1. It was a joke. 2. You said against the 3 teams with pass rushes, I directly refuted this by saying that they were successful against other teams with pass rushes. You're just being selective to make your point seem valid.

What's my excuse? I don't need an excuse, I'm a fan. I watch the games. What's your excuse for the Ravens losing to the Jaguars? Exactly it doesn't matter at all.

Larry > you

We lost to the jaguars because we play down to our competition and they shut down rice. If you watched the games you would know that the ravens defense is better than the steelers, cowboys, and giants. If we score 24 or more we are winning the game point blank.

You don't need to make excuses. The Jags game doesn't matter in the slightest now.

I wouldn't know that because the Ravens haven't played against many teams with good offenses.

Seeing a bum like Flacco winning a Superbowl would break my heart, but anything is better then seeing the Pats win another one.

In a perfect world some meteor would fall from the sky and vaporize everyone @ Foxboro and the winner of the NFC Championship game would win by default, but we don't live in a perfect world and we have to make some tough choices sometimes.

In a perfect world, the Steelers would embarass themselves against a .500 team led by a QB whose throws have more wobble than a Skrillex record.

Oh, wait...

Have the Pats ever won a playoff game in Denver?

I know Ben did what Tammy couldn't 7 years ago when he took down the world's greatest handball player Jake Plummer in Mile High.

Pats are pretty fortunate to get the 1 seed and even more fortunate the Steelers were not healthy going into the playoffs. You, me and everyone else knows that we would have destroyed you again if healthy. But whatever, we are an old team and old teams get injured late in the season.

I will remember this when Ray Rice runs for 800 yards this weekend!

Bionic I applaud you sticking with this thread. Even if you're 100% wrong, this place needs more fans like you.
Why wouldn't I stick around?

I never once thought this Steelers team was a contender. The only way we were going to the Superbowl was to fall into it the way the Pats are doing by getting homefield and the right teams at the right time.

The only shitty thing is that I should be celebrating the downfall of the Packers, but as with everything else in life the Pats ruined it by making me afraid of them getting back to the SB. The only thing that stands between them and Indy is a qb who sucks dick on the road and gets his hair cut at SuperCuts.

Eagles called ‘gaybirds’ by N.J. lawmaker

By Peter Mucha
Inquirer Staff Writer

N.J. Rep. Charles Mainor, a Hudson Democrat, has apologized for referring to the Philadelphia Eagles as "those gaybirds from Philly."

A North Jersey state Assemlyman and Giants fan has apologized after getting grief for calling the Philadelphia Eagles "those gaybirds from Philly."

Not that he exactly said: Sorry, City of Brotherly Love. Or: No offense, Andy Reid and crew.

"I have very, very close relatives who are gay. I have nothing against them. I'm far from that," said Assemblyman Charles Mainor, according to the Jersey Journal.

A Jersey City police detective who was elected in 2010, Mainor said in a Facebook post:

"We are not going to just lay down, we come to play. Who the hell do you think we are the DALLAS COWGIRLS OR THOSE GAYBIRDS FROM PHILLY . . . NO WE ARE THE NEW YORK GIANTS."

Mainor, a Democrat, also said he was only partly responsible. A "friend" supposedly put in the "gaybirds" part.

Not to doubt a politician, but help is needed to write a Facebook post?

No one blames Mainor for exercising bragging rights. His Giants not only made the playoffs - while the Eagles and Cowboys choked - but advanced to the conference championship game by whalloping the Green Bay Packers, defending Super Bowl champs who had a 15-1 record during the season.

But it wasn't wise to act like . . . well, some Eagles fans.

Locals have been known to use a certain slurname for Dallas QB Tony Romo. (Think of a word that rhymes with his last name.) Even though he dated the likes of Jessica Simpson and Carrie Underwood, and last year married pageant queen and TV reporter Candice Crawford.

Now, because of Mainor's post, Philly fans might root more for the Giants to lose - so they can once again justify calling the team's quarterback "She-li" instead of Eli Manning.

lol, typical sunday fan.

stats, stats, stats, stats..... they all mean.. NOTHING except a big pay bonus for the players and fantasy football ;]

Psychologically, when it comes to the playoffs, I'd rather lose to shitty teams in the regular season and beat playoff teams then lose to playoff teams and beat nothing but shitty teams. JUST SAYIN

Ravens record against Playoff teams:

6 - 0

Patriots record against Playoff teams:

1 - 2

Ravens record against teams still in championship round:

1 - 0

Patriots record against teams still in championship round:

0 - 1

Enough stats for you?

Ofcourse, anyone can just put up stats and argue their own perspective. What the average person would see form this though is that the Ravens have been tested. The Patriots? Not so much.

See what happens when Frankman gets banned from NFL-GAF and is left to his own devices...

Now, because of Mainor's post, Philly fans might root more for the Giants to lose
:jnc As if they needed the extra motivation to hate. Hilarious.

When comparing teams that didn't play each other in the regular season it holds some weight.

I'd rather have home field advantage than some made up advantage the Ravens have but that's just me.

