lol at that Invoker vs Na'vi. 27/2/11. I think Na'vi will start banning that more, lol

puppey said he doesnt ban invoker because he is always banned in dota1 that alot of people dont practice or play often with him.

NAVI did pretty poorly, and the constant pausing was pretty BM.
why would it be bm when most of these players are used to pauses in dota1? Not to mention that pauses allows the player to settle down and rethink things

How else do you deal with disconnects?

Also, how is it any different from a timeout in most competitive sports? (Although those generally take place in between plays, I think? I don't... watch sports religiously, soooo I dunno.)

The ref are the only ones that can pause in starcraft tournaments. Physical Sports have limits on duration and how many you have a quarter. I agree with if you DC game should pause.

There is a limit of three pauses per team in matchmaking (and usually you have to use all three at once because someone on the other team is a dick and refuses to wait). I'm assuming there's a similar limitation in tournaments.

Did anyone else notice that in the Clinkz patch, they changed it to where taking focus off of the Dota 2 window, it's sound still plays? I like this change.

Doesn't happen to me... Weird (is it an option?)

(Playing with borderless windowed mode that is)

Join the gaf in-game channel (NeoGAF) or the mumble channel.

Also big shit talking from Lirlond, shame you got stomped :(

Tried jumping in to a game for the first time today. No fucking clue what was going on. The whole shopping/inventory/stash thing is confusing as shit. Anyone know a guide or something i can read to understand not the strategic mechanics but actually how to play the game?

cant play bone fletcher because he gets insta picked every game

Sanjay I apologize for being a dick in Mumble. I was upset that I had lost my 4th game in a row and I lashed out.

tell me something new archie.

everyone gets salty at sanjay, it's a rite of passage for new players to become intermediate players this way.

Yeah I just randomed kunkka and was awful, couldn't hit anything at all.. Felt sorry for my team, but our comp was pretty terrible anyway, so probably would've lost anyway.

I think kunkka is the hero with the hardest spells to land in the game. None of his shit is easy to use well.

Kunkka takes more skill than other supposedly hard heroes like Invoker, thats for sure. You have to have great game sense and quick chaining

I'm trying to learn Sand King. I usually start off with Bottle. Then getting Blink dagger on the way.
This heroes is a heavy ganker, I assume?

Oh, no, of course not! In general I find the Mumble to be pretty friendly and I like sitting in there when I'm playing in-houses. While there is a general air of arrogance from a lot of people in this thread (you included), when we're actually playing, it's never really been a problem for me. Except when HyunA blew up at me because I don't know how to play Sand King (despite me making it very clear that I don't know how to play Sand King).

But it still happens on occasion. That's all I'm saying.
why do i find this post so fucking funny?
/v/ has been really awesome with these images like this. I have a few myself.

Oh my gosh I must learn how to play Invoker. :D I think its funny cuz I was talking with someone for tips and he likes to use mnemonics, like QQ(Walk) for ghost walk. I thought that was pretty cute haha.

The problem with Bottle is after those three charges, you have no regen. I would get tangoes, flasks, and mana pots. Rushing Blink Dagger is nice, but getting Arcane Boots allows you to have enough mana for you and your team. After that you can get blink dagger.

It's always nice to play with people who want to whine.

They even told the enemy team to end it because they don't want to play anymore, and now that I'm just sitting at fountain, they're mad. It's all cool :)

There are so much items ;_;
Definitely will try that boot and a different start up item.

Played a couple of games against bots as Zeus and Anti-mage. Starting to get the flow of the game a little bit, but the hardest part right now is just figuring out what items I should be going for.

That does remind me, which items are good to Maximise Damage? I always feel my punches hit like pillows most games I play carry as. Its probably a mix of bad farming style (To much roaming, not enough staying in lanes getting money), but I also think I may just be getting stupid things.

I hate assholes. First thing that happens is a Russian text guy instapicks Riki, then he keeps overextending when we need to defend by himself and starts pinging the map for us to come help him when no one can get there. Dark Seer starts yelling at me about how terrible I am when he keeps diving in by himself when he knows we aren't there (I was Mirana). Then he just sits in fountain (doesn't disconnect) and just buys iron branches and drops them. Clinkz didn't say a word all game. Enchantress was Russian, but spoke English and was doing fine. We obviously lost.

Are there any good casters on youtube? I found DotaCinema who seems to cast tournaments and matches which are pretty fun to watch. I'm not as interested in live streaming, I can find guys on Own3d or Twitch no problem but I mainly want to watch matches with commentary.

Look up joindota, purgegamers and luminousinverse channels on youtube

Someone recommend me a new hero to learn!

I've got the following in my repertoire. I feel pretty confident in playing them, provided I have an appropriate team, and most importantly, I like them: Dazzle, Viper, Venomancer, Tidehunter, Lich.

I'm currently making an effort to learn these guys. I feel like I've got a pretty good grasp of how they play now, but I'm trying to really get them down: Lifestealer, Lion.

These are some guys I like but am terrible at for various reasons: Weaver, Earthshaker.

And here are a few that I've tried and... I'm pretty sure they're just Not For Me. Ever. Either because I hate them, or I suck at them. (Although I may be willing to give them another shot in the future): Sand King, Enigma, Chen, Crystal Maiden, Slardar.

Hurry up and learn Chen :3
