I feel sorry for Tampa Bay. He's a terrible game day coach.

His worth was in player development, and recruitment. Those skills don't translate easily to the NFL.

True. Since he started for Miami, he's been 6-3 in their last 9 games. It was his FIRST year with the team.

That game aginst the Eagles the pass rush was crazy, they were in his face every time he dropped back, and he stood in there and made some plays. I dont get why people are so quick to want to dump him. Give him another year, build up the offense, and draft a developmental QB later on in the draft. No way would I trade a 1st round pick for Flynn.

If Schiano can bring a good staff in with him he'll be successful, if he can't, well....good luck.

To me, I know him more as "the guy that had Ray Rice run the ball." They really haven't done anything since he left, and was even worse before Ray.

God, I hope the Buc's don't draft Richardson. :lol

Maybe the Bucs can use some of that extra money on a new long snapper this offseason to go alongside their big acquisition of P Michael Koenen last year.

:)

Bucs hiring Shiano made me chuckle, must of gotten some sort of sexual favor from the Rutgers AD to get them out of that hindering contract.

The more I think about the Colts and their attitude this offseason, the more uncomfortable I'd be if I were Andrew Luck. Even if you turn out to be one of the best ever, then you're still going to an organization that won't put competent pieces around you and is seemingly okay with shitting all over you down the road. Godspeed young man.

If (when) this all blows up and the Bucs are shit again, it will probably kill me.
Raheem nearly did me in, I can't take anymore of this.

Giants Practice report:

Not practicing today:

WR Hakeem Nicks (Shoulder)
C David Baas (Abdominal Contusion)
RB Ahmad Bradshaw (Foot)
PR Will Blackmon (??)
CB Corey Webster (Hamstring)
LB Chase Blackburn (??)
RB DJ Ware (??)
S Tyler Sash (Concussion)

None of these are considered to be serious injuries. Mostly resting some of these guys after a pretty physical game against the Niners.

I forgot Ray Rice was on that team, hmm. I doubt the Bucs will draft Richardson though, if they do they're crazy.

Schiano's biggest strengths, college recruiting and creating a fantastic academic program, should be a big help to him down in Tampa Bay.

So I guess it's official now.
Well, we'll see what happens.
My life is in your hands, don't fuck this up Greg.
I expect to be dead before my birthday...

Schiano basically lucked out alot of times, with Syracuse firing Pasqualoni(Rice was an Orangemen recruit) and Pitt with the mustache.

It is a skill to be good at taking advantage of other team's misfortunes.

UConn couldn't do that for years under Randy Edsall. Now with Pasqualoni, they are in prime position to vulture some recruits.

Schiano recruited players like Anthony Davis, Kenny Britt, Devin McCourty, etc. It wasn't just Ray Rice.

He's good at finding talent. He's had quite a few players go to the pros while at Rutgers.

This is what's going to happen probably. We draft a QB to develop and give Moore another year. People are just sick of developing mediocre QBs down here.

There's no decent high school football in Connecticut so Edsall was screwed. Jersey isn't Florida/Texas/Cal, but all those players you mentioned came from Jersey. We lucked out last year with Hafley who was beating Schiano in getting the NJ Recruits, but today really screwed any positive momentum Rutgers had the last ten years. This recruiting class is going to evaporate to zero.

McCourty's went to St. Joes which is in NJ, and his florida pipeline closed a while back. And Edsall never had a chance to pick apart the big screw ups like Cuse/Pitts/Rutgers. This is all about luck and timing.

Ehh... The McCourtys are from New York, not New Jersey.

Courtney Greene was also from New York, not New Jersey.

As was Brian Leonard.

Not to mention Florida players like Eric Foster.

The era of Schiano has begun. Look the fuck out. The Bucs are taking the south and the conference and the goddamn SUPER BOWL!

In case this doesn't work out I need a new team to hate. Can't be a south team or the 9ers/Pats. Too easy. Also can't be the Eagles because fuck that whole city.

football

Not excited about the Schiano hire. Especially not excited about the fact he got a 5-year deal.

On top of my not being excited about this for the Bucs, it probably sends 5* Darius Hamilton to UF now too. Just an all-around crap hire for me.

So if we suck this year, who's gonna make the "snesfreak: 1981-2012" thread?
I'll do the honors.

It'll be a topic on gaming side disguised as breaking news for a new Zelda game, but when you enter the topic it'll just be a big picture of Freeman.
