Patriots weren't even considered to be a playoff team last season.

I can see how you can say that. But as a fan of the Patriots, and knowing how the organization is currently run, they play with playoff contention every year. And last year, with consideration to Tom Brady's MVP performance, I don't know why you would think they weren't playoff worthy. A lot of people had them beating the Jets last year.

Did anyone else notice the paralells between The Lord of the Rings trilogy and the Patriots/Giants superbowl saga.

In the early 2000's, evil gathered its forces, reigned supreme and won three straight super bowls. Then, at the bleakest moment and by the slimmest of margins, the Giants win two massive battles (Helms Deep and the White City) to dethrone them?

No? Okay then :lol

If you actually think this is over....

Pats sign a Desean Jackson, Calvin Johnson esque reciever or somehow draft one.... and they can keep the TEs in NE... And make some huge adjustments on defense, you're looking at another Super Bowl run before Brady's out.

Patriots weren't even considered to be a playoff team last season.

Midseason I never expected them to make it to the Super Bowl this season. I had 0 expectations come playoffs, but then they destroy the Broncos (I know they're the Broncos) and slip by the Ravens (A game they probably should have lost) and I got my hopes up once again, to have my dreams crushed by Peyton's goober brother (Who played great and can be considered one of the better QB's to play today, dammit) and the damn Giants.

Being a sportsfan can be so intensely amazing and so fucking depressing, I wan't to crawl back in bed and stay there for a week.

Edit : Can somebody make me an avatar from Brady his face from the last Brady picture? The 2 times SB MVP one.

And they'll still get killed by a defensive team. The pats forgot how they won the 3 championships, refs, good defensive team and.....cheating.

I want them to cheat again. Those were the times.

My god this day is horrible, I had a job interview and the guy just forget about the appointment. This sucks so fucking hard.

Did see an insane hot girl at Starbucks though, so that's something. I think.

Does that drawing that depicts Eli about to hand something to Tom Brady and then crushing it while making a really strange looking face still exist? If yes then can someone post it because the timing is so appropriate right now.

I'm really upset right now. Have never been more sad/ angry at something in my life (that I have no impact on really besides death, sickness etc.)....

I dunno what to do anymore. I thought Tom Brady would win. I thought I would be lucky enough to see that. I haven't seen Tom Brady win a SB since I was like 9 or 10. I barely paid attention then. Fuck. I don't know what to do with my life. A lot people say it's just a game, but I feel like it's more than that to me. I will wake up tomorrow and continue my life as normal but boy has my perspective changed. To be the best, it doesn't come easy. I guess growing up around Tommy winning so much, then the amazing 2007 season made me feel like it was just so possible to win. I knew, like on paper Giants should win. They are the Patriots kryptonite. The pass rush for Brady, the the receivers for our shit defense.

Good luck to all the Patriots players. On Brandon Spikes twitter he said he was feeling suicidal. The Pats aren't the giants where they can be barely in contention one moment, and then Super Bowl champs the next. Patriots players need to win every game. And fuck, the most important one they fuck up on. But you could tell in the body language. The Pats were under a lot of pressure. They weren't having fun. The Giants were going out there to have a good time, and of course to win. The Patriots were just going out there to win. They cracked under the pressure. Especially the defense, but even the offense. Eli is so god damn clutch. Welker is the opposite. And Tom Brady is a god damn smart quarterback, but he needs some proper receivers.

Eli Manning has my full respect. He outplayed Brady when it mattered most. Belichick was out coached. Respect to coughlin. Respect to the giants organization. But seriously I fucking hate the Giants. I would kill Eli in real life if I had the chance, even putting my entire life behind bars... I wouldn't actually but I'm that upset.

You should go see a psychiatrist. Your perspective on life has changed over a football game? Wait until some real life changing events happen in your life and see what happens, lol.

Patriots weren't even considered to be a playoff team last season.

Of course. I didn't expect them to do anything. And I wouldn't have minded if the playoffs were made up differently. A loss to the Bengals/Lions/Niners/Texans? Whatever. But it went like this:

Another first round loss? Heartbreak.
Another loss to the Ravens? Heartbreak.
Another SB loss to the Giants? Heartbreak.

So they had no choice but to win every game to not make me feel like shit. ;-)

Lol at people on twitter saying Boston is now choke city, we aren't Cleveland :p

Bleh still a shitty lose but that's football, those fumbles though 0_o

Ocho would have caught that Welker miss ;)

It fucking sucks! Eli fucking Manning is a dreamrobber, he did it to us again!

It sucks so hard that Brady loses his groove evertime the playoffs come. He looked nervous in the second half again, flustered and making dumb decisions and even worse throws. The Defense didn't even play that bad yesterday, but putting Molden on Nicks the entire game is just fucking stupid.

I need a week to process it all and I will never be able to watch highlights from this game.

Let's just hope they have a solid draft this year, they can retain Mark Anderson/Andre Carter and Brian Waters and they fix the rest of the interior O-line (Damn you Mankins).

One day, Ryan Mallet will leads us back to the promised land of Super Bowl victories, cupcakes and rainbows.