Yeah those are great stats. I don't disagree either. The Pats haven't really played anyone. But my point was about good offenses. Which isn't mentioned in your post at all.

Ravens beat some good teams, but none of them were really great offensive teams.

Ugh, don't remind me of that game.

Denver has historically been kryptonite to Brady and NE. I look forward to the days when Tebow and the Broncos reign supreme over the Pats again in Mile High. It's going to be tough for any away team to win in the stadium closest to heaven.

10/10

So in the 3 games against teams with good pass rush this year, the patriots put up 20, 16, and 17 points. But I'm supposed to think they're gonna blow out the ravens???

I hope Vegas feels the same overconfindence because I'm gonna make bank when we re enact the last matchup we had in the playoffs.

I don't know man. Vegas seems to always know. Seeing how I want the Pats to lose, the line on this game has me worried.

Foster is such a beast. He can beat defenses, the press, the lockout...and if you include the playoff games he led the team in receiving this year as well? (He was one reception shy in the regular season)

And from reports I read he was PISSED about the outcome against the Ravens. Didnt call team mates out but reports were that he was showing some anger at losing they way they did. Guy will get a new contract and come back with a vengance next year.

That makes sense. I'm not sure if it was NFL films or ESPN or what, but TSN here had some half hour show on Foster this year covering how he got into the league, his family, mindset, etc. He just has a powerful work ethic and pretty much stops to analyze what he's doing if he starts making mistakes. He seemingly takes every fumble more seriously than Kubiak. More importantly he really seemed aware of how to use negative coverage as fuel rather than something golding him back. Seemed really offended by his hamstring acting up, even! :jnc

Fuckin anti-awesomeness!

Since it's Tuesday... seen any good movies lately NFL-GAF?

Saw "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" which I liked.

Well done, Oldman rocks, and it's shot on film as an added bonus.

Moneyball was excellent and that's coming from a complete non-baseball fan.

I also saw Blue Valentine which was the feel terrible movie of the year but had stellar performances from Gosling and the ever cute Michelle Williams.

I saw this as well, it was the first adult movie I've seen in the theater since my kids were born, so damn near 5 years. Major slow burn movie, by the next day, I loved it.

Regular season wins are incredibly meaningful on a week to week basis! No team with like, say 15 wins, could ever lose to a team they'd already beaten!

Homefield advantage is great!

I like how Eznark has taken the role of shitting on everybody's point, no matter what team they are defending.

Sweet, looking forward to seeing it on blu ray. Fucking bed bugs.....

Moneyball is pretty good. As someone who is pretty well versed in that A's team, it stuck as close as you can reasonably expect to the facts. Or...as close as Michael Lewis did anyway. My biggest gripe is that they didn't touch on that first "moneyball" draft.

You shouldn't like what he does, he's a jerk.

It kills me that Jacoby being Jacoby and TJ deciding to forego all common sense in the 2 minute drill for the "huck it and pray" methodology robbed AJ, Arian, and our D of a chance to go even farther. Virtually every Texan except for those two played out of his mind.

Which brings me to Foster: Pay. The. Man. Stupid. Amounts. Of. Money. He fucking deserves it, and I don't want a new RB. I want Foster.

Similarly, if anyone even comes sniffing around Wade Phillips, I'm willing to see a hike in ticket prices so that we can pay him head coach money to stick around.

Just watched it a couple of days ago, it's excellent. Realizing that Gary Oldman was English was somewhat of a mindfuck, because I had only seen him in American movies with American accents.

And I agree with ez and Futurevoid on Moneyball. Good movie.

Hearing some rumors that the Falcons may be ready to announce their new defensive coordinator fairly soon.

Names like Steve Spagnuolo and Mike Nolan have been brought up as candidates, and the Saints are also reportedly looking at Spagnuolo.

I swear if the Eagles don't fire Juan and hire a competent DC I will go mad.

And congrats to the Giants fans. I hate them tebow-damn so much but have to admire the organization from top to bottom.
'
Coughlin won the SB just 4 seasons ago but was on the hot seat this year because of his most recent failures. Reid? HAHHAHA

DC was holding team back they fire Lewis and hire Spags. Spags left and they needed a new guy? Hire Fewell. They actually went outside their own building! What a concept. Eagles? Promote McDermott who was inexperienced yes but had nothing to work with. Make him scapegoat and hire an even less experienced guy. Forget experience they hired the OLINE COACH for tebow's sake! HHAHAHAH

:(

Niners I need you to win so bad!

Excellent. I have money ball coming in today from Netflix. Read the book twice. I have Tree of Life sitting at home, I'll get around to that this week.

Effzee: After Spags, we promoted Bill Sheridan to DC, he was awful. Got rid of him after a year and hired Perry.

Joe and Evan trying their best to bait Antrel today on his spot with some Vernon Davis quotes. He didn't bite. Funny moment where he acknowledges his constant "at the end of the day" line. He changed it up to "when all is said and done" to a good laugh from both hosts. Good stuff.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo just got released here, it was pretty good. Also went to see The Darkest Hour, that was a bad decision.
