lulz. hopefully you dont pussy out like your boy snesfreak when it comes time to pay the piper!

Well that bet was based on Cowher or Marty Schottenheimer being the head coach of the Bucs, so it's beginning to look like the bet is off. : (

But I assure you sir I am a man of my word. Any bet I make will be honored without complaint.

community is a safe comedy and that's why it kinda sucks. i watched the first season and there were laughs here and there but ultimately nothing memorable

I've watched a few, and I chuckled. But that's not that big of a deal, I'm not picky with my entertainsments.

definitely worth a follow on Twitter. Been posting a bunch today on QB play and evaluation

http://blog.chron.com/fantasyfootba...th-observations-from-tuesdays-north-practice/

Guy has good connections with scouts through his dad and radio work with athletes/talent evaluators. Really liked Kirk Cousins

greg cossell said the lions would go deep in the playoffs and the 49ers wouldn't because of their respective QB's. thumbs up greg

Yeah Community is awful.

I really dislike it's thoughtful premises and childlike creativity.

If its not dark and gritty or have a lot dick and sex jokes in it, I'm tooootally uninterested.

It's possible he doesn't know anything. But one wrong pick isn't going to change my mind. I'm more inclined to view the Saints game as an outlier, with Gregg Williams' moron blitzing a contributing factor

I also like Community, but the hardcore fans of the show are creepier than the pony people. I nearly quit watching b/c GAF's thread is so full of quasi-stalkers

I'd say the first season they hadn't quite figured out how to keep the show consistently funny. Was in the 2nd season that they realized they needed to throw the school aside for the most part and just use the Seinfeld approach....a show about nothing. When the realized this, it got really good and just let the writers be way more creative.

Show took an entire season to get going you say?

so 1 bad game against the giants (a game where he threw 2 TD's and had 0 turnovers) is the real alex smith. but a season full of quality play is an abberation? alright, that makes sense.

i don't think alex smith is a great qb but given the type of run game and defense we have, he has enough to get the job done. he is not a backup in this league anymore than the guys starting for 20+ teams in this league.

i guess it says something about the league when 20 years ago you had a hall of famer (steve young) backing up a hall of famer (joe montana). i don't understand the "alex smith is a backup in this league" comments when he is better than at least half of the QB's starting for other teams. yeah, alex is a backup on the patriots, eagles, packers, etc. but a lot of guys are backups if you put them on other teams. roofles would be a backup on new england. tony romo would be a backup on the eagles. erron rodgers would be a backup on the packers

Why do you guys defend him? Your coach is awesome. Your defense is awesome. Your special teams are usually awesome. Why are you so accepting of a guy who is bottom third of NFL starters? It may be hard to find a different guy. So? Keep trying until you do.

This year broke great for you. Really lucky on injuries. Won every almost every close game (isn't sustainable; regresses to the mean). You need your QB to help you win, not just not lose. As a Rams fan I hope you sign him to a 5 year $60 million contract. I imagine every fan of every other NFCW feels the same way

edit: I switched to the Giants avatar in 2008 to show support for their battle versus evil Patriots. Doing the same for the next two weeks. Then back to Cruise

Are you fucking insane?

defend what? i already said he isn't great. show me an elite qb out there that we can get. and he's not bottom third in the league. he's right in the middle. he's better than every other QB in our division. if something better comes along then cool but alex isn't horrible

as for winning the close games, whatever. packers won 6 games by 1 score or less. niners won 7 games by 1 score or less. OMG PACKERS WILL REGRESS! 8-8 SEASON UPCOMING! we had the 4th highest point differential in the league. so keep talking like all the fucking idiot ESPN talking heads who don't actually watch our game but check out the box score and think they know what's going on!

I don't know about Peyton on the Niners. Harbaugh likes mobile QBs. You look at Luck, Alex and Kaepernick and that's the only common trend. The Niners pass protection isn't that great. They normally always keep a back in to block. I question how Peyton could operate behind that line and how long he'd last.

Alex Smith was a top ten quarterback this season with only two targets. I mentioned the other day, a veteran wide would have been invaluable for the 49ers this post season.

So if the Colts ditch Peyton, where does he go?

Top ten?! Name 'em.

I don't have a organized list. For a guy with a lousy o-line and not many targets, he took care of the football with the best of them.

Could be a single season fluke. I'd be extremely happy going forwarding into next season with his performance. Doesn't work out in 2012? Move forward. You can always trade him to the Raiders or something.

Wait, Giants players admitted to going after Kyle Williams because of his history of concussions? That's shameful. I know that it's probably a reality of the game, but why would you even admit that after all those discussions about head injuries? And especially as a defensive player when your job gets harder every year exactly because they try to reduce the risk of those types of injuries? SMH

Posted an article a week or so ago saying the same thing. Gregg Gabriel wrote it, former Bills and Giants scout, former director of College Scouting for the Bears. Read it here.

Been thinking about this the last few weeks, but forgot to put it in my previous post. If the Ravens can use Johnson effectively, I'm not sure why I'm hung up on size for Ingram/Upshaw, they're both better talents than he was.

Interesting. Thanks for the link.

The thing is Tannehill wil have to sit for a year. If a coach plays him at any point year one, the owner should leave the box and fire him on the spot. He's going to need to play for a team with a stop gap in place (SEA, BUF, HOU?)

They could easily play McCoy for another year. Use the excuse that last year he had no weapons and no offseason to learn a new offence. Which would be true, although some sections of the fans would be pissed. The other players like McCoy though so maybe it's wise to give him another year and develop Tannehill behind him.

I think the problem with Alex Smith is that his performance never buys him more than "one more year". He's been in the league for seven.

Alex Smith isn't Blaine Gabbert. He's not raw. He has an established body of work that says "This is the best he's ever been". Even in his arguably best year he was still mediocre.

If I were Jim Harbaugh, I wouldn't waste my honeymoon on him. The book on Alex Smith has been written, bombed and is in the bargain bin for a nickel.
