This staggered launch is a joke. I hate you so much Sony. I don't want to wait until the 22nd. I really hope street date for the regular Vita gets ignored.

Mail man just dropped off 2 of my 3 pre-orders right now. I have to wait until tomorrow before I can pick up my Vita bundle. :(

The current auction ending next is at $220 US.

That's never gonna sell though.

The highest price I saw in recently completed items, that actually sold, was $125. With eBay fees that's not even enough to make a reasonable profit. They'd have to be selling for at leat $140 or so to make it worth anyone's time.

Several have sold for $140-$150.

Hell yeah oreder just switched to "shipping soon" from Amazon. Im so ptitful I opened up wipeout on sun, hotshots on mon and uncharted today just so I can have something to open everyday until wednesday.

On another note my heart sunk when I opened uncharted and the only thing in there was the card. People complain about the online pass but at least there was something in those other boxes besides the card.

Sony you need to do like microsoft does with the 360 and give people a free week or month "data connect" when they buy a new retail game so they can be excited about something when they open those boxes.

Yeah, I'm surprised they don't use that space to advertise for other shit. You know, like their other games, or even telling them about the 3G stuff.

Very cheap.

Apparently in the Japanese one their was an insert advertising the previous Uncharted games. That would be a good idea.

I wish there were physical manuals.
The livearea manuals are okay, but when there are a lot of pages, it's annoying to flip through them all one at a time to find what you want. Is there a "Go To Page" feature I'm just not seeing?

Yeah, that is disappointing. At least include an insert with a graphic on it or something.

Still a bit confused about something.

So Patapon 3 isn't on the official OR unofficial list of PS Vita Compatible PSP Games. And apparently it isn't on the PSN Store for Vita, yet it is on the PSN Store on PS3 under the PSP games section.

My question is do ALL PSP games work on PS Vita, you just have to know where to find them (ie if it's not on the Vita store and it is on PS3 store then transfer it)? Or does it have to officially compatible for the game to work on Vita.

I just want Patapon 3 since I sold my PSP but I need to know before shelling out $20 (I think it is) for it. There are other PSP games that aren't on any official or unofficial lists that I'd also buy from the PS3 store if so.

Not all games work, but a lot that aren't on the list do work. It's just a matter of transferring them from PS3 to Vita.

What exactly is wrong with it?

The point of the ad is 3G gaming. Isn't 3G gaming extremely limited on the Vita? And please point me to the data that shows people are desperate for some 3G gaming outside of Words With Friends. Not impressed whatsoever with any of Sony's ads for the Vita. Show the games. Show how the device is superior to the 3DS and smartphones. 3G gaming is not the strong point of the Vita. It's one of its weakest features.

I cant see the adds on my phone rite now.

Is the US ad the one with baseball game and EU ad the one with COD looking thing with a old man from the beach?

I’ve been thinking if I’m going to call in sick tomorrow but there are meetings that I need to attend. So my plan is to tell my boss that there’s a delivery that I have to sign for that will arrive to my house sometime around 1 (my Amazon deliveries always arrive between 1:30 and 2:00). That should give me enough time with my precious.

I especially like the press release

"We're thrilled to have Mutant Blobs Attack as one of the first PlayStation®Vita downloadable titles, and for us to have hit our day-one launch goal," said Ryan MacLean, CEO of DrinkBox Studios. "Everyone at DrinkBox Studios is super happy with the end product and we decided to sell it for only $7.99. It's a crazy low price point. Insanely low. I'm insane. HUUAGGGGH Backflip!"

"We're also going to start selling the original About a Blob for $7.99 and a new bundle pack with About a Blob and bunch of DLC for $9.99. I'm crazy for setting these prices, but you'd be crazier for not taking advantage of them. Don't be like me."

Awesome press releases make me purchase things. I will buy this day 1.

UPS deliveries are basically the last on their route. 7pm door bell FTW

I think this is pretty good, as part of a campaign it does what it is supposed to do really well.

It seems more relevant and a wee bit more tangible than the branding ad, but not distinct or memorable enough. Didn't really create any urgency/desire for leaderboard anywhere or 3G gaming. People already do it for social games, and the whole social angle is missing in the video. Ad appears pretty lonely and uninspiring.

Given that it launches on Valentine's Day, it might have shown a little competition/co-op to beat partners or other couples. There is also no URL or other call for action to complete the loop. Would be great if there's this one world map on the web to show all Vita gamers anonymously and their collective score posting. There are a lot of things they can do to spice up the experience. If they tap on existing social networks and PS3 userbase (like Home), it should be more fun. And that is the whole point IMHO.

No, this is the guy taking a bus, going around town, worrying about his leaderboard position.

Misleading? Yes. False? Nope.

Thats advertising for you though...

The bigger issue though isn't that it's misleading, it's that they're pushing the most stupid aspect of the Vita to sell it. "Hey 20 year olds, you're all coveting 4G phones and tablets, but here's a 3G dedicated gaming handheld...that can't really play games or download games over 3g."

Show the games. Put the awesome display front and center. Point out how much it can do that the competition can't. Show some poor fool trying to control an arcadey game on glass, and then show someone playing the Vita with buttons. The competition did 3G years ago. The more I see from Sony, the less confused I am about how they continue to lose so much money and marketshare.
