Nice! I only have a 60GB PS3 which is almost full already. Having to download everything I delete every time I make some room on the memory card would be a pain.

Argh, Amazon! I love how I've had these vita items pre ordered for a month with release date shipping and instead of canceling it and redoing it while it showed in stock it went from shipping soon to this morning showing not shipped yet. Argh!

For those that are buying screen protectors, did you go with the hori brand or the Sony one? I noticed the image of the hori one on Amazon shows that it covers the whole front and not just the screen, but the Sony one gives you two screen protectors. I am leaning towards the hori one, but wanted to see what everyone else is getting.

I got the Sony one from Japan
It was easy to apply - no bubbles and covers the screen, can't see the need to cover the rest (never did with my psp or pspgo - just the screen)

I'm thinking that 16GB allows me to have at least 5 games comfortably with me at any time, I don't probably ever have more games in rotation than that. Typically 2-3 hot new titles and a 1-2 evergreens.

Yeah. Games like Gravity Rush are pretty small, around 1.3GB so you can squeeze in plenty.

And even titles like Stardust are only a few hundred mb too. I think 16gb will be worth while for the first year or so. Really depends on how dedicated you would be to purchasing full titles as downloads over retail.

Games that suit only one play through would probably be best as retail titles so you can trade them in imo.

I have to admit, although I've played it already, I'm really pumped to have Rayman Origins on the go. The game is very well suited to mobile play and I think it will look absolutely stunning on an OLED screen. Could be one of the most impressive examples of a mobile platform game yet.

There are really a lot of truly incredible games hitting at launch.

I added Rayman to my order last night. Never played Rayman before (any of them) but really excited to see this one in action on that screen.

Concerning FIFA 12 and the bad impression that the guy here had at local store (slowdowns, average graphics,...)

I've found this new video.

FIFA 12 PS Vita unboxing and gameplay

The camera is close to the oled screen and you can see details.

I don't see slowdowns at all and the graphics look so beatiful I could cry.
It seems something like a dream comes true to my soccer fan eyes.

What's wrong guys?
Am I missing something?

Another day, another time to talk myself out of the FEB.

No! I don't need it! I can wait!

I'm in the same boat. ;)
I pre-ordered the wifi only edition at Best Buy yesterday, and now after seeing the FEB case I want the FEB. although I just ordered a 16gb card from Amazon. Decisions!

Man, I need to watch myself. I already kinda went back and forth and then eventually preordered the system with Uncharted, Wipeout, and Hot Shots Golf.

But now I want Lumines, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and Rayman.

And Gravity Rush (obviously!) when it comes out.

Can them and change then!

I bought the Hori one which coincidentally has just arrived from Amazon.co.uk which I can confirm are GLOSS. You can also see what the protector will cover.

I was 90% sure this was the case.

They sell two versions of this protector. One is gloss (which comes in blue packagin as is shown on Amazon and your picture), and the other is matte (which comes in red packaging). There is a sight selling the matte one, but I can't remember where? I think play-asia. It's like $20 there for either version though.

Anyone knows how it will be possible to transfer PSP saved games on PSV? I want to continue my Persona 3 and FF4C games on the PSV.

This is neat. Dunno if new threadworthy.

We’ve spent a lot of time talking about the range of amazing games that PS Vita has to offer here on PlayStation.Blog, but you may not know about the great range of Discovery Apps also coming to the system. They are free to download from PlayStation Store and are designed to showcase the unique features of PS Vita through innovative interactive experiences.

Today we want to introduce you to the first two Discovery Apps: Frobisher Says and t@g.

Re. Frobisher Says:

There are over 50 games, each with a unique art style – we worked with a large and diverse art team from all kinds of backgrounds, from comic books to pixel art, collage to medical illustration – so that as the games change, the art does too, spiraling players down into Frobisher’s crazy, confusing world.

Frobisher Says is available for free as a pre-order incentive at the launch of PS Vita on 22 February. It will be available to download for free to all PS Vita owners in May 2012.

Re. t@g

t@g will be available to download for free from PlayStation Store in May 2012; it utilises GPS functionality and is therefore only compatible with the 3G model of PS Vita.

When I get my WiFi Vita, is there any benefit of linking my PSN account from my PlayStation 3 if I don't own it any more or it wil be better to create a new account just for the Vita?

If you have bought any PS1/PSP games or value trophies then you'd be as well to keep using the current one. No "linking" involved, it's just the same account.

SCEE has teased that they have more 'cool' location-based software in the works.

I'm glad of my 'just-in-case' 3G preorder :P

Same here, I didn't want the 3G version but....for $20 more than the wifi+8gb card, it gives me a "just in case" option.

Also, I know this is a silly question but: My phone is currently from Sprint, meaning I'm not with AT&T, do I have to go directly to AT&T to "Activate" the vita or can it be done through the Vita itself? I'm really confused as to how it works

Well its pretty difficult to tell how a game performs from a youtube video (plus that guy did say it also looked awesome on yt)

cant wait for this, i think im going to have to hold out until end of March though, as much as that will kill me. Going to New York in March so need the cash, but chances are i'll pick it up out there anyway. Will miss the Pre-Order Incentives :/

Just to check i've understood this right... if i buy it in USA and bring it back and link it with my EU account, i can still download things from the EU store just fine as its account based rather than region locked on the system itself yeah?

Amazon.co.uk have dropped the price of the Wifi to £215 and the 3G to £265.

That means for £230 you can get the Wifi, an 8gb card and one of the 5 games. Total saving of £55.

The 3G has been at that price since at least Monday when I ordered the 3G bundle.

EDIT: My bad, it's down £5. :)

Oh really? Tell me more...
The GPS is a hardware chip that's completely independent of the 3G functionality.

Has anyone who ordered accessories from amazon actually had them ship? I know mine said shipping soon but reverted back. Does amazon think there is a street date for accessories?

GPS is supposedly independent of a 3G data connection, but an app like t@g might also need a data connection. Or not, if there's a kind of 'offline' play mode and has enough area/map data stored locally to work with.

Oh really? Tell me more...

GPS is a chip that triangulates your location based on satellites.
3G is data

These two things do go hand-in-hand as when you're using data, you're connected to a cell tower, and that can help you get a lock on your location faster since the satellites know whereabout to look for you, but 3G is not necessary for GPS to function.

example:

Car GPS unit don't have data plans but can get your location just fine.

Can't seem to find Escape Plan in the US store. You sure it's up?

Anyone know when Twitter and other apps that were announced will be available?

Is it possible to play any type of genre in an online match via 3G? Obviously shooters and fighting games are out of the question, but what about turn based strategy games? card games? mini-games?

Well its pretty difficult to tell how a game performs from a youtube video (plus that guy did say it also looked awesome on yt)

THe guy that posted the Fifa 12 video replied to me:

1. There is barely any slowdown mate, maybe just a tiny bit when all players are in the box but not noticeable. Crowd does not move btw, they are stiff cutouts
2. The graphics are incredible, being able to take the full fledged fifa with you wherever you go is just something to be extremely happy about
3. It feels really great, I cannot explain it, it just feels so good playing this game. I will make more videos when I have time, thanks for the questions!
