Currently transferring 219 wallpapers from my PC to my Vita via Content Manager. It's going extremely slow. Been at it for about 20 minutes, and it's only transferred 20 wallpapers. Anybody else have this problem or am I doing something wrong?

Also thanks to the poster for linking me to the Youtube video with the Hori screen protector.

Yes, data transfer is slow ! Sony definitely should at least double the performance by hook or by crook. >8^/

Did anyone catch this hilarious picture on the playstation blog?

They implied that Jack Tretton is handing out a Vita box at midnight launch.

It's really slow.
Though not as slow as 20 minutes for 20 images.
I hate the content manager. So much.

Also, I keep forgetting that the Vita hasn't actually launched yet. I was sitting here whining and moaning that my replacement Vita won't ship from Amazon until the 22nd... But I've had the Vita for over a week and most people have still been waiting to even get their first one. I'm such a selfish ass.

The FEB cases are selling for over $40 on eBay! So, the value of the FEB edition is much better than the naysayers were giving it. Go for it!!

The one auction I looked at it sold for $40 w/ free shipping. So after you deduct the eBay fees and the cost of shipping, and the PayPal fee, you maybe break even or lose. At best you take the sting out of money lost on Little Deviants a bit better =)

OK, I can confirm that Near will access the GPS for location data when 3G is off and wifi is not connected. Pulled up near when I got home tonight, it had an entry for 7:46 am when I was driving through the city on my way to work.

Pretty cool that it works exactly like I hoped it would, this was the main reason I wanted the 3G version.

Yup, GPS killed my battery today.
Went ahead and turned that setting off in Near.
Glad to see it working though.

Sigh~ I forgot to bring my Vita back. It's sitting pretty in the office now. Crap, was planning to finish up Escape Plan and start FIFA. >_<

How stupid can I get !? Will have to drive back tomorrow morning to retrieve it.

PS3, here I come !

Yes, they are shooting for it.

Nice. I'm so damn tempted to get a vita. I bought a psp at launch in 2005, but it got stolen like a year later and I never got another. My ps3 just died too so I'm without a console to game on right now and I'm hesistant to buy another one at this point in it's lifespan for $250, so I'm thinking the vita would be a nice stop gap until the new consoles are out. Ipad 3 is coming next month though and I've been wanting to get an ipad too. Hard decisions.

Someone asked for impressions on the Pouch (Blue/white/black). Build quality looks really good, has a nice softness on the outside (think nylon jacket) and on the inside it has a nice soft fabric. It has a 2 zippers up top, basically the top half unzips and opens like a pencil pouch.

When you first open it there is a foam cutout in the shape of the vita inside on one half (where the vita is meant to be contained).

The other half (split with a divider that has foam built into it) is just empty space for cords, etc.

The divider has room for three games that face the empty side of the pouch.) The inside is a nice soft material and the divider is a sort of foam/memory foam feel.

Id give it a 8/10. Would be a higher rating but the price is a little high (should be 19.99) and the blue color is darker then i would have liked ( I thought it was more like the Blue DSI color). So far I havent gotten it dirty at all but I have only had it for about 2-3 days.

Thanks for the impression. I cannot wait for the case to come!

damn... I sold mine to a guy for only $20 :-(

but I wasn't really looking to make a lot of money off it, just to offset the cost of the Hori case I imported from Japan

i took a look at those cases, but i think i want something slim, and a hard case too. the VIP case still seems to win out - as I don't plan on taking game carts/cables with me.

do we know how "safe" that zavvi site is? it still says shipping to canada is £0.99. seems a bit strange, i'm holding off

I've had a Vita since the Japanese launch, and had it tied to my Japanese PSN account with an 8GB memory card.

Picked up a 32GB card to setup with my US account, and wondering what's the best way to get this set up so I can switch between the two at will?

Do I need to deactivate while I have the old memory card in, or can I just take the card out and put the new one in and setup as if I'm working with a new system?

Greg Miller is useful for something.

lol A gaffer also sold me his for 20 bucks. Really, out of all the cases, the FEB one looked the most useful to me since I'll be throwing my Vita in a backpack.

I would love to find something like this for the Vita:

Yeah, it's great for holding the system, but you basically have to flip the case with your hand under it to get the Vita out of it. It's still nice though. Protects it good.

Yep. Why didn't they just add a flap you could use to pull it out of the case? Weird.

I posted earlier about having problems connecting to AT&T. I called AT&T support and they said it's probably the vita, so they transferred me to Sony and they said it was probably AT&T...but they also said I could send it in for repair if I wanted to. I had a strong feeling that my unit wasn't defective so I went to AT&T and asked if they could check out my sim card, they tried it on another device and it wasn't working, so they gave me another and it's all good now. So if anyone else is having problems like me, you could try what I did to fix it.

just to clarify....when sony announced that Vita owners who also had the PS3 Wipeout are entitled to free downloads of VIta Wipeout.....do they mean PS3 owners who bought Wipeout DLC are entitled to free Wipeout 2048 DLC, or that they are entitled to a free download of Wipeout 2048 the Vita game itself???

im still a bit confused about sony's wording of the promotion, so please forgive me

You could always use me as a litmus test. I'll keep you posted on how long it takes for my VIP case to arrive, whether it ships out right away on the 22nd and whether I get dinged by customs.

Just watched a few Lockerz videos, and can get ModNation Racers: Road Trip for $20.99.

I'm hesitant, though I'm not sure why. I played a coworkers ModNation on his Vita yesterday, and thought it was just as fun as the PS3 version.

I also already have 3 Vita games: Uncharted, Rayman, and Wipeout (the latter 2 are still listed as "Not Shipped," so I have no idea if they'll arrive by Wednesday evening, which is when I'll get my Vita from Amazon). Not to mention I have 3 PSP games to copy to the system: Corpse Party, Gladiator Begins, and FF Dissidia 012. I'm also buying Mutant Blobs Attack on Tuesday, because I loved the first game on the PS3, and it's $8, how can I resist? I guess the point is that I have a lot of games to play on my Vita already, so do I really need ModNation?

But, man, $20.99 is super tempting. How long do these Lockerz deals last, and do my points expire? I've never used the site before. And then I wonder if they'll have deals on the next batch of Vita games (ie, Gravity Rush and Unit 13), in which case, I can probably hold off using my points on MNR for one of those (whichever releases first, and if the demo of Unit 13 next week doesn't turn me off on it. lol).

Thoughts?

Cool, thanks. I'll keep the case in mind if I end up getting another one. It all comes down to getting these damn stench out of the FEB case.

I would love to find something like this for the Vita:

nds_pouch_red_big_1.jpg

This is what I had originally planned on using.... I layered my blue and red one inside of the other to create some padding. Does the Vita fit?

I'm curious about this too. I've always wanted that pouch and I have the coins for it. Anybody here have it and the Vita?

(I know the irony of not wanting it to hold a 3DS, lol, but I already have a case for that)

I may have gone a little overboard with some of my purchases this week, lol. I got the FEB, and 5 games for my Vita. I feel like I should've maybe held off on at least one game. I got Touch my Katamari a couple days ago, and I haven't even opened it yet. I could technically still return it, but I bought it from my work, and I'm just embarrassed to return it. I hope you guys don't mind me saying this, but I'd sell it to someone on here for $25 if anyone's interested in saving me the embarrassment, lol.
