We still doing this?

All-Time Favorite: John Randle (I initially typed Cris Carter but they are so damn close I ended up going with the crazy train)

Current Favorite: Percy Harvin

Yes, we are still doing that.

I would have expected Peterson as current player, any reason the mediocre Percy Harvin got the nod?

So he was fatman's QB coach?

Guess that explains why he's the running back coach now (replacing Edgar Bennett? or some other guy?)

McFadden was making more than Battle, no? And those big names won't leave they will be re-structured. If anyone is leaving it's going to be either Ward,Foote, Farrior,Smith, Hampton.

You're right, McFadden made more.

Foote will be cut. Smith will likely retire, hampton is a weird case. He's still got it, but he's coming off of an ACL injury and might not even be ready opening day.

As for Ward, i read somewhere that it might actually be cheaper to keep him for one more year at the vet minimum, so who knows.

Jerry Fontenot was RB coach. Bennett is WR's coach. It was bizarre when it happened last off-season, and it's just asa bizarre today...

With the addition of Van Pelt and the shuffling of McAdoo and Fontenot, McCarthy's offensive staff will feature a former QB (Van Pelt) as RBs coach, a former TE's coach (McAdoo) as QBs coach, a former OL (Fontenot) as TEs coach and a former RB (Edgar Bennett) as WRs coach.

JPP bowed out of the TNA Impact appearance. Stated he preferred to rest after the SB. In his place? Brandon Jacobs will now appear on TNA Impact:

Favorite Current Player: Carson Palmer, gift that gave and will keep on giving.

Favorite Past Player: Steve Atwater, killed Okoye's career with a single blow. He was a damn good safety, and always blasted guys. Loved it when he would come up for a blitz.

Mediocre is incredibly harsh. He is an exceptional slot receiver on a team with nobody else to go over him. I like the guy because he is multifaceted and an incredible athlete.

350 Rushing Yards, 87 Receptions, 967 Receiving Yards. Damn impressive when you consider what he's been working with at QB. Then throw in the returning abilities and you have something special (He only returned 16 Kickoffs this year because they didnt want to kill him. He should have had 2 TD's but instead he has one and the longest return to not score in history).

Dont get me wrong. I like peterson too, everyone does. I just really like Harvin.

Not mediocre. No.

He's fragile and he sucks. He has yards because the Vikings are so unbelievably atrocious they would rather give him the ball when they are getting blown out than the single talented player on the roster, Jared Allen.

Maybe we can re-structure Hampton deal as well, i dunno.

Current Favorite (on the Panthers):Steve Smith
All-Time Favorite Panther: Wesley Walls/Kris Jenkins/Mike Minter

Current Fave (on another team):Darelle Revis
Favorite that I was actually alive to see myself: Brett
All-Time Favorite: Barry Sanders

I'd really not enjoy playing Finley and Skankho (I can't spell his name so I insulted him, ha!) twice a year.

You're insane. Every team in football would make that trade in less than a heartbeat.

I got that Viking sense telling me he's biding his time before he pulls a Cook related domestic.

Edit: If only I got the personnel job when they started moving the management around.

I really like Atwater. When you think of it, the Broncos have a long history of great Safetys. It would have been even better if we would have drafted Ed Reed instead of Lelie.

Any updates on the Vikings' stadium issues?

I heard on the radio that their lease to the Metrodome is up and Goodell needs to know by Wednesday where they'll be playing this year. Is there a vote for a new stadium going on?

Also:

All time Giant - Strahan
All time Non-Giant - Primetime
Current Giant - Elisha and Nicks

(Eli will be my all time favorite by the end of his career, I'd put him now, but I love that gapped toofed fool too)

Heh, seriously? Dude was sitting on his couch for half the season and then he comes in and plays pretty damn good considering the circumstances, and that was with Mcfadden out for the season and Ford missing most of the games. Our defense is what killed us.

Edit: guess you could make a case for the lost draft picks, but meh. It's early for me.

Not quite. They need to tell Goodell by Wednesday if they are going to relocate. If not, they are stuck in the Metrodome another year.

Uh, he threw 16 interceptions in 10 games man. A whopping 5% of his passes were picked off! He didn't play well no matter what excuses you want to dream up for him.

The stadium is going to be built, they just need to decide on the location. The stall right now is that the Vikings want a new spot while the state wants them to build on the Metrodome's old foundation. This is an issue because the location kinda sucks and it would mean that the Vikings would have to play at TCF for up to 3 years.

I think that would be kinda cool but the problem is that it will cost a ton of money to play three seasons there.

Current favorite: Antonio Gates

Favorite past player: Ladainian Tomlinson in his prime (yeah yeah he's still in the league but he ain't what he used to be). Other than him, since I lived in the Bay Area for a couple years, I liked watching Merton Hanks and his neck.

It sounds like Dayton has all but given up on getting it done this year. It'll be interesting to see it become an election issue. For your sake, I hope the legislature doesn't approve the theft.

He wasn't exactly "off the couch". He was training and keeping in shape, working out with his boy Hoosh. Before that, he had been in the NFL for EIGHT years, so it really isn't an excuse to play as poorly as he did. "Pretty Damn Good" was definitely not Carson Palmer last year.

DMC being injured would suck if you didn't have Bush. Your running game is not what hurt you, even with DMC you probably win the same number of games.

What really hurt was Jason Campbell getting injured. He cost you guys stability at the QB spot and essentially draft picks.

Explanation, not excuses. The dude had a baptism by fire, new system, new inexperienced receivers, sitting on couch for half the year. Come on.

Bush is garbage. Averaged 3.8 ypc and never broke anything over 10 yards (maybe twice.)

Pretty damn good may have been a bad choice of words.

Also our offense managed to score (most of the time, think we ranked 15th) our defense is what lost games for us.

Well, even before he "retired" he wasn't much of a QB. He has been pretty mediocre in his career, with a few good season sprinkled in (which i think were '05 and '06). Until he proves he is consistent, he will be mediocre forever

I realize that. Never claimed he was an "elite." Just responding to a Broncos fan, since we will sweep them next year, thanks in large part to Palmer.

I would. Using traffic as an excuse to leave early and arrive late is terrible.

The initial comment was that the Vikings fans show up late and leave early.

Maybe this year, yeah for sure, but its a bit of an exaggeration. I don't know if you two live in the twin cities but if you get one of those Sundays where there are multiple sporting events or there is random other stuff going on it is seriously hell. Our infrastructure is shit.

But whatever. Minnesota does have a ton of fairweathers but its a lot better than some places.
