Holy fuck @ Jamal's line just after 1 quarter.

Damn.

Anyone else watch the Sac/Miami game and come away impressed by how the Kings played?

Isiah Thomas had a great game against the Heat. I know DMC gets a lot of hate but he looks like he actually cares about competing/winning, which is rare. Sure he can come across as petulant but he'll be a beast if he ever does somehow put it all together.

Didn't last time we play you guys Aldridge dropped like, 48 pts? Maybe not 48 but he definitely had a huge game

No, hes had 29, 9, and 14 in the last 3 games against us. He did drop 40 on us last season tho.

The Spurs have played 6 games, including this one, against the Blazers this season and last. Duncan has played in 3, and sat the other 3.

Duncan sits: Spurs give up 98 (L), 100 (L), 66 at halftime (L)
Duncan plays: Spurs give up 83 (W), 99 (L), 78 (W)

But besides that, its pretty evident that our defense is absolutely garbage anytime he sits. Its a serious concern for any Spurs fan; we rely on Tim a lot.

It was last season i forgot to mention that. Did Tim play in that one? And what about Splitter is he any good at defense, or is it mostly just on Duncan?

Pop is like, "Fuck your betting line."

Best remaining coach in the NBA, hands down.

It's not even close.

I can't think of another coach in NBA history where you could legitimately say that replacing him with an average-below average coach would hurt the team more than replacing the best player with an average-below average player.

Gregg Popovich is the most valuable asset the Spurs have.

Real talk.

I have ALWAYS respected Pop.

Too bad 5pur5 fans never respected Phil.

Popovich, Kawai Leanord and Richard Jefferson for Bynum, Mike Brown and a future 1st round pick.

I actually feel bad for this, we act like were fricking owning. It's all against spurs bench lol. Next 3 games we play we'll totally take it easy and get blown out.

It was last season i forgot to mention that. Did Tim play in that one? And what about Splitter is he any good at defense, or is it mostly just on Duncan?

Splitter is Charmin soft and one of the most unathletic players in the NBA. Tim Duncan today is more athletic than Splitter has ever been.

However...Splitter has surprised me with how good he is at other things. His footwork is damn good. He won't ever dunk or go up strong, and thats a huge limitation, but he can move with the best of them. Similarly, his lateral quickness on defense is rather good, but he can't block a shot to save his life. The most unforgivable thing though is despite his skills, his shot is awful, and that really limits his game...

Hes a mixed bag, but way better than I gave him credit for to start the season. In the end, hes another one dimensional tool in Pop's toolbox (Dejuan is the physical banger who gets rebounds, Bonner is the shooter, and Splitter is the post isolation guy). Pop seems to do well with those type of players, because he is really good at picking and choosing when to highlight their talents while minimizing their faults.

With the 2012 All-Star Weekend just around the corner, the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest has undergone some last-minute changes.

Iman Shumpert of the New York Knicks will no longer compete in the dunk contest, according to sources close to the situation. Shumpert missed Monday’s game against the New Jersey Nets due to a knee injury and he’ll rest during the weekend. While he wanted to compete in the dunk contest, getting healthy is his top priority.

Shumpert will likely be replaced by Jeremy Evans of the Utah Jazz. On Tuesday afternoon, the Utah Jazz’s official website announced that Evans was added to the dunk contest. They also released a video of Evans dunking and encouraging fans to vote for him on Saturday night. However, the video was removed shortly after being uploaded on the website. The NBA didn’t want the news leaking out until an official announcement was made.

A press release will likely be distributed on Wednesday, officially announcing that Evans has replaced Shumpert. Evans will compete with Paul George of the Indiana Pacers, Chase Budinger of the Houston Rockets and Derrick Williams of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Hope he does awesome, amazing athlete.
