I should have been born in Canada, I'm getting too desperate and I still have to wait three more weeks, since Amazon doesn't offer first day shipping in Puerto Rico.

Every game seems to get released early.

Geez, why is the game box so friggin huge?

I picked up Uncharted today, Wipeout & Hot Shots are shipping from Amazon tonight. It's going to be a long wait until the 22nd. Sony should just cave and let places start selling them. I want mine now.

The cases are much bigger than they need to be, but it's probably for retail presence more than anything. It's a shame, I love having game boxes, I imagine a lot of PSV games I'll be buying on PSN.

Skinomi TechSkin - Screen Protector Shield for Sony Playstation PSP Vita

Just ordered mine. I talked to a customer service rep from the company and they guaranteed me it will be here before next Wednesday

Normally a 24.99 dollar value, 6.95 on Amazon.

Product Description

Compatible with Sony Playstation PSP Vita
Virtually indestructible film with unmatched "invisible" screen clarity
Made from the same film material used to protect military aircraft
Smooth, non-sticky surface with patented layer of UV protection to prevent "yellowing"
Manufacturer Lifetime Replacements

In the comments, it says it comes with some things like some solution, the cloth, and a smoothing tool. I can't get the Hori one for a decent price but this looks just as good.

And does anyone have the RSS feed to keep track of g35twinturbo's flip flops?

In case some missed.

why should they cave? they'll piss off everyone who bought the first edition bundle.

So Uncharted is pretty neat, but the sub-qHD is putting a damper on my "wow" factor with the vita.

Which games out there are looking great and are running at native res?

Need some Ninja Gaiden impressions.

What's the framerate? Solid? Resolution? Gameplay modes? Content? Aaaaah! Filesize?

Hey does anyone know what the Vita's screen (or rather the overlay) is made out of? Most capacitive touch screens for phones are glass so I was kind of hoping Vita was too as it would cut down on those ugly micro surface scratches. That said I am assuming its plastic, which if so is it at least scratch proof?

I can confirm that

Little Big Planet
Pursuit Force
Capcom Classic Collection Reloaded
Killzone Liberation
Ratchet and Clank

All seem to transfer ok from a PS3. I am still copying the games over but they should work...

(edit: sorry, no SOCOM actually)

I'm seriously considering changing to the First Edition Bundle because I'm getting impatient. Also the more I think about it, every game I plan on getting I'm going to buy the physical copy and I don't see PSN games like Super Stardust or Escape Plan filling up a 4 gig card anytime soon. What to do, what to do?

I'm right there with you, and I ended up making the switch. I am also leaving out of town for a few days w/ my job next Thursday, so it justified the cost for me.

I have a feeling a lot of people will be hitting that impulse now button around the 15th and getting it early. I still say Sony should have put an 8GB card w/ the FEB.

Bought, thanks! now if only I could find a good protector for the back touchpad...

I wanted that other one posted the other day but they couldn't guarantee me it showing up before the FEB next Wednesday. It ships from the UK so I really couldn't take the change. In all truth, I only want to protect the screen anyways.

On the site they have a demo video showing how to put it on an iphone but the same basically applies to the Vita. I'm sure they will have a Vita one when it launches or at some point after.

This is Sony, it's plastic. I read a blog that someone who owned the Vita for a month wrote and he said there were no scratches on the screen but there were on the back touchpad. The screen isn't scratch proof but maybe resistant?

It is plastic and looking at the bestbuy demo unit it scratches quite easily

Does the standalone PS Vita Wifi include a memory card?

If not than maybe it's best just to get the 3G/Wifi bundle. Even though I'll probably never use the 3G, it looks like the best value.

Went to add golden abyss to my amazon FEB order and noticed it said I would get it on sat. So I checked my wipeout and hotshots order and they still say the 15th so I canx them and reordered them along with the sony screen protector. So now I will get everything except for the vita on sat.

Amazon change the shipping for the damn vita.

I just made the switch too. My brain tells me that the 3g/Wifi Launch Bundle is the "better deal", but my heart says I really want a Vita in my hands as soon as possible. Maybe I'll come to find that the 4 gb card isn't big enough, but I don't plan on carrying any music on my Vita since I have it all in my pocket on my iPhone anyways. I also don't see PSN games filling it up in the near future.

sony is a customer of gorilla glass.

I just came back from "Media Markt". The biggest hardware and software store in The Netherlands. I've played a couple of demo's on the PS Vita. Some impressions.

- That 5'' OLED screen is very sharp and has really vibrant colors! The size is perfect for a handheld!
- Analog sticks are smaller than it thought it would be. It takes time to get used to.
- D-pad is a huge improvement over the PSP one! And yes, even better than on the DualShock (!) It's now actually a real D-pad... ;)
- Buttons are also very small, just as small as on the DS Lite (i think). But it's not a problem, they feel good.
- Shoulder buttons have a more analog feeling to it. I like it!

Wipeout 2048
It blew me away!! Wow, this game. THIS GAME! Graphics are unbelievable, it looks better than Wipeout HD on PS3! Trust me! There is much more detail and particle effects on the screen and the sense of speed is perfect!
I can tell the game is running on 30 fps but it didn't bother me. Loading times were not that great... But there is patch coming out on 22 Februari that will improve loading times.

- Virtua Tennis 4
Very nice looking game, animations were great. Gameplay was smooth. Will buy this game when it is discounted.

- Fifa 12
This was dissapointing. Gameplay is not as smooth as the console version. I noticed framedrops which is killing for a soccer game. Graphics were ok but i expected better, on YouTube it looked awesome...

- Gravity Rush
This game has a beautiful art style! Gameplay is vey original and feels smooth. Animations and hair physics were impressive!

The PS Vita is now a day one purchase for me! I will buy the Wi-Fi version along with Wipeout 2048 and Uncharted: Golden Abyss.
I hope the PS Vita is going to be a huge succes in the end... This handheld is too fucking nice to be a failure!

Fuck. Guess I am not going to play it until my Hori protector arrives, thanks for telling me. Shame its not glass but I don't think that has anything to do with Sony, more to do with it being a game console....how I long for a day when consoles are given the same quality materials as other high end electronics.

I was kidding lol I just meant that Sony is trying to make the Vita as cheap as possible to be competitive.

I'm hoping it's Super Stardust Delta or Escape Plan.

Did I miss something, whats this about a free PSN game? Also awesome avatar, great show, funny episode.

if anyone ever questions whether or not a device has gorilla glass, they should try and see what the company's stance on screen protectors are. apple doesn't even sell any screen protectors for iphones in their stores anymore, and employees tell customers they don't need them. sony makes its own official screen protector for vita.

Still getting FEB, plan on selling my 4gb memory card and Little Deviants on the same day it arrives. Im just waiting for Amazon to charge me come monday night. I can't wait, soon to be 5 days left :D

We now know Little Deviants FEB is boxed.

The question is can it be re-sold? Does it have one of those not for resale stickers on it?

I'd hop on the FEB train if I could sell Little Deviants and the 4GB card.
