I've said it before I'll say it again, I really love your jokes.
I'm convinced Apple is run by scumbags.
It seems that Apple don't lose any opportunity to remind us that they're the most evil and terrible of the current international corporations. Their greed knows not bounds, they're absolutely despicable.
I liked Apple products at one point, but now, every time I see them suing somebody about some stupid patent, I remind myself to avoid them at any cost. Not that other corporations aren't almost as bad, but it's hard to reach Apple's level of wickedness. They make Microsoft seem like panda bears made of caramel FFS.
Of everything Apple have done this is what tipped you off?
Did you realize that Halliburton is made of sociopathic douchebags when you met one at a restaurant and the guy laughed too loudly?
Dave, Apple haters just want to stupidly, blindly hate in peace without you (or your Brigade's) logic or reason or discussion. Have a heart you cold blooded monster!
Where did I say that this was what tipped me off?
So your point was?

Apple sucks.
I am all for protecting rights on actual novel ideas - the idea is to foster innovation, not crush it. Apple suing a company filing for bankrupcy which is not affecting their products marketability is just completely against the intent.
At some point they might just push the system to the breaking point and cause a reboot in this whole area of patent law (should happen anyway).

You're funny, you draw a line in the sand and you claim that everyone wet on one side is bad and the other side that is wet is basically a good person.

People who are pretending Apple is somehow worse than the competition when it comes to patents is plain wrong. Simple as that, fanboyishly dead wrong.
Do any of them realize that Kodak is sueing Apple as well? Not only that but a patent suit! And they filed it first! I bet not.
So glad I've never bought an Apple product, and never will. Fuck this shit.
While I agree with your and Dave's posts about this, I'd have to think you guys are tired of repeating the same things in all these threads. Most people will never admit they're wrong, especially on the interwebs so why not just let them have their uninformed, wrong opinion? I mean dude, I'm tired just READING all your posts, I can't imagine actually typing them up.

Regardless of their bullying, Apple still makes benchmark products.Makes me feel good that I've never owned an apple product.

Because for some strange reason the person who posted a topic deemed that not important enough to post when it happened. But when Apple does it it's time to start beating them up for being the evil empire suing everybody.
I don't know if Dave wants people calling him 'wet', no matter how much you like his jokes. I am intrigued by your sand drawing though. I hope the beach is nice.

So to summarize:

It's more that it makes for fucking boring conversation.
OP: "Hey! Look at this bad thing that Apple did!"
*insert 12 posts of random, poorly phrased criticism*
Sensible Poster: "Well, actually, it's a little more complicated than that....(gives explanation)"
*20 more posts of criticism mixed with 5 people trying to draw attention to the facts of the matter*
These topics are all the same. People don't want discussion, they want to validate their hatred of Apple in an echo-chamber.
I'm with you that the thread title and the OP should mention that it's a countersuit.
I'm against you when you make a generalisation that basically skew the discussion to a us "Apple fanboys" vs them "Apple haters".
If I want fanboys/anti fanboys drivel I go to gamefaqs.

You forgot the ever-present proclamations from people that probably don't like Apple and don't own Apple products in the first place that "This is the last straw...I'm never buying another Apple product again!"
It shouldn't be that way. It's so childish that is that way. I like reading and posting about Metro related Win8 news, posting about the Transformer in the Asus thread etc even though I prefer Apple. But those aren't topics made only to attack one company, even if the attack isn't exactly true.
What do you expect when the topic itself is one big blatant call to arms for those who dislike Apple to come and kick the evil empire with a blatantly misleading title and news piece? It was a Apple hater vs. Apple fan hit piece the minute he typed in the overly misleading and false topic title.

