Someone finally put up the clip of crazy ass Justin Smith going animal.

Yeah, that was just crazy. When watching it live I had to second guess myself if he pulled him down. And then they zoom in on the possessed face and you knew what happened.

You don't remember that? He just started it with 1 or 2 reporters there
Shit, I don't remember that. Reminds me of the Chris Bosh interview last year when they had no questions for him.

Holy shit, someone who thinks the refs didn't give that SB to the steelers.

The refs blew that game, but Seattle still had their chances. That Parker run was a dagger threw the heart and the refs had nothing to do with it. I'm not excusing the refs for screwing that game up, but people act like Seattle only lost because or the refs, Seattle did make mistakes that impacted the game.

What gets me is the complaints about the Arizona game.

I hate the Steelers with a passion, so anytime they win a SB, I get pissed.

More scoring than twilight too.

Just pointing out that the 49ers got fortunate with the Thomas injury. If Vernon Davis got hurt in the first quarter, I would have said the Saints got fortunate. Key players don't usually leave the game after the first drive, so that was a lucky break for the 49ers.

1. it wasn't a fluke injury or something weird. he got knocked the fuck out BY A 49er on a perfectly timed hit
2. lulz at comparing a role player like thomas to VD. a more fair comparison would be delaine walker. delaine walker wasn't playing, he's a big part of our offense. saints got lucky he was injured

this one play basically summarizes the difference between the saints and 49ers. saints were not ready to play that type of physical game and they didn't want it as much as we did. that is a probowl LT being made to look like a small child.

justin smith is finally getting some well deserved recognition!

Steelers/Seahawks was a blur for me.

I went with an old friend to his relative's log cabin and watched the game with about 30 Steelers fans (all his family). I honestly don't remember much besides the end result because I was distracted by how serious they were about the game. After they won, 3 of them were standing on the front step of the house shooting off their shotguns.

I was just glad I made it home alive that night.

hahaha glad i didn't miss this. you can almost hate mo lewis for crushing bledsoe's innards while you're at it but how was he to know what horror was about to be unleashed on us all?

That was a great hit. Dumbass Bledsoe for trying to hold up while he was still in the field of play.

BOOOOOOM!

Priceless. Mo undoubtedly has wet dreams remembering that. And Bledsoe probably still gets the shakes.

I know there's always the underdog thing and such and such, but there is no way Baltimore can beat New England. Houston might have the best D in the AFC, but BAL was especially putrid. It's so crazy how the stars aligned for New England this year.

They may very well win the SB, but the spread will have them overvalued. People are getting worked up over the numbers they put up on DEN, but that was basically throwing against air. Flacco is too awful and the defense too old and slow too trouble them this week

If they played that SB 10 more times, the Seachickens would still lose every one.

This overconfidence is going to hurt you.

BAL is one of the toughest teams you can play against. If Pats win, they are going to be quite beat up and will need that extra week.

Really? You're comparing an inactive player who had 203 yards to someone who was in the game and was a planned part of the offense who had 987 yards?
bzs9i.gif

2011 stats:

Pierre Thomas - 987 yards
Vernon Davis - 787 yards

NE over BAL is lockiest lock that ever locked. The only way they win is if they knock out Brady, but their pass rush was nonexistent against Houston, and I don't see why it would show up on the road versus NE

are you retarded? you're comparing an offense like the saints to our offense? next you're going to tell me that drew brees had more passing yards than alex smith!

not that i expect you to know wtf you're talking about. most people don't know about delaine walker or what a competent 2nd TE means to our offense. but it's all good. we definitely got lucky that we have a hard hitting defense that took pierre thomas out for the game!

Both guys were obviously big parts of the offense. Vernon is a guy that in many cases commands double teams (for most sensible defenses lol) though and it is still arguable whether the Saints would have been able to run on the niners even with Pierre healthy. Not sure of all of the Saints injuries but the niners have been short on receivers since very early in the season. Losing Delaney was huge for the niners especially since our only real first string receiver in there is probably Crabtree. I have yet to see Swain do anything or the other white dude from practice squad even take a down. Delaine was a big third down target for short-medium throws all season long.

