wake me up when brady has a terrible supporting cast (which manning has had since 08 or so).

brady also got to throw to the second best receiver ever for a couple years, which was rather nice. that and bad weather isn't exactly always bad for the pats offense, see: titans game.

huh? wait didnt brady win his superbowls with a bunch of average/below average receivers?! also didnt manning have harrison for like his first 9-10 years and broke a bunch of qb-wr records with him?!

Come on the least you can do is use ACTUAL FACTS! its only been since 07 since brady has had decent receivers(welker and moss)and then he was hurt for 08 so 4 out of the last 5 years he has had good receivers and in that time manning still had clark AND wayne and a upstart rookie (garcon)!

IF brady wins this SB he will be THE QB of this generation and WILL go down along montana, unitas, elway as one of the top 5 QB's in NFL history!

P. Manning can step up when he throws to no name receivers like brady did back when he won his SB's! Until then all P. Manning fans will have is his regular season stats which dont mean jack when what most people care about is rings(even peyton him self probably).

wayne and harrison were constant pro bowlers (the latter not as much because of manning, sure) because peyton manning was throwing to them. manning has done fine over the last few years with trash at receiver (blair white, austin collie).

moss coming into NE had no value because he was sulking and didn't give a shit. he started caring and made the patriots into an unstoppable juggernaut on offense, it's not that simple (he even made matt cassel look good ffs). manning's oline has also been junk since glenn retired.

Harrison kills people. Manning hasn't been really good for the past few years. You can only hurt your neck in a few ways.

Brady has a history of making receivers better. He hasn't been surrounded by constant Pro Bowlers. Terry Glenn and Branch were the only two he had for some time, we all know Branch's story.

Moss vs. Harrison debate is absurd. The dollar menu at McDonalds had more value than Moss on his way into New England. Harrison was always Manning's constant.
Wayne and Clark without Manning vs. With Manning. Its obvious Manning had a role.

congratulations, brady had a better defense than manning and got lucky in a small sample size!

the magic of getting emotional about sports.

Brady is a system quarterback.
tee hee
Peyton outright ran that offense for ten years running in a way no other QB could claim to have. Dude is a magician on the field.

Brady misses a season- Patriots still make the playoffs.
Peyton misses a season- First overall pick.

Where did I say he didn't?
Why even mention Brady making recievers look better than they are then when your having a Manning vs. Brady debate? There is no evidence to suggest Manning doesn't do the same so in that respect it's a tie and shouldn't even be brought into the the debate.

Wow, what a devastating loss. that ending sucked. Fucking Kyle Williams. Can't believe his 2 mistakes were the difference between the SB and going home.

It's a shame for the defense. They played an AMAZING game. They deserved that one, no doubt. It's really unfortunate but they also probably win if they picked off that 1st eli pass where the corner and safety ran into one another cuz the route/pass was so off. That would have been close to a pick 6.

Alex still isn't good enough to win a SB on his own. Not a single meaningful 3rd down conversion. Gore played well, as did the running game in general, and of course VD, but too many times Alex missed the receiver. That 1st half throw down the middle of the field. Sigh.

I thought Harbaugh called a pretty good game, but their last possession in OT he should have ran on 1st down, IMO. But whatever.

The non-fumble call was frustrating because usually that call is made. But it is what it is.

Giants D was okay too, but a better QB would have torched them. Giants D has to be better in the SB. Their D was well worse today than last week vs GB.

Gotta give props to Eli, though. Dude was getting hammered all game long. But he didn't stop coming at the Niners. Sacks and hits all over, but he found a way to keep pushing through it.

It sucks because I know the stars aligned right. I don't think the Niners will be this good next year without a QB change. If Peyton is okay, they should trade the entire draft for him. Or Luck. I'm not trying to pile on Alex or anything, and I'm happy he did what he did, but he's simply not good enough to get it done for 3 games in the postseason. That's the truth.

GG Giants gaf. tough one to swallow. :(

I don't want Peyton until I know his neck is going to be ok. One wrong hit and he's done and the team that has him is screwed.

I got to give credit to big blue, special teams and of course, Eli. All obvious positive points aside, he's TOUGH. He takes the hits like a man, especially when comparing him to someone like Sanchez, where he just crumbles when sacked.

There was one point in the game where his shoulder pad and helmet were all messed up and out of place, and his jersey all stained. Someone gotta get a screenshot of that.

He's just smart too, he reads the defense very well, if you pay attention you hear OMAHA OMAHA and KILL KILL. If you're a sports junkie, you know what means. That in my opinion is what makes him so great, and puts him above others.

Because I was constructing a single point. You want me to turn it into some magical debate with nonsense flying everywhere. I like Peyton, deal with it.
The debate was turning into manning vs. Brady and you threw out that point in the middle of so I assumed you were putting your opinion into the mix and i responded. So i guess you just threw it into the mix without realizing what the conversation was about, my bad. Both are great QB's but I hate New England so I pick Manning.

I really thought Alex was going to finally prove that he was a fine QB in these playoffs. He's my favorite college player ever, and he had improved a lot, but he wasn't good enough today :/.

How bad is it that I was mostly rooting for the 49ers because of Smith and not because of team fandom? I did love to watch a ton of the players on the team though...

Definitely more suited for this thread

So there are people that think Crabtree can be a team's number 1 receiver? Crabtree doesn't have the burst to get seperation and he doesn't have the size or play physical enough to be a jump ball type of receiver. And his hands aren't anything special.
