Won't make a difference. People aren't going to buy Vita just because COD arrives.
Really? If they manage to give vita owners a full console experience when playing online, people will buy it.

Fair enough, but my point is that the CoD fanbase is so large that even if only a small portion of people felt it necessary to buy a Vita for a handheld installment, the sales would still be substantial. It's common knowledge by now - the franchise is colossal. So colossal that it would bolster Vita sales considerably, in my opinion.
Yeah, the PSP only sold seventy million units... bomba.Apparently it did considering where it ended up.
If CoD is the only game they are interested in for Vita, then sure. But keep in mind that a lot of people buy a Vita (or whatever system for that matter) for more than one reason. Personally i would buy a Vita regardless if it got a CoD game or not and i'm a fairly big CoD fan.The average person that plays Call of Duty is not going to shell out $249 + $49.99 (there's no way CoD is going to be cheaper than that on Vita) for a Call of Duty experience when they can just buy the game for $10 more and play it on a console with friends who already own that console.
Basically, buy new version of the game for $59 or buy a new platform for $249.99 + memory storage + $49.99 game + find more people to play online with or convince friends to buy the Vita.
Most people are going to opt out to just buy the new version of the game on the platform they already own.
wait - how is the Wii-U version going to be pissing in -anyones- cornflakes?! if there's a strong "no one will buy a PSV for COD" then who the hell is going to switch over from X360/PS3 to Wii-U for COD?

i'd be hype if you could play over 3g
Nobody but that wasn't what I was suggesting.wait - how is the Wii-U version going to be pissing in -anyones- cornflakes?! if there's a strong "no one will buy a PSV for COD" then who the hell is going to switch over from X360/PS3 to Wii-U for COD?
Why would you have to pass on the console versions to get Vita? The major pull for Vita is playing on PS3 then continuing on Vita. Vita is not meant to replace PS3 or 360. It's meant to enhance them by allowing you to play the same games on a handheld.
No, it won't. If those people cared about the graphics, they'd have been playing them on PC where it's significantly better than the WiiU could ever muster. They care about the online infrastructure which contains their friends I imagine. Which is why the WiiU, and PSV versions aren't particularly important. The Wii-u version will have the selling point of "da bestest grafficks" at least
Well with CoD superior graphics and gameplay seems to mean something. CoD games have had Wii version also. We know how those sold compared to HD consoles. Same scenario could happen with 3DS and Vita versions.
i'd be hype if you could play over 3g
4 million is huge enough number for me.
Not with 3G speeds.not with Treyarch's netcode
cue debate about whether or not people will buy cod on a portable
they won't
I am sure people can't wait to play cod on a 7" screen...

Then why doesn't the PC version sell best by miles?
Best online.
Best controls.
Best graphics.
.
Would hspa+ be fast enough for online gaming. Or is it 4G or bust?
Regular broadband speeds in NA are awful and don't ensure a great experience. Coupled with a data cap, it just doesn't seem plausible for the time being.Would hspa+ be fast enough for online gaming. Or is it 4G or bust?
Ever heard about piracy?
Just over 10m MW3 sold for PS3. How many of those do you think are seriously likely to double dip on the game and buy a new console to play it away from their TV?
Online doesnt work with pirated version. Well, maybe hacked servers works, but then you're missing out on leveling up, prestiging etc.Ever heard about piracy?
I don't think this is the game that's going to make the Vita huge or anything, but continuing to get games announced for it is a good thing. I think even if it doesn't sell too many new Vitas, a large amount of the Vita userbase will likely buy the game since it'll likely be quite true to the real console game.
Not with 3G speeds.
How is mindshare amongst developers a viable thing we can even gauge let alone use as any way to establish the popularity of a platform?people always mention the psp's numbers in discussions such as this, but did that console (outside of its first two years, perhaps) ever hold any considerable mindshare amongst developers? how much money did psp games make for publishers?
How many do you think? 6? Maybe 10 people at max right? lol. I like how people are trying to turn this into a negative. Oh no one is going to buy it. Oh noes. Better run Sony.
Ever heard about piracy?
"mindshare amongst developers" is a laughable concept. Its either a platform and a project you can make money from, or its not an option.
Its that simple.

No, nor R2/L2, but the back pad can be split in four for those things.Does Vita has clicky sticks?