Really?

Well considering Swain and Cratbree started the Rams game and our third healthy receiver was Hastings...yeah

im watching part of the ravens Americas Game.... why does ray lewis talk like this?

"When we started the game <long pause> we said <pause> no first downs.
And after EVERY play <long pause> we said <pause> we're not done"

Tell me that any of those were blown calls.

What about the final scoring play of SB43?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Gs5IARvyZg&t=5m52s (ignore the music, but the other YouTube vids of this look like they were recorded with a potato).

Watch when NBC zooms in on Homes' feet. They were clearly in bounds, and he did one of the best toe taps I have ever seen in my life. He said he never left the ground at any time, and after seeing how good NBC was at showing us that, I believe him. Too bad they got rid of him a season or so later.

Pierre Thomas going out of the game wasnt a huge factor imo. It isnt like the Saints were going to run a lot in that game, and Sproles is the better pass catcher anyway. Still, 49ers were lucky as hell to win that game. But with the way it went back and forth at the end I would have said the same thing had the Saints won.

Alex Smith played out of his mind in that game and still couldn't manage to get over 300 yards against what is probably one of the 3 or 4 worst defenses in the NFL. Maybe even the second worst behind the Bucs. That was the 5th or 6th game I've seen of the Saints this year and they are just terrible.

The Giants D isnt on the same level as the 49ers, but if they are as motivated as they were Sunday then it's going to get ugly out there with Alex Smith facing a competent defense. Jimmy H better pull his head out of his ass this week and run the ball 40 times.

You compared losing an active player in the game to a guy on the sideline in sweatpants. Even you know that's dumb.

The stats I posted prove Pierre Thomas was a key player on offense. Everything I said makes sense, unlike the things someone else said.

Maverick also thought him and Goose would become Top Gun graduates together. Look what happened to him due to his overconfidence. Baltimore may just be Ice Man's jet wash. Think about that.

yeah alex smith doesn't stand a chance against the giants. only reason we won last time is because gore had 150 yards rushing. we'll need that kind of performance out of gore again if we want a chance to be in it at the end.

what's the difference? i guarantee you delaine walker is more important to our offense than pierre thomas. and again you fail to realize: PIERRE THOMAS HAD THE SHIT KNOCKED OUT OF HIM BY ONE OF OUR GUYS! he didn't stub his fucking toe on the goal post or something. the reason that pierre thomas wasn't playing in that game was because of something the opponent did. if that's lucky then every team who has ever won a sporting event is lucky.

There were 31 teams lucky Peyton has hurt!
Possibly 32 since it got the Polians fired.

That's probably the smartest thing anyone has ever written on NFL-GAF. I am truly stumped. You Canadians are capable of such brilliance when not burning down your lovely cities

It's adorable how you do this. All the boasting, the fuck this fuck that and fuck you's after a win. Then after a loss you come stumbling back in with your hat in hand all humble and modest.

You don't know how to win with any class. You've lowered yourself down to the level of Pittsburgh and Green Bay fans. You're dirtbaggin it. When the Bucs win the Super Bowl next year I'm going to have to show all of you how it's done. All classy and shit

Bucs ain't winning no Super Bowl!
Niners doin' for the next 10 years bitches!

I know about Delanie Walker.....

Speaking of Delanie, I get the feeling our big run formation with Sopoaga as a blocker has a PA deep pass play built into it. I only think this due to how the Niners continually use different looks out of the same odd formation, slowly setting up teams to gameplan for one thing and then flip the coin on them. I have been waiting to see if they call the pass play out of it during the playoffs, but I think that play may only work with both VD and Walker in.

Hearing some rumors that the Falcons may be ready to announce their new defensive coordinator fairly soon.

Names like Steve Spagnuolo and Mike Nolan have been brought up as candidates, and the Saints are also reportedly looking at Spagnuolo.
