Started re-watching Ronin Warriors out of nostalgia.

Transformations are as bad ass as I remember them. However, now that I re-watch it I can't help but see a certain similarity...

Oh I've seen that from the link you dropped in here from a while back. It's actually one of the reasons I decided to give the show a shot.

Oh neat. Yeah, the
Energer Z
introduction is ridiculous. The voice director probably just told the guy to scream as loud as he could for as long as he could.

Guilty Crown is making tons of money and has a relatively high score on MAL.

I would not say that score of 7.82 (ranked 395) is that good in MAL. Especially compared to Code Geass (R1:8.89, R2: 8.98 Both in top 15). Also I thought that BD/DVD sales for Guilty Crown were actually little disappointing? Vol 2 sold something like 8k first week. Not even in top 10 that week.

I think it was my favorite of the non mech orientated episodes. Only weak part was once the backstroy kicked in but otherwise pretty fun and funny. Array is probably my favorite character of the anime and Izo and Kirius and him are vastly more interesting than Madoka, Lan, Megunami.

Hopefully they end up not going after to try to destroy the vox's but siding with them. Confused on the overall plot and factions though, is it two separate entities want the Vox's as well as Earth? Dont really want Array and co to be antagonists

I wouldn't worry about them being antagonists. After watching this episode, I'm pretty sure they'll either team up with Madoka and the others or die.

There's 3 Space 1 Earth:
Le Garite, De Metrio, Kiss, and the Foundation on Earth, Novumundos.

Izo, Kirius, Array, Space Tiger, and Yurikano are all from De Metrio. They all want the Voxes, but only those with memoria can pilot them.

I don't know if copy the old tricks over and over again is good directing

This

my reaction to reading that blog was "jesus christ anime monocle fans" smh did I just witness someone comparing Vapor Trails bbut aren't they in like nearly all of them.

While I wont claim to be familiar with his entire body of work I haven't seen any shows that would justify your claim that he is 'an awful director'. Perhaps you could explain how, exactly, he is awful at directing?

Unfortunately I have long grown tired ranting about how this director can’t handle anything beyond 3-4episodes.

I would like to elaborate on that but right now I don’t want to spend another second in this thread.

Actually, going over my collection there's a couple anime I haven't finished yet or have completely forgotten the story to. Oh, and for massive nostaliga, I recently rewatched this anime (and both of the terrible movies, which I hadn't seen before) as this pretty much got me into anime as a kid.

I wasn't quite sure what it was for a long time until I saw a random VHS of it and was like "OMG THAT'S IT!" lol.

Need to re-watch:

And the anime I need to finish:

This episode entertained me far more than the preview led me to believe. It was pretty funny, we got more story on everyone, they finally introduced
Yurikano at the beginning
who in the prequel manga volume
died basically with the same premise that Madoka's mom did (though not drowning, it was something worse which I won't spoil here), which explains more of why Izo decided not to confront Madoka at the school.

I laughed a bunch this episode, it was pretty fun, and totally set up the last
arc of the first half of the show. I think with what we have now, the finale for Act 1 is going to be pretty great.

Soul Eater 36-44

Please let Crona deliver the final death blow to Medusa. And let Crona live dammit!
Wow, Asura sure is living the good life. Gets to relax while being comforted by a spider chick with big boobs (and he didn't motorboat when he had the chance). Too bad Archane is probably gonna be killed by him.
I get this sinking feeling that with seven episodes left, I won't see Eibon show up again or at the very least make a big imapct for the final battle, and I won't see Maka's mother. Hope I'm proven wrong on the former more than the latter

I will say that Black Star has been growing on me little by little, even if I do find him extremely annoying

Man, I haven't heard of Project Arms in a long time.

I think the lesson is that Okada-bot is to blame for Fractale.
I still need to get around to watching Fractale, but from what I've heard of it, it was a clusterfuck from top to bottom. Sohei Kano's compositions tell a much different story in large contrast to the writing, which is the real oddity about that project.

This is the part where I once again express relief that Okada was present in name only for Toradora, right?
In that instance, it's the source material that held Okada back from diverging farther personally.

It made tons of money and mass audience loved it as seen from MAL score for example. I would say it turned out well.
That isn't really indicative of anything besides popularity though. Take look at Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon and tell me how that show turned out well, what made it so appealing, when did it hit its stride, etc. Same thing could be asked of Persona 4. The actual quality of the work and how well it was executed is debatable from its actual sales and isn't reflected by those numbers.

Rinne no Lagrange 9

This was a pretty entertaining episode. The show is better off when it tries to be a comedy like this because I can't take any of the drama seriously or care about these vague factions fighting an unknown war.

Now I remember what I didn't like about The Twelve Kingdoms. The main character does nothing but whine and cry. "My parents will never recognize me like this! Boo hoo hoo!"

I think Sugimoto should've been the MC. She's just like "Fuck yeah, give me a sword too!"

Chihayafuru 3-5

Man, I'm really into this. I really like the style, the characters are immensely likeable, and the soundtrack is masterful.

And there are great moments every four scenes, haha.

Not even Space Tiger can escape from the deceptive horrors of motion gaming. :(

Gokujo. 5

welp, probably the most... erm, "unique" use of ping pong balls i've seen. no wonder it was banned from airing!

Not many Arata fans up in here, I see, hahaha.

I like Taichi more too (although Arata is probably the anime character that most resembles me physically ever).

i kinda liked the first two episodes of fractale but everything else..... oh man
at least the OP was trippy as fuck

Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu Ni! 11

Believe it or not I actually watched every other episode of Baka and Test S2 weeks ago... except this episode. I avoided it because it was titled "Yuuji, Shouko and Childhood Memories" and any episode focusing on Yuuji and Shouko is automatically not worth watching.

And I was right.

It was extremely cheesy and if anything, made me actually loathe Yuuji. Granted, I expected this episode to be Shouko torturing Yuuji (as children) but what I got was facepalm-worthy drama. To be fair, S2 has been the very definition of disappointment. It's all been attempts at capitalizing on jokes that were already wearing thin in S1. Yuuji or the rest of the guys do something the girls don't like, then the girls torture them. Wasn't all that funny in S1 and it was a chore to endure in S2. The only episode that had any potential in this season was
the Minami origins episode
but then they took potential and demolished it. It blows my mind how they dropped the ball so hard with S2. The premise of Baka and Test is so good and S2 is what we got after the appetizer that was S1. Surely the light novels are better than this? I'm sorry but it was just infuriating to watch S2. It also doesn't surprise me in the least that episode 11 has the lowest amount of views of all the Baka and Test S2 episodes on Funimation's YouTube channel.

Requiem From the Darkness 1-3

I wasn't sure what to expect from the series when I started. It seemed like dark, twisted type from the OP. But watching so far, it has quite a bit of heart to it...along with having dark and twisted elements.
The main man is pretty textbook, but I like the
specter slaying
gang. The formula seems pretty episodic so far, hoping for an overarching storyline to come around sooner than later. Besides that, not bad.

As much as I love Chihayafuru, I still can't bring myself to watch past episode 15 because I'm too afraid of getting a non-ending or
Arata
ending.

Phi Brain 22

Why would they waste all those cool-looking puzzles in montages. Ah well, at least it looks like an interesting one next week.

With the second season continuing immediately after this one ends, I'm not even expecting a proper conclusion anymore.

Rinne no Lagrange 09:

An okay, but with the exception of some background on Madoka, the rest was completely throw-away.
