I'm absolutely in love with this thing! Also, I'm actually enjoying Little Deviants much more than I was expecting to. I've put way more time into it than Uncharted so far. Is it worth 30 dollars? Maybe not but it's definitely a fun little game and certainly not deserving of some of the slagging that it's been getting around here.
I just got my Vita, Uncharted, and measly 4GB temp card and have a few questions.
When I go into the green "Settings" page. The back button disappears. Is the only way out pressing the Home button?
I started downloading a system update, pressed the Home button, and was pleasantly surprised to find I could background download these. I can get back to the settings page... but I'm not sure how to view the progress of the download.
When I upgrade to a 16GB card in a few weeks, can I just swap them out? I heard that your system is tied to the card in some way. Will this be a hassle? If so, can I back up on Media Go or something?
Oh, and is there a link to an online manual?

I think it's either the PS button or the on/off button. Then you "tear" the Settings page away and go back to the Home Screen.

I haven't tried it yet but I think if you swap the card, you'll just have to resync all the content to the new card. The "formatting" should be transparent if it's a new card. No need to overwrite any data.

Ok... so I am trying to decide on either VT4 and Fifa. I have never played either series. Which one dudes and dudettes? How are the single player modes? Which one is deeper? I am intrigued by the mini games in VT4, does fifa have any?
I'm guessing if CFW was going to be more like PSP CFW and less like PS3 CFW (IE there now vs there a few years into the system's lifecycle, if at all) there would already be progress towards getting stuff working?

Well, it happened.
Hot Shots Golf has completely sucked me in again. 3 hours tonight, and I am currently charging my Vita for the first time. I played Uncharted for a whopping 5 minutes, then figured I'd see what HSG looked like. Goodbye life!

I need a screen protector for this in the worst way. I have my Skinomi, but I need to get a lint free cloth tomorrow for sure to put it on.

What makes you think you can? You have to download it from the Japanese store until it gets released on your regions store. Which means changing accounts on the vita.

Bleh, Sony REALLY needs Vita support on Media Go or at least allow the Vita to leech off your PC's connection like it does for updates for the Content Manager.
I heard redeeming online passes on the Vita causes that problem? I'm not sure, someone said that to me on Twitter. Almost feel like redeeming them on PS3 or on the SEN website

Just got around to using near for the first time, and was pleasantly surprised to see about a dozen people in a 10km radius of me. A couple of them were playing Ragnarok Odyssey, even!

Does anyone know how to transfer PSP saves to a Vita on a Mac? I've got my saves in the PSAVEDATA folder in the PS Vita folder, but they're not showing up in the content manager.

The router is a WNDR3700, supposedly a good router but in practice a good old piece of junk (I don't think the vita is entirely at fault here since i had a hell of a time connecting a kindle fire as well). It supports all protocols - i am not sure which one the vita is trying to support by default. Does not support WEP, so I am using WPA.
The vita alternates between not finding the network ( i have three bar on my computer), telling me the password is incorrect, or trying to connect for so long (>10 minutes) that I have to hard stop it (canceling and waiting another five minutes produces no results).
Why is this shit still happening in 2011 :/

I just remembered that with the PSP, some sites use to have the demo files for other games in different regions available to download.
Couple things I really don't like.
1. The feel of the plastic touchscreen.
Just not nearly as smooth as the many glass devices I've used. It's responsive though.
2. The dramatic color shift when you tilt even a little bit back away or down towards you.
Other than that I'm pleased with the device itself, I'm feasting on demos until Sunday.

I knew the case was going to be tiny, but I didn't realize how tiny! It's adorable!
Now I'm waiting for Amazon to ship out my copies of Rayman, Wipeout, my carrying case and screen protector. And of course my Vita...
It's going to be a long wait until next Wednesday, but what sucks is that work is going to be slow for the next few days, so the days are really, really going to drag. We won't be busy again until March. Ugh.
I would have broken down and gotten the FEB for the 3 day weekend ahead, but honestly, I'm glad I'm waiting it out, as I just couldn't justify picking up the FEB for that price, especially when it's simply not what I want in terms of memory card and Little Deviants. I'm certainly feeling a pang of envy for those that have their shiny Vita's in their hands, but I can wait 7 more days. I just downloaded a crap load of free stuff from PS+, and I still have some backlog stuff to attack (and I just started replaying FFXII, since I lost my save for it and felt in the mood to play it).
I'll probably snag About a Blob next week (great price for a great game), but then that's it for my Vita purchases! No more! I can hold off on more software until March.

In My Documents/PS Vita/sdkfjhsdkhfksdj or whatever that jibberish folder is called, stick all the individual save folders. Don't stick the SAVEDATA folder as that does nothing.

I haven't tried taking out the SIM though.. (vita is currently backing up to my computer)

Sadly that's been changed with the Vita. You can only add content that's been downloaded either on a Vita or PS3.

Wasn't there an MJ demo on the store? I actually DO want to try it out and now it's nowhere to be found.
I redeemed mine and it too isn't showing up under my downloads and when I go to the page for the item says I own but doesn't have a buy/download link at all. I'd say just try playing the game online, I have a strong suspicion that they changed the system so it KNOWS you're OK to play when trying to go online and doesn't require a key downloaded, it is a new console and the lack of anything to download could just be Sony making the Online Pass system a bit smarter.

Can't say I can really detect much of a color shift. The viewing angles are pretty damned good.

You're a good man.
The suggestion I gave about seeing if it connects to an unsecured router is just to see if your Vita can even connect, not suggesting it as an actual solution, more like a troubleshooting step.
Try changing your wireless password. I've usually found that wireless devices can just be amazingly picky as to what the stupid password is on the router.
