This was surprisingly well crafted. The main guy strikes the balance between audience insert and personality well, the secondary cast is fun--dat bro--and the general pacing seems to be good, if not a little fast. Also of note, those gorgeous BGs. It felt like they had each shot specifically angled to have the setting give off not its best impression, but the strongest one, if that makes any sense-- like the fishing scene at the riverside, for example--and I know I'm not putting it as eloquently as it could be, and this definitely won't be any better, but I fucking dug that a lot. I thought the OP is hot trash, but found the ED to be a good bit better.

Catching up on the show, this string of episodes was quite solid. I was surprised that Yuki went back to his usual bitch self after the events of episode 14. Seems like he is improving again though. As much of a loser that he is, its not really offensive because it works well within the context of the show. After seeing his father it makes sense why he's the way he is. Episode 17 was pretty sad. Both with
It's a shame this show didn't have the budget for better visuals. Such a glaring weakness on an otherwise good anime.

Haha, I will at some point for SRW but there's just something about it that I dislike. I think the high point of the first 13 episodes was hearing Nobuyuki Hiyama.
If it was selling as a typical volume I'm sure 30k would be no issue, but since it's selling as a boxset covering this first season.. well that throws a spanner into the works.

Unfortunately, you're going to be hitting the weaker, anime-original story line now. It's still enjoyable, but the quality took a definite hit at that point.
