I never realised it was an intercom but I didn't know it was a speaker box. That's how it can talk to you, it's a big speaker.

I assume it's because it needs to be knocking around the ROM anyway for SMB2US, so they may as well just add the missing frames to make it SMW-compliant.

Neither does Young Link's model in Ocarina of Time, though he does in the artwork. And he has one in Majora's Mask.

They added the sword strap to Link's model in Ocarina of Time 3D, for both Young and Adult Link.
