Here's a first look at the anime designs from FUNimation themselves. This is from SXSW at Austin. It confirms that the anime is coming out late 2012, and that it will be a 2D production from Production IG instead of a 3DCG one like Dragon Age. You can see various designs for James Vega, the Geth, and various locations, aliens, weapons, etc. The video is also available in HD so you can see the designs in a higher resolution.

Note that while the FUNimation guy says that the character designer worked on Eureka Seven, it is definitely NOT Yoshida's work, so I don't really know who he's referring to. The art looks pretty generic anyway.

I have been lately replaying ME1 and I am now in Ilos.

Should I play (again) ME2 at all before playing ME3?

I am unsure

Edit: Apparently my post was moved from the ME3 Space Jesus thread to a new thread and is now totally off topic.

The site doesn't work and I get an "the uploader hasn't made the video available to your country" message.

Hold on a sec, I'm gonna need to scrounge into my gif folder for this. Be right back.

Aight, we can roll with this:

Guessing the Origin unlock date for the UK is the same as the street date, which is the 9th?

EDIT: Whoops. Had a few ME3 threads open at once and completely posted this in the wrong one.

New threads for new news.

I could've sworn there were rumblings of a Mass Effect anime months ago.

...*checks*

Yep: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/pre...ainment-announce-mass-effect-anime-movie-deal

Pretty cool though, in any case. Unless it ends up being shit like those Marvel collabs.

edit: to be fair, seems like I.G's involvement is news. That's definitely exciting.

We knew about the anime existing, but not the studio, nor the title and plot. So this, I guess, is the 'official' announcement.

If it centered around

Wrex and how Krogan unification is going?
Garrus?
Thane?
Illusive Man?
Liara?
Tali?
Shep?
Mordin?
Andersen trying to convince fools on the citadel shit's about to go down?
The fallout between Miranda/Jacob and Cerberus/Illusive Man?

Hell yes to all of those.

Vega voiced by fucking Freddy Prince Junior? No thanks just waiting for the first chance to put a bullet in the back of his+ Ashely's head.

"The uploader has not made this video available in your country."

Oh boy region locked logos.
You see a lot. You see the logo. You see BioWare's logo and Funimation's logo. And a big coming soon. Definitely mind blowing stuff.
other words: You missed nothing

I already have it pre-ordered and I don't even know from where.

I played the prequel to ME3 already. It was called ME2 (and the arrival dlc).

I'll gladly be passing on this, but thanks for the effort, EA.

Never been a huge fan of taking western things and making them into anime, doesn't help that most of them have been terrible, especially that really boring and blandly animated thundercats cartoon.

A couple of the animatrix shorts were alright though.

Why does Bioware think we care about the Humans? That's what pisses me off about the Mass Effect series we only seem to focus on the Humans now, and then try to make the Aliens as human as possible. Nobody asked for James Vega. I hope I get a chance to kill him in-game.
