Honestly, that just showed how loose/bad the controls are. Especially during that ground grappling stuff, you never really feel in control, you literally have to wrestle with your controls. That might be intended to represent the struggle with the other fighter, but it just doesn't make for very compelling gameplay, imo. I don't blame Jeff for not really noticing. I thought these aren't very good fighting games or sports games once it gets to the ground.
I also agree, at least partly, with Vinny. Kicking or punching someone when he's on the ground just ain't right. I don't think the grappling stuff is particularly interesting, either. K1/Kickboxing/Boxing are more appealing to me as far as competitive fighting goes.
Rhythm ______ games are very simple. Elite Beat Agents is... more involved. This'll be interesting, I hated the DS game despite the incredible love people seem to have from it. Elite Beat Agents is massively superior.
Yeah, it's particularly disappointing because I like the game as a pure striking game. The ground stuff is just ugh.Playing the third one now and have never felt out of control in this or the previous 2 installments. Haven't tried amateur controls though.
I didn't play them, didn't know they existed till I just heard Patrick mention it.Rhythm ______ games are very simple. Elite Beat Agents is... more involved.sorry
Did you like the GBA games?
Ah ok.I didn't play them, didn't know they existed till I just heard Patrick mention it.
Maybe, or it might just be the stylus thing Patrick said, I'll look out for a GBA one maybe.Ah ok.
Might just not be your style of game then.
Quick Look: Rhythm Heaven Fever 40:17 (Jeff/Vinny/Patrick)

oh god rhythm heaven looks FUCKING AMAZING
It's not a real hindrance though. Sometimes commands and cues are given in Japanese, but it's easy enough to remember those if you pay attention. The GBA Rhythm Tengoku is amazing, but be warned it's Japanese only.
It's nice to see Jeff enjoy things
Sooooooo much charm it's disgusting.Quick Look: Rhythm Heaven Fever 40:17 (Jeff/Vinny/Patrick)

Doesn't everyone complain about how they usually misrepresent games by not learning about them beforehand?
