Hopefully after this the niners will finally get rid of that pos Alex Smith and actually get a decent QB for once. Don't understand why the niners stuck with Smith for this many years only to get nothing but mediocrity from him.

I don't think of us thought it would end this way.

Well, we had a great season and we went further than anyone would have predicted at the start. Last one who leaves The Stadium Once Again Known As Candlestick Park, turn out the lights. See you guys next year!

Never though at the beginning of the year that I would be rooting for the Patriots in the Superbowl. The post season has been just as disappointing as the regular season.

But it feels just as good, goldlion, you have to admit. Especially to see those who defeated us go down in flames each week.

Nah man, I am really just empty inside after the performance Detroit laid out against the Saints in the wildcard. Not a single emotion

Congrats Giants! What an amazing run at the end of the season. And nothing to be ashamed of 9ers fans. What an amazing season from you guys

Haha Niners! Sad thing is Giants really couldn't do much offensively today. I don't have high hopes of them beating the Pats.

This is a god damn lose lose situation for us Jets fans. Fuck it, I hate Brady so I'm rooting for the Giants, but I dont think they will win.

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
Congrats, Giants fans!

Great game--should be a great Super Bowl.

Congrats on a great year, 49ers fans.

Edit: Just saw that 9ers fans are blaming the refs on the play that was clearly where forward progress had stopped.

Maybe you should have scored the numerous times you had the ball and the Giants were doing nothing.

Pretty incredible they made it so far considering how this year went. Not a hardcore NY football guy but they certainly went through a lot this year.

No way of knowing, really.

Sure you can ... look at completion stats between when they're iced and when they aren't (normalized for distance ranges).

IIRC, the answer is no ... it doesn't work. Actually has a higher completion percentage (though I don't think it's by all that much)

49er fans - we had a great season but it just didn't happen for us. Great game by the Giants and hopefully next year we can build on the success we had this year after so many years of mediocrity.

Good luck Giants and NFC represent!

There was no winning for Lions fans in this game, I think. Seeing a Patriots/Giants remach is annoying, but watching Harbs go to the Super Bowl in his first year would have been just as bad. The best I could have hoped for with this final four was Ravens/Giants in the most meaningless SB possible but Cundiff kinda fucked that over for me already.

I said I'd wait until I knew who would be in the Super Bowl to determine who I would root for, but I can't have any rooting interest in this one. Bleh.

I don't understand. Winning playoff games is how you become an elite QB... Eli didn't win this one. Look, Eli is a great quarterback, I respect him, but he is not on his brother's, Bradys or Brees level.

I'm sorry, who was the MVP in the last Super Bowl that the guy in your avatar was in?
