NFL Super Bowl XLVI |OT| Matchup More Unwanted Than Madonna's Halftime Show

So three of the 5 best QBs in the league have dominated their conference? I'm shocked!

Really though, that stat is the exact reason we spend so much time arguing about who is elite. You have to talk yourself into the bonafides of your QB or you are resigning yourself to years or futility

the steelers getting to 2/3 of those SBs had a lot more to do with the defense than roethlisberger.

What's with the thread title? This isn't Alabama/LSU. I'm sure Belichek and Brady still hold a strong grudge against the G-men for wrecking their perfect season and want revenge just as much as the title. Meanwhile Eli, long in the shadow of big bro Peyton, goes for his second ring to become the best Manning in the only category that counts. Not to mention against a rival everyone loves to hate. I, for one, wanted this rematch.

How people cannot be excited for a Super Bowl Rematch, between 2 Super Bowl MVP QBs, is beyond me. I mean come on man, when is the last time that's happened?

Crabtree caught one pass for 3 yards Sunday. A postgame interview wasn't productive, either.

"Sometimes you just gotta move the ball, man," Crabtree said. "You gotta make plays. You gotta give people a chance to make plays. You gotta make plays."

That's going to be trouble

Perfect. What a massive fuck-up.

I don't follow NFL that closely. Just a terrible day for Kyle Williams or is he no stranger to fumbles

As an Eagles fan I don't know how to feel about this Super Bowl. I guess deep inaside I want Brady to win again being IMO he is the greatest ever. I like the Ginats well enough just hate there fans.

this is the second SB QB rematch overall. happened with bills-cowboys and steelers-cowboys in 79. pretty cool stuff.

2001 is too far, when the trio (Kraft/Parcells/Bledsoe) came everything changed around here. There was always a loyal fanbase for the Patriots. The prior years probably comparable to the Islanders maybe in the Boston sports structure.

Hence why Bledsoe > Brady.

Yeah, I would agree with this. Ever since Kraft/Bledsoe, the fanbase has been really loyal. Actually, I think the only deviance would be the tail end of the Grogan years until we drafted Bledsoe. Some terrible years in between there, though.

Definitely the SEA one. I'd argue that Ben was pretty good in the two playoff games before being great against AZ

ben was fine against the chargers, but that game was won by fast willie and the santonio punt return (i'll admit the the defense wasn't too great, but it wasn't bad by any means). against the ravens, the defense was just lights out. the ravens were lucky to score 14 points (punting failures for the steelers).

Well it is finally time for revenge, not only for extraordinarily dedicated quarterback Tom Brady but head coach of the New England Patriots, Bill Belichick. The Patriots, winning eighteen games only to lose it all in the Super Bowl to the Giants, now have their chance to claim their revenge in a game that matters more than ever.

Here is to Tom Brady, best quarterback of all time (in consideration to his 3 rings, wins, 2007 season, modeling career, 20$ million dollar mansion, fucking multiple actresses and super models and having kids with a couple in between). And Bill Belichick, best head coach of all time (salary cap-era plus he is cooler). And lets not forget owner Robert Kraft, considered one of the best owners in history, making it to his fifth championship this year despite the passing away of his wife.
Joe Montana>Brady

I'm sorry it is the truth.

More proof NFL-GAF is Best-GAF. Two stickied threads. I bet we could start an NFL Draft thread and get it stickied too

So, Ray coming back for another season. That man is a beast, even at his age. My respect, man. Shame it didn't work out yesterday...

the only reason nfl gaf needs two threads is because it needs all the exposure it can get. It needs two threads and a whole season just to keep up with one month of nba gaf posts.
Don't bring that juvenile crap in here. NFL-GAF is better than that.

whoops. too late.

on to topic, just saying as someone that grew up watching the giants as a kid, i hope hope ms Brady gets a new asshole.

Just heard his post game interview on ESPN, the guy is a class act. He didn't blame Cundiff and said they lost as a team.

Tony Romo was right all along,
the team that beats
the Cowboys are going to the Super Bowl.

I don't want to be mean but: FMT talked shit about the AFC and how much of a shitty conference it is etc but the Niners couldn't even get out of their own conference. :jnc

Join us in the offseason FMT! And when the Pats win, stfu about the conferences and other bullshit.

Niners defense played a hell of a game, too bad outside of davis and gore their offense looked like dick. Much like the Texans actually. Congrats to G-men fans and squicken (I see that avatar, boi)!

Just got home from The Stick. When Williams fumbled the punt you might as well lined us up to all jump off the Bay Bridge - the place just went into denial and shock. Totally gutted, and the 2 hours in the parking lot stuck in traffic, plus 2 more to get home absolutely has me salty. Go Pats! ...someone has to take them down, since we basically beat ourselves.

sounds about right

Finally our Saviour returns to his rightful place in front of the world where he may preach his message. 4 times this has happened before and 3 times he has been successful. The last time was won if not for the cursed darkness that manifested himself within Tyree. Satan changed the outcome of that day and he will try again to overcome because if the Lord is able to do it a fourth time, then Satan and the rest of the darkness in the world will be defeated and there will be peace on Earth. I will be praying hard during these next 2 weeks and I hope my prayers can help the Lord thwart Satan but Satan tends to use the least likely of servants (scrubs like Tyree) to accomplish his goals.
