I believe thats the case yes, I'd be suprised if valve didn't send out a little reminder that a sale is coming up but afaik publishers control the price of their games 100%.
I don't think it has been officially stated but is believed to be 30%, same as many other DD services.

Indeed. They also inform publishers of how their games are doing and suggest sales and whatnot. Though most big publishers I assume don't listen and just do what they think is right lol.
Well I've heard the 30% number before, but I've also heard that it fluctuates depending on the game and publisher. 30% is probably the standard rate though.

Ya it was some classic shit. But... You really can't blame anyone for it because nintendo STILL hasn't released any footage of a game on the system, and it's gonna be almost a whole year to the day from last e3 to this one, till we finally see something running on the damn console.

Last time I was on a train, it was off to a TV station with my school.
It was as boring as a derailed hype train.
Oh, and at the end of filming they were all "TO CELEBRATE THE RELEASE OF KINECT" (it was the week before launch) "WE'RE GIVING EVERYONE-" A 360 game. 2 people had 360's. And the kicker - it didn't even have Kinect compatibility.

This is the way I've been visualizing this thread for the last couple of months:
Riding on an FZero track with E3 being the finish line.
Posters with "insider" info (no disrespect to you guys - keep it up) and GDC/other official anouncement(s) are the boost pads, keeping the thread alive and kicking, accelerating (speedometer reads "posts per day") towards the goal, E3.
Iwata and friends guard their secret with their life, stopping any leaks, thus slowing this thread to a standstill.

Seriously, imagine that on the Wii U. With online mode, and a circuit editor managed with the padlet, and you can share your creations on a dedicated website with player giving them scores, etc.
And Big N, do a ridiculous and over-the-top marketing campaign with a badass crew starring Captain Falcon, Samurai Goroh, etc, singing in flashy pinky trance & hardrock song clips. And real people dressed up like them who go for a walk with pathetic superhero posture in big cities like Paris, for weeks before the launch.

and the funny thing about the Wii U unveil, once again (probably the 100th time) is that when Project Revolution was shown for the first time, it was just the console. no final name, no software (and don't count that 2 sec Metroid clip) and no controller until 5 months later. we knew WAAAAAY less about the Wii. but the Wii U, we get all sorts of info in comparison, and yet people were still confused and didn't appreciate the info we got? the internet is a great place

I'm pretty hyped for GDC though, hopefully Nintendo announces something. Come on Smash HD trilogy, with Smash 4 online beta announcement!!! Is it wrong of me to want Smash with amazing online play so damn much? It's like the only Nintendo IP I desperately crave online MP for.
