Best new series from this generation hands down.
As long as we exclude Gears of War and Uncharted and Mass Effect.

Still haven't played it unfortunately and I'm reluctant to buy it on ios
you never played valkyria chronicles
edit: i never played the psp spinoffs
edit 2: i want the skies team to make something for consoles again

It does however open up many interesting gameplay opportunities. Even rail shooters could be revitalized with this. Though the best example I can think of is with Fatal Frame/Project Zero where you control a camera in interesting ways, not previously possible without the Wii U remote.
if ghost trick was a series, there'd be more than one entry, wouldn't there? otherwise i would have totally mentioned mirror's edge. that thing is the best part of this generation.
The first of these sessions is "Thinking in 3D: The Development of Super Mario 3D Land." The talk will detail how the development of the hit 3DS title came to be, as well as teach developers how to properly use the 3DS's 3D capabilities as well as the difference between 2D and 3D gameplay. The talk will be given by game director Koichi Hayashida on Wednesday, March 7 from 3:30 - 4:30 in Room 132, North Hall.
The other discussion Nintendo will be participating in is "Existential Crisis: Do We Really Need AI?", a panel about the importance of AI in video games. While not specifically Nintendo-centric, Steve Rabin, Principal Software Engineer for Nintendo of America, will take part of the presentation. Rabin is an AI veteran who has worked on DS, Wii, 3DS, and Wii U development tools. The panel will happen on Tuesday, March 6 from 5:05 - 5:30 in Room 2006, West Hall.

Makes sense
Looks legit to me, but I got the one that came with SS, so I can't say for sure. You could probably contact Nintendo customer support about it.I really don't know where to ask this, but this is the coolest and most active Nintendo thread here, and I don't really want to make a thread for this so bear with me, please.
Is there any way to know if my Wii Remote+ is a counterfeit model? I was pretty sure it was an original one but I have my doubts now. I bought Red Steel 2 and the speaker makes a nonstop buzz sound, even if I lower the volume completely. A bit of googling seems to indicate that it's because it isn't an original controller but I didn't find many similar cases. This is the only game where this happens, I bought this remote a month ago with Skyward Sword and WiiSports Resort. Now, the remote works well, aside for this issue on Red Steel 2 but I'll be pretty pissed if this isn't an original one as I got this from a retailer I've been buying from for a long time. The box says it comes with 2 AA batteries and it didn't come, and now that I think about it, it seems very plasticky, but maybe it's me being paranoid.
Here's a couple of pics with it and the box, can't take more right now, anything I should be looking for?

Your "Home" button is blue instead of white, unfortunately. Looks like a fake.I really don't know where to ask this, but this is the coolest and most active Nintendo thread here, and I don't really want to make a thread for this so bear with me, please.

Too short of a game if you ask me. Beat it in 4 and half hours.

Ghost Trick was the actual answer.
Guess which IP between NMH and Ghost Trick WON'T come back, next-gen.
Yup, one of the first things I thought of when seeing the U controller was using it as a Camera Obscura. And having a Pip-Boy in the palm of your hands would also be full of Instant Win with a large topping of Awesome Sauce.
And I think it's about bloomin time that Nintendo came up with an actual name for the U controller too.

Pokemon Snap 2!! Its made for that controller and that panoramic idea

Grasshopper seems to be unaffected by sales flops while Capcom is Capcom.
How does Grasshopper sustain itself with so many flops like NMH and SotD? Not saying they're bad games but they hardly lit up the charts. Lollipop Chainsaw looks to be another bomba as well.

NMH has been replaced by Lollipop Chainsaw.
They don't set their budget phaser to "stupid".
edit: NMH sold perhaps 400000 copies. At an ASP of $30, that'd be twelve million dollars gross. Maybe they get a million of that. Is it crazy to think they might be able to make a game for substantially less than a million dollars?
Because
A) NMH wasn't a flop in the perspective of the budget.
B) They work with publishers to pay them regardless of sales landmarks. So they won't become super-rich if they get a hit, but they put food on the table.
C) Grasshopper works on a lot more projects than you would think. Fatal Frame IV, for example.
Didn't Suda kind of confirm the plan to develop a No More Heroes 3 for Wii U already? I can remember an interview where he hinted at it.
EDIT:
Yeah, found it and corrected my statement

But NMH should be the Grasshopper's most profitable (own) game/IP or did I miss some others? Plus it seems like he asks the PR girl in the video for permission to talk about it. Some positive signs for me. Though I could live without a NMH3, because NMH2 ended it pretty well.Suda says a lot of things. Marvelous has not had much luck with the last three games and I doubt Ubisoft is eager to bankroll a new one.
It is amazing that Grasshopper Manufacture is still around especially after the bad sales of Shadows of the Damned. It's a shame that Suda 51's been cursed with poor publishing partners like EA and Ubisoft.
I was having a similar discussion with brain_stew several months ago (yes, the gpu can, and most likely does, keep other things in there besides fb), until he reminded me there was the uPad screen to be serviced (1.5MB minimum). So yeah, there's a sufficient number of 'distractors' that would hamper 2xMSAA@1080p.Considering the total 1T-SRAM in GameCube/Wii is 27 MB (24+3), here are some (baseless) possibilities concerning the 32 MB eDRAM rumor:
- 32 MB of new eDRAM on top of 3 MB 1T-SRAM
- 24 MB eDRAM + 8 MB 1T-SRAM (would still do 1080p in a single pass)
- simply a single 32 MB 1T-SRAM chip
- hax
BTW I've been wondering, is there something stopping 1080p with 2xMSAA being done in a single pass with 32 MB eDRAM? It should just fit into 32 MB with 368 KB left (assuming I'm calculating it properly). Is more space leftover required for some sort of overhead?

Ubisoft didn't fund the production of any of those games...

I didn't say they did?
I just said they would not be bankrolling a new one.
That's an option. It does take an extra fb clear but given the small size of the uPad fb that should not be a problem. What might be a problem is the fact you'd have to wait for the main fb to get resolved to main ram, before you can start with the small fb. Same with the next frame in the main fb. With partitioning you don't need that. Why would you want to have 2 fbs? If there's no special coherence logic implemented in the gpu there's no need for a second fb. Simply render one after another. It is easier that way, instead of splitting the eram raise the fill rate.
