So hey, Player One Podcast! Pretty good, huh?
Any chance you guys will be able to start live streaming the show again any time soon? Was always fun getting to chat with you guys after the show and of course to tell you you were wrong in real-time.

Yes. I'm going to have to figure out another way to do it since the way I was doing it doesn't work anymore - but I will try to make this happen for this week.

LOL, no one is going to show up for our we're-old-men-so-we're-only-free-on-Sunday-mornings recording time.
Well, some of them. There were lots of awesome ones.
Haha, it all makes sense. I thought I knew the origins of the tag, when you first posted in this thread. But I couldn't remember exactly what it was. And on last week's episode, you said you work at a marketing/ad agency, and it suddenly clicked with me. Had to ask to make sure I was right first, though.
Anyway, based on your work in that thread, you are very talented in what you do. I'll make sure I contact you whenever I need me some advertisement.
The Lumines hate makes me sad. At least Mike was there to defend it.
yea, I heard you mention that on the show. My comment was directed more at Phil and Stewy. Miz is sad.I don't hate Lumines, I just don't feel it ever clicked with me like some puzzle games do.
He shouldn't be too sad--Meteos is great. Lumines is a dull, poorly paced game that hides behind its A/V mask.yea, I heard you mention that on the show. My comment was directed more at Phil and Stewy. Miz is sad.
Sometimes I feel like I should volunteer my services to edit the podcast. Maybe it's just cause I edit one every week but whenever I hear a background noise that's clearly coming from someone who isn't talking it annoys the crap out of me. Such an easy thing to fix, I shall let CJ off though since he did just have a kid, but just wanted to have a quick moan.
I kind of understand the Lumines hate.
I love Lumines, but if you take away the presentation, the core puzzle gameplay is kind of weak compared to other similar puzzle games out there.
It's also nice to hear a podcast that's positive on the Vita. Smelly cases and all (I love how someone came to the thread every day to post about their stinky case).
Man I really wish they would make a new Meteos on the 3DS or something. Heck even an iOS version would be nice. That game really does not get enough love in the world. He shouldn't be too sad--Meteos is great. Lumines is a dull, poorly paced game that hides behind its A/V mask.
Of course, I only ever played the first Lumines. If the series has evolved since then, well, mea culpa.
And, confirmed - you'll be able to once again listen to us record an episode via Ustream starting this weekend with Episode 279. More details as we hammer out a time amongst hosts - I will post it to the @p1podcast twitter feed. We seem to do most recording in the early afternoon EST lately tho'.
It's not that great of news...this is the episode I'm likely to miss.Yay! This is great news.

CJ planned it that way, the fiend!

For the couple of stages, sure. In the same way that randomly moving blocks around in Tetris Attack/Puzzle League will cause you to inadvertently form a few combos. Once you get past those early levels, though, the "scribble wildly" technique will doom you almost immediately. Not to shit on a game that i haven't played (Which means that i will shit on that game), but i heard that meteos was basically scribble your ds to win. Is there any truth to that statement?
Seriously, how do you not pay attention to that?I'm going to miss having you get distracted by the chat when the others talk. But i will endure.

Just keep this post open over the chat window. Problem solved.
This episode was rife with technical difficulties. CJ's internet died, Mike's internet died, and then my GarageBand decided to stop recording my audio 20 minutes into the show (although the program still gave the appearance of recording--I was even able to "stop" recording after we finished).New ep is up
The sound quality![]()
If I donate another 25 bucks will that helpThis episode was rife with technical difficulties. So yeah, terrible sound quality this episode.
Maybe if you ingrates would toss us a few thousand dollars for new microphones and equipment, we wouldn't have these problems.
If I donate another 25 bucks will that help
Personally, I'm gonna be too busy becoming a father tomorrow to do another episode. You guys should just do another ep tomorrow to make up for this.
We lost the ustream when CJ's internet died. What about the audio from the ustream?
Live stream of the birth!Personally, I'm gonna be too busy becoming a father tomorrow to do another episode.

Like we said, all sorts of problems this week.
Mike doing the Lord's work pimping Mutant Blobs. Not only a really fun game, but also notable in that it serves as a model for good 'middle class' handheld games. Im' not going to pony up $40 for too many Vita games, only the AAA stuff. But, I will gladly pay $5-15 for games like this, where you get traditional controls, Trophies, and a few more perks not available in iOS games.
Audio is bad compared to the normal show quality, but still very listenable (normally, P1P is by far the best sounding 'remote call in' podcast most weeks).
Just wanted to post two thoughts:
1) the love for the Vita is interesting in comparison to the 'meh' reviews on the CAGcast, and almost, almost has me wanting to snag one (if I was traveling more for work right now I'd probably cave)
2) the Young Jessica Chobot line from Mik was one of the funniest off-the-cuff comments on a podcast in years of listening. I actually cackled out loud. Comedy Gold.
I wasn't going to listen because of the audio quality, but pimpage of Mutant Blobs, hands down the best game to be released this year so far?
Gottta listen!
Did you guys try to record early so that CJ could watch Daytona get rained on?
