Guild Wars 2 Beta Signup up (will last 48hours)

Hah, did Scannertroll really just only scanned the first HDD partition? Awesome, 6gb free space!

They said it takes all the info, but only displays the first. So people with multiple HD's, or integrated/discrete card combos, have no fear, they are getting all the relevant information.

I don't like platforming... It does not belong in MMO games, it usually glitches and gets exploited. You can already see how surface deformations collide with models, but perhaps it is just in the Beta and some clever solution is going to be implemented.

Perhaps they are going to choose my laptop to see how antique hardware handles the game :D Nvidia GF 7300 Mobility!

tell me this game supports gamepads

Ewwwww....I hope not. Yes I am actually hoping a feature is not in the game.

Gamepads are not a practical input device for mmo's. There are too many simultaneous inputs to be pressed and need to switch ability sets for a gamepad to be practical for an mmo. It just doesn't work well. Even in Tera a game that specifically wanted gamepad support it just doesn't work all that well in comparison to a mouse and keyboard.

Unrelated: Curse this thread. Don't tell people about the beta. You are ruining my odds of being selected :D

(Curse my bumping of this thread XD).

but DC Universe works with a gamepad, and FFXIV

If you look at 0:14 in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=q0Z8n120H7Y#t=14s

You'll notice that there's level ranges on each zone...I think they made zones with themes for every race all the way from 1-80...

Got the comfirmation e-mail about 10 minutes after, now to wait...only time I got in a beta was for Rift I believe and LoTRO.

I did it on two computers. Still haven't gotten the first confirmation e-mail (~2 hours), got the second within a couple minutes.

Yeah, still haven't got mine. I bet they saw mine and said "Hmm...chelmo...nope deleted." /cry

I haven't received mine neither, feel you bro :(

The Mesmer PvP Video of MikeB is pretty good, nice quality and good action, he used lots of abilities. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqSVue7dK6o

I liked the leave a clone and disappear skill, all mindfuck. At the start of the video he confuse some people with illusions. Good stuff.

And the exploring thing is so awesome, good stuff for people who like to enjoy the world and explore, gives you motivation too.

Edit: >_> i registered minutes after the website went on, why i haven't receveid anything and others too >:( oh A.NET

Are we posting stuff here now?

http://massively.joystiq.com/2012/0...nicles-extra-guild-wars-2-crafting-explained/

Crafting Explained. It's like Skyrim alchemy, but you have to craft the parts first. It's not anything too exciting. You want a shield? You craft a shielf base, a handle and then an insignia to improve it, plop all three into discovery tab and boom.

When you combine:

No node ganking
A system built through discovery rather than the same recipe everyone else has
Allowing you to drop a profession and pick it back up without losing progress
Items aren't a bunch of worthless crap you don't ever want
No crafting failure
Crit crafts get you materials back

Put it all together and you have a huge change in the crafting side of things, it's all extremely convenient, not a grind, and actually useful. For me that is a great system.

Still no confirmation email after 5 hours but when I try to sign up with the same email adress it says that its already signed up for the beta

In regards to that exploration video I posted:

Rather than attempt to explain just how challenging but utterly cool these areas can be, I’ve put together a short teaser video of one such area found in the Ascalon Basin area of the charr starting zones. To avoid too many major spoilers, the following video only shows the first part of the area up to the point where you start running into various traps.

The traps in this particular puzzle ranged from the spike traps you can see represented by red circles on the ground closer to the end of the video, to a corridor filled with flame traps that you have to dodge roll through, and a seemingly straight forward run up some stairs that can end in a quick dirt nap if you don’t dodge falling boulders fast enough.

Here’s a tip for anyone who seeks out this particular challenge: bring some friends along. That way, if you get zapped by the traps you’ll have an easier time keeping one another alive as you ascend this particular jumping puzzle.