I don't care. Somehow Apple is worse for doing what the rest is also doing, but in a more evil way. Their greed and wickedness is up there with Monsanto. I bet their suits play golf and drink soft drinkstogether. They probably produce those pesky iPhones in some secret base at a hollowed-up volcano.made of run-over-and-then-left-behind Chinese children blood
THEY'RE THE EVIL. J/K.
I'm joking FFS, and the first post was a joke as well. To the creepy Apple fanboys: I didn't exaggerate the irony enough before. I hope this one makes it clear
Are plain wrong, are
Why do I get the impression you were never going to buy an Apple product and that these patent lawsuits never actually changed anything?
Well we have to, because there are crazy anti-Apple fanboys like these:
It's snowing actually.....
The point is more that you should refrain from broad generalisation about logic and all that when both sides look equally silly from an external pov.
I'm totally wet. I think I might run up & down the beach, kicking castles over.
I've actually wanted to buy an Ipad. Never a Mac, way too expensive for me.
But just on principle I can't buy anything from a company that acts like this, like they own every patent imaginable.
What am I fanboy of?
On a related note, it's still kinda surreal to see Kodak going under. I know they haven't been really relevant in a long time, but once they were the 'name' when it came to film/photography. As an older guy it's strange to see though understandable now.
an external pov would notice that these threads go to shit and limit discussion for one reason primarily (this one starting from the OP!) yet that isn't the target of your ire. I blame the snow. Who could enjoy a beach or draw in the sand with that? pfft.
I've been informed it's cold and snowing, Dave. No castles. Sorry.
So only apple acts like this? They were sued by kodak. This is a counter suit. Samsung and the rest sue about patents just as much as Apple. It's just they aren't posted about at GAF. I am going to assume you use linux then, because Microsoft endlessly sues over patents like Apple.
You can't expect me to follow everything here, I even missed the |OT| for my country national election!
And I love snow actually...if not for the cold though...
He can still kick some snowmen though
I can't talk for others, but I use linux.on my netbook, my PC is all about Windows 7 ::
There's some graph on the interwebs about lawsuiting within the mobile phone industry, and if my memory serves well the champion of the lawsuiting Olympics in recent years was Nokia, and the company who received most lawsuits was... Apple I believe. Not trying to be the devil's advocate here, but... things aren't B&W.

Patent lawsuiting in mobile industry (The Guardian)
That's it, I'm trashing away my iphone and mbp and trading them for the better, all-loving philanthropic alternatives.
Sadly there are posts in this topic that are completely serious yet far more over the top than your sarcastic reply.
You know when someone loses an argument when they have to resort to correcting grammar.
I love their products but this kind of stuff really rubs me the wrong way.
With Kodak having filed last-minute patent lawsuits against Apple and HTC as it was heading into bankruptcy last month
WSJ said:NEW YORK—A judge Thursday said Apple Inc. couldn't pursue patent infringement litigation against Eastman Kodak Co. over a patent the computer giant fears might be sold during Kodak's bankruptcy before an ownership dispute is resolved.
WSJ said:Judge Allan L. Gropper of U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Manhattan's rulings covered both a pending suit Apple has against Kodak over the patent, as well as another complaint it wants to bring that covers damages the company thinks it is owed since Kodak filed for Chapter 11. The pending suit in the U.S. District Court in Rochester, N.Y., had already been stopped automatically by bankruptcy law, but Apple sought to lift the "automatic stay" shielding Kodak from litigation so the suit could continue.
iDB said:In January, 131 year old camera company Kodak filed a lawsuit against Apple for violating four patents. Fast forward a month later, Apple went after the already bankrupt Kodak in court, counter suing the company. Apple claimed that Kodak actually stole the patents in question from Apple.
Today, the WSJ reports a New York judge has ordered Apple to stop filing lawsuits against Kodak. Kodak is failing as a company and is currently bankrupt…
The judge has ruled it would be unfair to allow Apple to keep going after Kodak at this time, because of Kodak's current financial troubles. Kodak is also accusing Apple of slowing the sale of a few patents.
Kodak is currently failing as a company, and has been going after companies for violating its patents in order to gain money. The company currently has a $950 million loan, that it must pay back by June of this year. In the company's typical legal fashion, Apple isn't going to put up with Kodak in court.
In February, a judge halted Apple's motion to sue Kodak. Apple requested the halt be lifted, but that request has been denied today.
For now, it looks like Apple must play the waiting game.
This doesn't seem very current. At all.EDIT: here