Believe my German Patriots brother!

Whooohoooo GO PATS!

Pats had no choice, but to put Molden on Nicks. I don't trust Belichick and his drafts anymore. I still think he is a great coach, but his personnel decisions have been horrible lately. The Pats still has Glass-I. He looked ok in the beginning of the season when he wasn't hurt, and maybe he can develop into a solid corner. I have no idea what you can do with McCourty. How do you fix a player like that? I'm fucking done with Mankins, and his bullshit tough guy act. Get your ass destroyed all game , and still act like your the shit. They should seriously consider trading Tom Brady, and starting over. I love Brady, but if some team gave me a ton of picks I would move him.

I was reading about Eli just now and apparently Cooper Manning had to quit football due to a neck issue :o
I've read about Cooper manning before, thought he was just the random third brother when I saw him in that sportscenter commercial, turns out he was best manning before his neck injury.

Peyton following Cooper, then............Eli D:

Are you a new fan because if this loss is that hard on you than I can't imagine what you would have done in that other game that I will not name.

In sports it happens from time to time where there is this mystical other brother who was better than them all but didn't play. Cooper is one and also in hockey the Sutter brothers had a mystical older brother also who was better than them all but didn't play. It would be interesting if there are any more cases of mystical super good brothers who never play.

Fuck.

I'm still drunk and about to puke.

Give the Giants credit again but Pats had many opportunities to win the game. Thought the defense played as well as could be expected.

Giants got lucky with those fumbles. And that safety call. I can't remember the last time a safety was called like that.

I'm going to go puke now.

Congrats Giants GAF.

Offensive penalties that occur in the endzone are all safeties, its actually fairly common. That was a completely standard call.

For example if it was a holding penalty while the lineman was in the endzone it would also be a safety.

Dude, what does it have to do with you?

I'm a competitive athlete, no where near the level of football professionals, but I can tell you that sports performance is an incredibly personal thing. Most athletes know that in the end, it all comes down to them. They don't share either the grief or the glory with you. And they're big enough boys to take the L , learn from the experience, and regroup for next time (it might be a little different for special teams and bit players who might only have 2 plays in a game -- maybe they feel more outside and it's harder for them to accept the loss).

Learn from Brady, who is going to try to come back with a vengeance. It sounds like you might have unfortunate circumstances in your life, so emulate your models: learn, regroup, and attack.

Trade Brady? I know you guys must be frustrated, but please... Also, it's not the amount of draft picks you guys are struggling with, Belichicks always has plenty of them, it's just like you said, the last few years, your drafts and FA signings weren't good (and you still made it to the SB).

Dude won 2 High School Basketball Championships, TWO.

Sorry to clarify I was saying I thought the intentional grounding wasn't clear cut.

To all the people crying about the Patriots losing: I've been a Lions fan my whole life. One playoff win in my life. Only 0-16 team in NFL history.

Shut up.

Good game, but the Pats' secondary was going to get exposed sooner or later. Too bad it was at the SB.

19 points isn't necessarily exposed but they are dog shit and have been dog shit for years. Mayo is a fucking bust and he is our most high profile draft pick on the defense. This season hurts because it proves that Brady and BB can get some productivity out of scrubs but it is all fake. They are still scrubs and will be for the foreseeable future as I guarantee that this draft will be the same old, same old BB.

LOL, that's a tall order. Their defense has sucked for the last several years. Didn't Belichick used to be a defensive guy? What happened?

Go G MEN!

Deiced to finish my Mock

16. New York Jets- Mark Barron FS/SS- As a Ravens fan ill be the 1st to say Jim Leonard is a very good Safety… But he is now Bob Sanders.

shit draft.

also i bet some pats fans were waiting to bump what i said about their shit team haha...YEAAAA 18-00000

Pats will sign/draft a receiver that can beat the man press on the outside this year guarantee it.

9-0 run right through the playoffs bu-bu-bu the Giants were lucky! Same shit was said in 2008, Giants got all the breaks. No matter though, shit feeels good.

Giants fans are going to be even more insufferable today. Fuuuuuck. Patriots let me down

What a boring game though up until the last 4 minutes. Probably the worst game in 5 years at least

There's nothing in sports I enjoy more than seeing the Patriots lose in the playoffs. My coworker's husband has been working as a photographer at the Pats' hotel all week; I'm hoping he got some good shots last night of Brady being despondent.

Hahahahaha

We will resign Ocho and draft a project WR in the 3rd who will bust like it's nobody's business.

*Puts sunglasses on*

YEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Pats will draft a TE in this draft I can feel it. Going in with low expectations this draft. every year I look up all the best players, and dream about the Pats trading up to grab them. This year I'm not looking at any players, and I will watch the draft expecting the worst.

And a runningback in the first! Hell let's go crazy, maybe they pick up another corner made of glass!

Bill will trade away both picks and draft a kicker to convert into a RB.

You don't remember what it's like when the Patriots win do you?

Who will somehow rush for 1000 yards next season....

Oh and he'll be scrappy and white. Then traded to another team for a 2nd rounder where that guy will then do absolutely nothing of note.
