I disagree that this launch is inferior to Dreamcast. It may be on par, but not less. The Vita is in area never seen: an HD console in your pocket on par with its console brethren if not better.

Anything that can output 720p (maybe even 1080p, not sure) H264 MP4 file will work. Handbrake is popular choice.

If you press power button then it stops. If you just leave it alone, screen will turn off but downloads will continue.huh, not for me. When it goes standby it stops downloading

Copying those HK items to my Vita now with my Vita on my HK account.
Question....can I use these items once I switch over to my US account on my Vita? Or will they only work while I am using my HK account on my Vita?

What's sad is that Jaffe was told by a GameStop manager that Dungeon Hunter has more pre-orders than Lumines.
I think that's my problem. It won't let me sign into my HK account on my US Vita.
Is there a settings I need to reset first?
I'm really looking forward to the Vita once I can afford it. Still a little bummed out on the backwards capability stuff. I just counted today, I own 81 PSP games, 80 of which are UMD and 1 that is digital-only (Cladun, soon to add Corpse Party in the near future). It's a shame that they dropped the physical-to-digital transfer plan in NA. Down the road I would have probably payed the discounted fee to AT LEAST transfer the games I really value. Oh well. =/

It's going to be difficult to platinum Uncharted with the silly Near functionality. Useless.
Might clean up some of the other trophies (if I'm not getting the black market stuff, I might as well not bother trying to kill 200 with the UZI), move on to Little Deviants, and then set the Vita aside until something new and worth playing comes out.

You can still play them when you switch. Just don't format the memory card.
Yes, use the Format PSVita system option.
When it asks to for,at the memory card , say no.
Once that process is complete, you register another PSN account, like your HK one.

Apparently if you drop it the latch pops open and the vita goes flying out so it seems pretty worthless.

I just noticed that there's a small but very bright orange LED under the cover of the game cartridge bay beside the cart slot. If you put in a new cart and leave the little plastic cover open, you can see it flashing frantically as it reads the cart. Don't know why they bothered, really, but it's kinda cool...
I hate putting a cart in, have the orange light flash, but not apply enough force so the cart pops back out and the Iight stops.

I'll have to try some 1080p MP4s that I have on PS3. 720p MP4 files I had on laptop just copied over and played fine.
Had a very weird experience with my Vita today. It was the first time I've taken it out for a long day's work (I drive for work). When I went to play it midway through my day... it wouldn't turn on. I tried every button, every combination, holding them down for way too long...
I came home and plugged it in and the battery had been dead. B... But... it's not like the system was on all day. It was in standby, and I'm 95% sure I plugged it in the night before. But even then it couldn't have been more than 75% gone in battery when I stopped playing last night.
I feel bad because I was saying how good the battery was in standby just yesterday... Hm. Hopefully I'm missing something.

With this gen dragging out so long, Vita is the first portable with the potential to be many hardcore gamers main gaming platform. That in itself is an amazing accomplishment for Sony.
This makes me sad. Two minutes of research would have told people Dungeon Hunter is a money grabbing port of a mediocre game they shouldn't be paying £30/$40 for.
I think Uncharted will get traded in quite a bit in the upcoming months so you'll be able to pick it up quite a bit cheaper.
Same as Lumines then.

720p is the max resolution Vita will handle, it will also only play up to AVC 3.1 high profile, so if your video is AVC 4.0 or above, it won't play at all (can't even copy it to your Vita from your content management app)

Wasn't there an app released on the PS3 that was a video player that supported more codecs? I'm pretty sure VITA will get something not too far off into the future, it couldn't hurt if people made a ruckus about it to get it on the VITA faster.
Even then, it's only a "PS Vita" game, because that's the label that's been put on it. For anyone that hasn't played every single RPG available for on PSN there is plenty of compatible PSP RPGs that are vastly superior and cheaper.

This happened to me once, too, a couple months back. I still have no idea how, but somehow the entire battery drained itself, when (I thought) it was on standby.
I take my Vita with me every day and glad it hasn't happened since, but yeah, it was weird.

However, I doubt I'll repeat this process until it's simplified. What a pain.
I just re-dowloaded the PSP version of LittleBigPlanet; then downloaded all of the free DLC (close to 20 files) on the store. I just now found out that LBP isn't even playable yet on Vita. So now I have a fuckton of the install bubbles on my xmb. I suppose I'll just wait it out and hope the games playback is added soon, because I'll be damned if I'm going to redownload all that shit again.

He has a point. Lumines may have started as a PSP title but has since been on PSN and iOS at far cheaper prices and now all of sudden it is back up to $40.
He's a reviewer, IIRC.
They want you to buy the Vita version, maybe.
