If the argument pertains to "Is Flacco an elite quarterback now?", then the answer is simply no. Elite quarterbacks don't cry to the media moments after the game addressing his eliteness.
I thought the defensiveness in his press conference was hillarious, something like I played the same all year as I played today if you watched the games. Bullshit. Talk about a guy who cares too much about the media's impression of him.

JOE FUCKING FLACCO- Did he play ok yesterday? Yes, shit, he outplayed Brady, but here's my problem. That was one game. That wasn't the fucking tipping point on him becoming a great quarterback. It was a fucking outlier. And the shit is, he did enough yesterday to make people think he isn't a shit quarterback, and that we should lock him up to a long term contract. WHICH IS FUCKED!! He's not a winner, the team is a winner, he's not ELITE, he's not the reason we win, and his tard mustache needs to go worse than Cundiff. His performance yesterday not only didn't get us a win, but it fucked us out of our Super Bowl chances for the next five years.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

At least the Niners lost too, so there's that

So good.

It's all I've been hearing...Joe played his butt off etc etc. He played a "good game", but you're right. You're now officially stuck with him.

Should be fun!

Heartbreaking, heartbreaking loss. To see the game end on such a ridiculous mistake by a guy who'd already made 3 of them prior (one of which cost us 7) was just a bitter pill to swallow. Game was handed to the Giants twice. Still stings bad.

The non-fumble forward progression call was absolute horseshit, everyone knows it and the game was over had it not been called, but what are you gonna do. Bad calls happen all the time.

Offense was very inconsistent and shaky throughout, especially the pass game, but Smith made some great throws and great run decisions, and the run game was very solid. Our defense absolutely dominated the Giants all game, outside of the Rogers/Cruz matchup, Victor was en fuego. The second half especially was a complete shutdown, especially if Kyle fucking Williams didn't feel the need to stand two fucking inches away from a bouncing football.

Today is a dark, dark day. Great season, great things ahead, but a shit way to end it.

Game was lost when your DB's start colliding with each other with the ball right between them. At least twice. If they would have capitalize on those turnovers, then it would have been a usual 9ers recipe for win. When Eli gave you the change you guys did not capitalize.

The fumble was a judgement call that can go either way. But your team lost in the field because it did not make the plays it usually does (Creating and capitalizing on turnovers)

Classy as usual, but I'm not making excuses, we still had our shots to win and we didn't. Just a shame to see such a blatantly bad call at a critical moment, an increasing trend this year in many games.

find a recent example of the opposite call being made. Not saying it in no way COULD have been called the other way, just that I don't really think it does.

I was pulling for the 49ers all the way but can you really honestly say that forward progress wasn't stopped? It was a judgment call that could have easily gone either way.

And another Patriots'... FIRST DOWN SUPERBOWL!

Added a few to show that even though it's been a Pats/Colts/Steelers decade for the AFC, it's really been mostly the Pats. Also, the Steelers SB wins were absolute jokes. Seahawks and Cardinals? Really? People actually take satisfaction in those? Whoop-dee-fn' ding.

3 point wins over Delhomme and McNabb? While needing flash cards? Color me impressed.

Disagree, the game was not on our defense, just like how I don't think it was on the offense's horrific 3rd down conversion ratio. That was all the Giants D, and that's why the game was very competitive and went down to the wire, anyone's game to win.

I've seen fumbles get called when progress is stopped, but when the ball carrier is being moved backwards before the strip, I don't think it ever goes that way.

Forward progress was absolutely, 100% stopped. Because he was being tackled to the ground.

Irregardless, it is one small moment in the game, and not the moment to be focused on. But easy pickings for some of the classier folks here I see.

See below.

I can't seriously listen to anyone saying that the Niners gave the game away on STs and that Kyle Williams cost themselves a trip to the SB. Here's the tale of the tape for me on this game:

  • 1/13 on third down
  • All of 1 completion to WRs all game
  • 12/26 196 passing yards for Smith but 101 yards came on 2 receptions by Davis (see below)
  • Two touchdowns on busted coverages to Davis

I'll leave it to one's discretion whether or not to credit the Giants D on any of the above points.

Uh...do you know the rules of football?

Skip just interviewed Suggs on 1st take, and Suggs was not in the mood for cute wordplay and he let Skip know that.

What was the context? Did he just flatout call him a douchebag?

For those of us stuck in the office :(

Give yourself some credit, mang. Schaub is a better quarterback than Flacco.

I dunno.

Schaub has folded under pressure many times in the 4th quarter of games. At least Flacco has some of that under his belt. That's why I said it's a wash...

Flacco? A professional quarterback doing the job he is paid to do properly?! I'm shocked. Playing well in a loss means nothing. We are just going to have to see his performance going forward.

Which will be the same shit we're used to. Flacco is shit, and now we're stuck with his shit for the next 5 years. Please let Ozzie wise up and not lock him up long term.

He talked about praying on the sideline, Suggs only knocking down Brady once, Harbaugh and the scramble for the kick. Suggs said they were confused about what down it was.

You shouldn't of been playing against NE anyway...you just happened to play TJ Yates and catch Jacoby on one of his dumber days.

What a conflicted Super Bowl, on one hand I don't want to hear you NBC bitches continue to call AFC JV so a Pats victory would be needed, But that would lead to Tammy having a 4th ring. Fuck it, i guess i can read your annoying posts a little longer nfc-age. I hope Giants win this shit.

Skip was trying to get Suugs to call out his teammates, coaches, and the officials for losing the game. He was looking to get a controversial soundbyte by twisting Suggs' words, i.e. the same usual ratings whoring he always engages in.

Salty much?

But honestly, if we weren't going to make the Superbowl anyway, I wish we had lost after that game. No way Flacco gets resigned after that abomination.

every game won by 9ers this year they forced a turnover. Your offense is not good enough and your Defense sets it up.

Your defense had ball handed to them by Eli, and missed it twice with collisions. Obviously its not your defense fault they lost the game. But, the defense also did not capitalize on turnovers like they do when your team wins.

The only stat that matters in this game was NY Giants with 0 turnovers.
