on opinions.

Hoping for some advice here:

I have a SFIV SE Fightstick that I stole the PCB out of to repair a TE last year. Everything else is fine, it just needs a new PCB. I'd like to get it working on PS3 AND 360 once I have the new PCB in there.

Is there a solderless PCB I can put in there? If not, what's the best way to get a new PCB that will let me play on both consoles?

Thanks in advance.

I think everything has some or little soldering required. The eTokki paewang PCB is good. It's very minimal work if you want to put into it.

How easy is it to fix/repair/replace a joystick inside a TE?

$30 and it's done. Unscrew, screw, hook up harness. Done?

Cause i think my TE stick is either acting up or busted. I keep getting a weird tiger knee motion when i just press up occasionally. Would just fixing the spring fix this? If not what do i need to buy?

You can diagnose the problem by taking off the back panel and manipulating the joystick from the other side. It's actually pretty easy to see which switches are being pressed and how.

Whoa,

Go away for two weeks and lots of cool stick news. Happy that Fightstick Pro case made a comeback since I missed the funky red one.

Also, put me down for two of those big clunkers that attach.

After looking at so many customs/mods with good looking wiring I have decided that I'm DONE with my bird's nest!

Time to buy some techflex and heat shrink!

Jan. 31st can't come soon enough. My weapon is ready. Is yours?

I told myself one was enough. Then bought another TE, then I built my own Art-hobbies tek-case, then I bought a brawlstick to mod. After that I said it was enough.

Then I bought a Qanba limited Q4RAF red.

Shit.

Join the club! If you like pretty things and new layouts.

I think this layout plays out better for me.

Previous I had to stretch my arm a bit over to push buttons and now I have a bit more relaxed stance since my shoulders are wide

Is there anywhere I can read, watch or hear a follow up on the new "silent" sanwa stick and buttons ? for the stick is sanwa just reproducing those sanwa flash that were discontinued ? (optical switches)

A company called Rollie is producing those reproduction Sanwa Flash clones. Sanwa's new silent sticks are actually entirely new, and still use microswitches.

So Rollie's clones, Toodles' Spark PCB, and the original Sanwa Flash are optical, but the Sanwa "silent" are tactile, non-clicky microswitches, correct?

Makes me wonder how an arcade stick based on the Hall effect would work... Maybe something similar to the Ultimark Mag-Stik Plus, but with programmable firmware that would let you to choose the threshold for each switch being on and off. It would still have no tactile feedback like an optical stick, but being able to fine-tune the engage distance or even adjust the size of the diagonals would be pretty cool.

Didn't know Rollie is producing something like this too (knew only about old ascii and Toodles Spark), that's interesting none the less but I'm still more curious about those new sanwa parts...I hope those will be available soon and not only included in their arcade stick for a limited time (just a guess on my part)

Are there any low latency 360-to-ps3 converters? I'm thinking about getting the PS3 version of SC5, but only have a 360 stick.

The XCM Cross Battle Adapter seems to have pretty bad reviews with regards to latency, and at $35 I wouldn't want to risk it.
Oh, I really want one of these too. I know a lot of people have posted images of some adapter that apparently works well, and is really cheap. The issue is they never post the name of it, and I've never been able to get it. But oh how I want one.

If you really don't want to risk it and haven't purchased the stick yet, you could consider getting the 360 version and adding a TE Kitty PCB to it for perfect PC/360/PS3 compatibility. It's a solderless, largely painless installation process whose most difficult step is cutting and stripping one cable. Everything else is just ribbon cables and screw-in terminals.

That is, assuming the TE Kitty is compatible with the SCV sticks. I'm sure someone on SRK has already figured that out.

Just picked up this sexy beast, works with PS3 & 360 and PC Out of the box! Cost me about 149 from Focus Attack. I can see why these bad boys are always sold the fuck out. Im glad I waited and picked this up!!!

I didn't purchase a new stick, I'm looking to use my old first gen SE stick (modded) with my ps3, if possible. I guess the TE Kitty doesn't work with SE?

Oh crap, I misunderstood your post completely. I have no idea what I was reading.

I poked around on SRK and it doesn't sound like there are any 360 -> PS3 convertors that they emphatically recommend. It's possible to piggyback your SE PCB onto a MC Cthulhu board, but that's quite a bit more work.

Yeah, I was just looking at the Cthulhu board with that in mind. I might try it if I can find a place where it's not sold out. Could be a fun project.

Thanks for the help, Orayn!

This turned out way better than I thought it would. Enamel matt white sprayed brawlstick with Sanwa clears and Seimitsu bubble top

Also received my limited red Q4RAF today, it's amazing.

I don't see why the Kitty wouldn't work on an SE, it uses the same board as the TE. Failing that, the ChimpSMD is easy as sin to install, just takes some wire, a couple screwdrivers and time.
