Generally speaking, do you suggest to rush for Aghanim after completing the core?
On Veno? I usually play him as pure support, so core for me is Wards / Counters / Smoke etc. If I'm fortunate enough to be getting kills / tower kills then Agha is something I look into getting, but majority of games by the time I finish it, unless I'm doing really well, it's at the point where it's not really important.

Fun games today, first one 4 mid heroes and two of them are complete garbage, 2nd game we've got it won by miles but they decide to just sit back and farm for 30 mins against 4 carries and we lose. Hopefully they fix the matchmaking soon, sick of playing with shit players.

BORING.

(That's usually how I play him as well.)

I'm now convinced I'm in the Shit Bracket as normally when I play with my full group it's a toss up whether or not I'll win (and lately I've been losing more than winning), but today I've been playing with Not The Full Group... and we've been stomping nonstop.

To the point where I feel bad for the other team.

I feel sad for both them and me. ):

You guys should all be happy with neogaf. I just had the displeasure of playing with reddit and ohmygodwhy. Not only are they bad -- extremely bad -- but they're ragers and flamers and arrogant snobby little twits. Seriously one of the worst dota experiences ever, worse than random pubs. The only redeeming factor is that they only play CM.

Hahaha our 18 minute match was the worst type of stomping I've seen.

We should get together and stomp some more :3

What little I've learned from inhouses is that they aren't any better than matchmaking. It's just a smaller cesspool inside the larger one, and people expect higher level of play in these "inhouses".

Did some with TL, only difference to MM is that we went with captain's mode and there weren't anyone talking in Russian. Some dude ragequit in the opposing team as we messed up his farming (he was fv), rest of the games were unbalanced as hell since there's no idea of individual skill levels.

IH only work when you either have some sort of ladder/ranking system, or the community is small enough that you know most of the players and how their level.

Dota 2 without Russians in it? What kind of sorcery are you talking about? Even GAF's Ih isn't an exception.

I thought everyone here knows each others level, yet I can see matches with Milk, Swag, 1.09, etc. on the same team. Not that I complained, but it's just more fun to play when sides are more or less even.

Sometimes people who make the lobbies don't wait until the teams are balanced to start the game, sometimes people just like to stack.

I still don't feel ready to join an IH, but if you guys need an extra person I could join. Or maybe ill just watch for now).

Stomps on either side are frustrating. I try to balance, but there are so many gaps in skill that it is impossible. Maybe Delirium will start playing Dota 2 in the near future and make a program that calculates an ELO.

It's not hard to do, Swag also took the code for something else ;)

Does abandoning a game actually have any affect on the player other then adding to the abandon count? I just had a game where my team decided that the game was lost 10 minutes in and quit one by one. Then the game never gave that message about how it's safe to leave, so I never quit. Still managed to go on for 30 minutes.

You get put into low priority matchmaking after 2 abandons in a row or somewhere around that number. You don't want to go there.

You can get put into low priority queue for 24 hours each infraction after your first. Though my net cut out pretty close to the end of the match and I didn't get an abandon(even though the game went on for another 10~ minutes).

In your situation I'd have left, no point dragging out a 1v5 for 30 minutes.

You sure it didn't show the message though? I can understand maybe a bug caused the message not to be shown on the first leaver but on the next 3 too?

It only shows the "Safe to leave" message once.
Yeah I mean maybe it forgot to show it the first time but you'd think it would on the second, third or fourth since it has to show up at least once.

On the topic of leavers, really wish you'd receive the gold and items from people who leave. I mean odds of you to win are maybe low but it's still possible.

If people leave and it doesn't show "Player has X minutes left to reconnect" then I believe the game is safe to leave.

Watching SK.Link stream's atm, and I'm quite curious about how Valve will answer when DotA2 comes out.

I mean...well, again there's an Invoker in this game, and again his silly NadoEMP combo is causing serious, serious trouble for the Radiant. So at least I'm comforted since I'm not alone in having huge difficulties with it.

However, it begs the question, how will Valve cater to and retain the more casual players? How long can they just ignore the incessant complaints about such and such heroes? Or will they just entirely dismiss that player base?

One thing Valve will do is have a "newbie island" matchmaking pool where anti-fun complex heroes like Invoker are locked away

Maybe they'll just be like S2 and tell them to fuck off and go play something else.

I hope not though!

Nothing but Crystal Maiden.

We need to do this in an inhouse sometime when they enable the mode. Carry CMs, Initiator CMs, Ganker CMs, reg CMs!

Tobi shouted out "my" hare-brained Mirana diffusal scheme to counter Skeleton King (ilu).

Still could be workable later on, when he won't want to reserve a slot for a Soul Ring.

ooooh my god finally ! :I

It only took ooh 150 games or so... I've finally won more games than I lost.

That is good to hear! Let the leavers play together!

In your situation I'd have left, no point dragging out a 1v5 for 30 minutes.
I really don't want to end up playing with more leavers, so I'll stick it out. I was enjoying myself anyway, it was like some kind of messed up tower defense.

I got 2 abandons because of this one. It was Safe to Leave, yet the game counted me as leaver.
Yeah, this is why I don't like quitting even if that message comes up; it seems pretty buggy.

You sure it didn't show the message though? I can understand maybe a bug caused the message not to be shown on the first leaver but on the next 3 too?
It definitely didn't show up, I was watching that chat like a hawk.

If people leave and it doesn't show "Player has X minutes left to reconnect" then I believe the game is safe to leave.
But with people saying that leaving even when it has come up occasionally results in an infraction I'm definitely not taking that risk!

it will probably come down to how successful the game is. honestly though, they have surely done their homework and have come to realize that league of legends will always have the advantage on the casual-friendly side of things. excessively catering to that market will do nothing but harm Valve and drive away the playerbase that has stuck with the game precisely because of how dense it is.

A new feature I have noticed and like is that the moment the player manually clicks "Leave Game", they will automatically get a leave, and you don't even have to wait the 5 minutes.
