Watched the last episode 10 minutes ago....

seriously.....what the hell?

I won't spoil anything here but that ending was really....well...on the one hand it was unexpected and on the other hand it (last episode) was characteristic for David Lynch

next: Fire walk with me

Have fun!

I don't know why but I finished Twin Peaks minutes ago and I want to watch the entire series again...NOW

I want to go back to Twin Peaks.

Please, David Lynch....do a sequel....25 years after....

im going to watch season 2 on netflix now oh my good im excittedd

Half, or nearly half, of season 2 is really terrible. Just some of the worst TV ever made. You'll know when it jumps the shark, and after it does, skip the rest of the season except for the last two episodes.

this saturday i'm going to a screening of the pilot episode with a soundtrack remade by some electronic music weirdos. should be interesting.

I finished watching the series about a week or so ago. I really enjoyed it, and I wish it had lasted longer. The cliffhanger is killer. I need to watch Fire Walk With Me yet though. But yeah, it would be totally awesome if somehow they got Lynch to pick up where the series left off.

yea the 2nd half of season 2 is pretty bad, but the last couple episodes make up for all of the torture of watching the james story arc drag out

I said the same thing on the last page of this thread, and three people agreed with me. Also, Twin Peaks jumping the shark after
Leland Palmer being revealed as the killer
is mentioned all the time in websites and blogs about the biggest TV shark jumps. I think it's pretty much the consensus at this point.

As far as I know that was the result of the station forcing Lynch to
reveal Leland Palmer as the killer
far earlier than he had planned to in response to a dip in the ratings. He had to react to that unexpected change and the show suffered for it.

Well I think it depends on how you think about Twin Peaks.

I don't think Twin Peaks is about the killer of Laura Palmer or the death of Laura Palmer. It's about Dale Cooper and his investigation on this case (imo!)

edit: sorry for my english. drunk germans are lazy :P

I agree completely, but they hastily ended all of the tension of his investigation, instead of letting it play out and keeping you on the edge of your seat.

Twin Peaks thread :o

Just started season 2! my friend who recently finished the show says it kinda tapers off and gets really boring towards the end? should I believe him? should we still be friends?

Mairzy doats and dozy doats and liddle lamzy divey

I think everyone says it gets boring towards the middle of the season, while it gets better towards the end.

I never actually made it that far. I still somehow consider myself a fan, and I watched the first season about 4 times, but I never made it more than a few eps into season two. IMO the first scene with the giant alone is off-putting enough to almost make me stop watching. Not funny, not interesting, not suspenseful, not weird in a good way. Just grating and dragging and annoying.

The warm milk one ? This is my favorite scene from the series. Funny, interesting, suspenful, awkward, fascinating. Perfect.

You should definitely watch the series til the end though :).

Laura's death was supposed to serve as a series long catalyst. Her death was the "golden egg" as Lynch as referred to it as on multiple occasions. It was never supposed to be solved because, in the end, it doesn't matter. She's dead, her death has ramifications on the town, and finding the killer won't bring her back.

Loved the show up until the
mystery was solved.
Given that I didn't really like the sub-plots the show started to construct during early S2. I think first season was best and early second season was on the same bar and rest of the first half of S2 was really good. I'm going to finish the show some day but I'm in no hurry to see how it ends.

The latter quarter of the second season is among Twin Peak's very best. The last two episodes, in particular, are probably the most daring episodes of a television show that have ever aired.

Is there an update on the extra scenes from FWWM? Last I heard there were in negotiations with Lynch but that it had fallen through...

That's the best image I could find. He's a bit harder to see which I feel makes it creepier. He's like the monster at the foot of your bed.

It's true or not that
the idea of BOB came in just because, in a earlier shot, the sound technician could be seen reflexed in a mirror for error, and the writers decided to use this as a plot point?

And don't use Tinypic, people!

I believe it's true that the guy who eventually played Bob was hired because he was a technician who Lynch accidentally caught on camera looking menacing, but I don't know whether the idea of Bob had already been fully formed or not at that point.

I finished watching this a little over a week ago, and man, it's hard to get this series out of my head. So many unanswered questions, so many WTF moments!
I have to admit
BOB
has been giving me nightmares, with some of his scenes I've really had to look away because it was just to intense.
Anyway, it was an awesome show, they don't make them like this anymore.

Man I really hope they do something in 2016!

Laura Palmer told Cooper she would see him again in 25 years in the Black Lodge

I really like the fact that
Bob won, and that Cooper was beaten. You don't see a downer ending like that very often. It was quite refreshing.

I was bummed out by most of Season 2 yet I want to watch this series again (and I only just rewatched it a couple months ago)

I guess I really like the vibe of the series, dope to watch at night.

My result:

You are Donna Hayward.
Laura was your best friend, and her death broke your heart and drove you straight into the arms of Laura's boyfriend, James Hurley. Laura wouldn't mind, right? She would have wanted it that way, right? You sure hope so, but just in case, you and James are going to help the sheriff solve the case and put Laura's tortured soul to rest.

No surprise there to be honest. Donna is one of my favorite characters despite the stupid story arc for her and James in the second series. I was slightly younger then the teenagers in the series, but remembering how I was at that age I can relate to doing stupid stuff like falling in love with your best friend's boyfriend (and then feeling guilty about it), not really trusting adults to do the right thing, and how she behaved like an idiot when James was locked up just because that's what you see in the movies and you so desperately want to be seen as grown up.

Besides Coop (obviously) Hawk is actually one of my favorite characters. He always shows up in time to save the day, and his conversation with Lucy's sister is hilarious.
