Who knows, maybe the will send out another wave of invites :P

On a side note the patch notes look promising and it should be interesting what the players will think.

Dunno if game was dropping this for me, but got a ton of hp/vamp items.

Was fun, let's play some more later!

I don't know if it's me but it seems like some of the randomization (at least the entrance part) seems a lot more improved. It used to be always the same thing but that may just be my imagination :)

Too tired to continue on, but yeah fun stuff with you guys tonight! Already got white/blue boots on my DH! ;o
I shall cherish that album Haz

As for impressions, it seems a lot more solid overall with regards to game stability and bugs.
  • The white item uncraftability has made it just like DII where whites are ignored by players 90% of the time. Drop rate for magic and rares have not changed too much.
  • Skill change is well done, the 30 sec cool down will punish you for swapping in the middle of battle.
  • Might be a bug, but you can still swap out the "potion button" with a skill.
  • New stats are virtually unnoticeable, as long as you want damage just make sure it's your main attribute.
  • Crafting is simpler, but requires more work.

Overall, good patch, still needs some kinks worked out in balance, but this game is- RELEASE IT ALREADY BLIZZARD.

30s cooldown is stupid when you could have gone to town, tested different skills, then warped back faster.
You have to wait 30s even in town I'm pretty sure.

I believe it says in the release notes that this is purely for the beta right now. That they are working on the actual functionality but that the button for now can be a skill also.

I am glad to see you guys like the patch. I hope to hit it Wednesday!

Nice to see the changes are well received amongst you guys. I haven't had a chance to play the new patch yet,but I'm glad they reactivated the achievements! Can't wait.

Such torture to wait for my beta activation. At least now I've got the knowledge that it is in fact coming.
Good to see you guys are having fun!

Haha, I know right? Seen a lot of good impressions so far and its really nice to hear that some of the bugs were squashed out.(To be expected, beta :P)

So the general opinion is the game is fit for release?

Not sure about server stability considering how many people there will be in each region, but everything I played in the beta seems acceptable to launch. Then again we have only seen a small section of the first act.

Have to remember though this is Blizzard they launch when they say its ready.

My friend happened to get in the beta he played it through twice and didn't go back. He let me try I played through it once and said alright well I'll be back when it comes out also. Even after the new patches still no desire to play through it again.

Played a bit and I like the removal of the Nephalem Altars, not needing to pick up white items makes looting/selling/salvaging much more efficient as well. This should ease people's complaints about having to travel to town to deal with your inventory. You just simply won't have to as often. Unless your OCD about items and you just can't let any items be left behind. Stutter still seems to be present though a bit less exaggerated than last patch. I haven't really go into crafting yet on this patch so no comment there. So far though, it's feeling pretty good!

Also played through it earlier today and I like all the changes.

Note: the skill/rune system is still NOT final. They said this in the patch notes so expect this iteration of it to change in the future.

disinitigrate and other channeling spells make your game go out of sync :-( (you have to alt-f4)

Yeah, that is a known issue. I thought it might have been fixed in previous patches so they will probably have to look back into that for patch 10.

I also thought they said to have it fixde... well that's what beta's for :-D
turning of v-sync is a supposed workaround according to official forums.

Does the game seem even more smooth/responsive to anyone else, or is it just me?

It does for me as well, a lot of people on Bnet forums seems to think the same, game is a lot more stable. The people running into problems, such as channeling spells, are people who have had problems since a few patches ago in the first place.

Nope.
I had zero issues before this patch and have now run into the channeling spell issue which sparked up the Error 30008, and has now evolved into not being able to log on again.
I'm getting Error 395002 as of now and if the wiki is right it refers to database issues, and it seems to me that it could be server-side related.
A fair guess would be that when my game crashed the information that holds my character list got corrupted. But it's only a laymans guess at this point.

still no beta invite :(
diablo 2 is my most played game ever...

No kiddin, still waiting for a beta invite and I've been signed up since day 1, got the WoW annual pass, and all the good stuff. Most anticipated game for me in a long time. Hoping for a summer release, too many good games come out in the fall.

I've had an itch for a loot game for the last couple of days now. It would be the perfect timing to finally get in the beta!

I've got to a point where I can reload the battle.net page all day without ever having to re-enter my login... I'm telling you, it's a science!

Me too. I own every Blizzard game except Warcraft 1 and they never choose me for the beta (WoW, SC2 and now D3...) :(

Lol right there with you, and I did own Warcraft but have no idea where the game might be now. I still remember walking into Target with my Mom (I was too young to drive) and buying Diablo II. Cannot wait for this! I do hope they expand the beta soon or announce a date, at least I can calm down if they announce a date that isn't Nov 2012 or something.

So far, this patch has all but removed the constant hitching I'd see whenever the game streamed in more content (which is ALL THE TIME). Thumbs up!

edit: Nevermind, not fixed. See my next post below.

No change for me, maybe it stutter a little less with v-sync on, but without it looks the same.

Yeah. When I posted that last night, everything was perfect. I tried multiple characters, no problems at all.

Then I booted it up today and it's back to stutter city. I'm going to be so disappointed if this continues at launch.

I suppose I could try installing to my SSD, just in case that helps. But it really feels like a bug since I can run far more technically demanding games without a hitch.
