:jnc Seriously? Even less a surprise that Spags went to the Saints then.

He said he offered him a position for Castillo and Spags to collaborate. My surprise is that Andy Reid actually admitted this to the press. As if there wasn't enough evidence for the franchise's lack of confidence in Castillo.

I had heard that was the plan after the season ended but I am surprised they would admit it publicly. They wanted Spags to be DC, and Juan to be defensive assitant. It is to bad it didnt happen, but I think Juan and the D will be much improved next year.

based on what?

based on what?

What they did last season, plus having a full off season this year, plus the fact that the Eagles are more then willing to add pieces in the off season either through trades or free agency. The biggest things they need to do are add an OLB and move Asante, and they will absolutely do both.

There is actually a vineyard for sale near me. There are a shocking number of them in southern Indiana.

If I retire, when would I find time to post on GAF?

I've been shooting hoops past couple of days, it's crazy. When I was a kid I'd shoot with gloves on during the winter, now it feels like spring. Love winter, but last year wore me the fuck out, need a break from the cold/snow.

Just drove past the golf course (Ohio), and people are golfing.

I have a feeling we're going to be destroyed by snow in February.

It's finally starting to get a little cold over here, it's in the low 20's at the moment.

This is how you display Lombardi's, you heathens!

Not with those disgusting fonts and shoddy art!

They don't give the Best Artist Grammy to the guy who set up the studio's microphones. They don't give the Super Bowl MVP to the guy who bought the team overpriced headphones and then played one snap.

They also don't give awards to people who can't read. I said it would be nice, in a shocking heartwarming belief in humanity restored sort of way if Ocho played and played well enough to win SB MVP.

based on what?

THEY WON THEIR LAST FOUR GAMES! Take that Rex Grossman, back up Dallas QB, Mat Moore, and Mark Sanchez!

Also the Eagles always know what to do. The FO is always right. They always get the right FA and draft pick. So of course Juan will work out this year!

Overall much improved demeanor by Andy Reid in the PC that just ended. Owner, Lurie, did comment that he will talk to Andy about not treating the PC's like a chore, not answering any questions, and dismissing any criticism.

To that end this PC was one to behold. He took his time, answered every question thoughtfully, revealed a lot more of his feelings on the season, his thought process behind all the non moves, and thoughts on going forward. Good for him. He isn't Belichek, with 3 SBs on his belt, that he can treat the fans and media like shit.

Still don't get why he would offer Spags a position if it isn't clearly the DC position. No wonder Spags didn't come back. He was being offered a position so long as he worked with the staff Andy already assembled with Washburn and Juan not going anywhere. Good for Spags on making a smart decision.

And I know I am the resident Reid hater but I really all I care about is winning the SB. I liked this kinder gentler Reid. I am not delusional enough to think it will mean any major changes in terms of philosophy for drafting and how the offense and defense are run but if this man ever wins the Eagles the SB I will personally build him a statue in the middle of Philly. LETS GO EAGLES!

:(

I'd venture to guess that both the Grammy and the Super Bowl MVP have found their way into the hands of people who can't read.

Guess Luck is in then...

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/sports_blog/2012/01/peyton-manning-likely-will-never-play-football-again-sources-say.html

Peyton Manning's football career is likely over, two sources close to the Indianapolis Colts quarterback with knowledge of his recovery from neck surgery told Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports.

Although the vertebrae in Manning's neck have healed as expected, which allowed him to start throwing again back in December, the same can't be said for the nerves in his arm, according to the sources. They say the velocity on his passes has not improved and possibly never will.

Chargers cleats look lovely.

I haven't been keeping up with the whole Nike thing. Are uniforms changing as well? And more importantly, are they going to be like those horrific mockups that showed up a while back?

Well we got the gloves, now here's the new cleats from Nike:

Haven't following this much but is Nike now handling all the merchandise? Jerseys, gloves, and cleats?

Honestly the new gloves and cleats look pretty cool. How much are the jerseys going to change? I'd imagine not much.

Yep,

The mock-ups were fake last I looked. I don't think you'll see huge changes to the Jersey's. Some minor things here and there but that's just a hunch...

I don't know. I see Nike as a company that would want to differentiate themselves from the competition. Reebok's jerseys are so old looking now, I hope Nike pumps out some awesome stuff.

Well at the least some thing new will be done or how else do you make money.
I think we might see some alternate Jersey designs that may pop their head up for consumer purchase but I don't see them fucking with the tried and true designs on the field much. At least not initially.

Also, I don't agree about the designs of the current stuff being old though. Some teams? Sure. However, I don't know how much I'm wanting to see the Giants or Packers designs messed with (and I mention both because they happen to be my two favorites from a design/color standpoint).

I wish the Falcons would go back to basic black and white uniforms and ditch the red pajama look. If you want red, bring back the red helmets with the old logo.

My favorite.

If they're so dead set on using the current logo, I wish they would just use black instead of red for the home games.

I hope Nike gives us new uniforms. I hate the Bengals uniforms. Who decided that we have to have tiger stripes on everything?
They are not the stripes of a Tiger, they are the stripes of a prisoner.

And as for who decided it, take that up with the Ohio Department of Corrections.

Mike Brown?

Unfortunately, the stripes go back further than that. I have weird tastes in uniforms. For example, I am the only person on Earth who seems to like the old Tampa colors/Helmet. I fear, however, that our helmet has become too iconic to change. It's been 30 years since they switched to that design.

Funny thing is, when everybody else was hating those mock-up Nike uniforms, Bengals fans were like "...I hope these are real."

I knew I liked you for something.

I think the Cleat design is pretty fugly though, regardless of colors. Maybe it'll look better on the field

Vollmer is going to play in the Super Bowl. Great news!

INDIANAPOLIS -- New England Patriots starting offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer, who has missed the last seven games with back and foot injuries, will play in Super Bowl XLVI, offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia told WEEI.com on Tuesday.

"He'll play. He'll play in this game at some point, whether we have Nate (Solder) outside or him at tackle," Scarnecchia said, according to WEEI.com. "He's going to be out there, and thank God we've got him."
